The nature of the situation of Apple TV+‘s Hijack means it’s hard to trust anyone, yet the passengers might very well need to rely on each other to get out of it alive. And in TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek of the July 5 episode, a passenger might have news that could change everything. But should Sam (Idris Elba) believe him? Sam’s attention is drawn to the couple behind him, disagreeing about whether or not to share something he deems “important” and she sees as him “always inserting yourself.” The man leans forward to get Sam’s attention, but his wife stops him with, “don’t make trouble.” Hugo (Harry Michell), in the passenger next to Sam, tries to get answers, and it’s another passenger, sitting across from him, who translates for them. Watch the clip above to find out what this man claims to know about the hijackers’ guns.

"We got one job to do right now - just get through it for them." Apple has unveiled a trailer for the thriller series Hijack. Much like the movie Plane from earlier this year, this remarkably simple title does indeed hint that the series is about a hijacking on a plane. Because, you know, what else could you call a hijacking thriller other than just Hijack? Told in real time, this tense thriller follows the journey of a hijacked plane as it makes its way to London over a seven-hour flight, and as authorities on the ground scramble for answers. Starring and executive produced by SAG Award winner and Emmy Award nominee Idris Elba, Hijack was created by George Kay ("Lupin") and Jim Field Smith. It’s Passenger 57 meets 24. Or perhaps just 24. Idris Elba stars in a new series from AppleTV+ called Hijack. The title pretty much cues you in on the concept. A group of terrorists takes over a seven-hour flight. What they want is not yet revealed, but they have allies on the ground that are helping to make their demands. However, something they didn’t count on is an experienced business negotiator already on the flight. This negotiator, portrayed by Elba, is preparing to deal with them…in more ways than one. The show takes during the events surrounding the seven-hour international flight and will be told in real-time.

It takes expert stylistic precision to successfully craft a dark comedy about religious fanatics endeavoring to assassinate a celebrated atheist. Filmmaker Harry Michell doesn’t quite stick the landing in his sophomore feature, aiming for a complex mixture of comic irreverence and sensitive character study. But he does earn points for creative ambition, and Say Your Prayers, benefiting from a terrific ensemble, has enough entertainingly startling moments to mark its filmmaker as capable of bigger and better things.

"It's just words! It doesn't mean anything!" Gravitas has released a new official US trailer for an indie dark comedy from the UK called Say Your Prayers, the second feature directed by Harry Michell (also of Chubby Funny previously). This opened in the UK last fall, and arrives in the US this spring to watch. Two orphaned brothers turned radical Christian hitmen venture to rural Ilkley (north of Manchester - see Google Maps) under the instruction of Father Enoch. Their mission: assassinate the Professor John Huxley, famed atheist writer. The cast features Harry Melling and Tom Brooke, with Derek Jacobi, Roger Allam, Anna Maxwell Martin, and Vinette Robinson. This looks like it gets super wacky weird and crazy, but I like that they're making fun of religion in a blatant way. More of this kind of dark humor to laugh at, please. Here's the new US trailer (+ poster) for Harry Michell's Say Your Prayers,...

Christian extremist brothers Tim and Vic (Harry Melling and Tom Brooke) are on a mission. Sent to Ilkley in the Yorkshire dales, they have been charged with assassinating atheist writer John Huxley (Roger Allam), but a botched initial attempt which left another man dead has put a hard-nosed cop (Anna Maxwell Martin) on their trail.
There are promising ideas and a few good jokes at the beginning of this satirical black comedy. The cold open with Tim sharing a jam sandwich with the man he and his brother are about to kill is gently funny because we know that something is coming and the incongruous appearance of a male voice choir among the rolling hills, singing the score over the opening title is a funny fourth wall break. The first act continues to work fairly well after this, with Anna Maxwell Martin clearly having fun slightly overplaying the tough cop...

Smart pacing, sharp editing and classy cameos elevate this Yorkshire-set tale above many recent crime capers
The team behind 2016’s eye-catching indie Chubby Funny – producer Helen Simmons and director Harry Michell – return with another agreeably off-beam comedy, this time with a starrier cast and a goofy, Four Lions-ish premise. It’s the tale of sibling Christian hitmen who, envious of the column inches logged by rival fundamentalists, set out to kill a Dawkins-like author at a literary festival in Ilkley.
Tim (Harry Melling) is the childlike younger brother, ill-suited to grisly murder; the uptight Vic (Tom Brooke) an unrepentant sociopath. Their target need not worry unduly: an astutely timed prologue shows our would-be ruthless killers stalking a rambler who looks just enough like Allam for the first of several terrible mistakes to be made.

Exclusive: The cast for Universal and Working Title’s untitled Danny Boyle-directed, Richard Curtis-scripted comedy keeps expanding with Sophia Di Martino (Channel 4’s Flowers), Joel Fry and Harry Michell (Chubby Funny) joining the already announced Lily James, Himesh Patel, Kate McKinnon and Ana de Armas.
Di Martino plays the role of Carol who is the best friend to Lily James’ character. Storyline is under wraps. This movie has come together quite quickly for a Sept. 13, 2019 release considering there’s been solid talk out there that Boyle is bound for Bond. The 25th 007 title is scheduled for release two months after this romantic comedy on Nov. 8 next year.
Uni Evp of Production Erik Baiers has been overseeing this project. Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are producing alongside Matt Wilkinson and Bernie Bellew. Curtis and Boyle will also produce.

Exclusive: The Cannes Film Festival lineup may be short on Brit movies but for the second year the UK’s three leading financiers, the BFI, BBC Films and Film4, in collaboration with the British Council and the UK government’s ‘Great’ campaign, will be showcasing up-and-coming UK talent with projects in the market.
Here, I can reveal the ‘Great 8’, which will be highlighted on Tuesday 8 May during a private reception for buyers and festival programmers at the Gray d’Albion beach. These are projects in post-production which have a strong chance at critical and/or commercial success. Last year’s lineup included Michaela Coel musical Been So Long, which was nabbed by Netflix in a multi-million dollar deal soon after the festival, and Michael Pearce drama Beast, which went...

Edgar Wright’s entertaining car-chase movie roars into town, while Harry Michell stars in a comedy about two aspiring actors. Plus: a social history of Istanbul’s cats
Wright hotwires the Us car-chase movie and takes it for a joyride, chopping the impressively staged action (and smart-mouthed inaction) to a virtually non-stop soundtrack like it’s a feature-length music video. Ansel Elgort is the getaway virtuoso of the title, who is permanently plugged into his headphones but has difficulty disconnecting from Kevin Spacey’s colourful crime gang.
