Terri Vandenbosch(1962-2009)
- Actress
Blonde, blue-eyed, Terri was adopted in Florida by Don and Sandy
VandenBosch and later joined by brother John and sisters Carol and
Jill. At 12 years old, she moved with her family to Saratoga Springs,
New York, then attended the University at Albany but left before
graduation for New York City, where she quickly landed the role of
Frannie Hughes on "As The World Turns." After being written out in late
1984, and after appearing on the TBS show "The Catlins" in 1985, Terri
became frustrated by the struggling actor's life of auditions and no
work, so she went to Mexico and worked as a scuba diving instructor, a
dolphin trainer, and a documentary film assistant then returned to her
upstate hometown at age 31. She began dating her business manager,
Michael Hertz, in 1996 when his marriage ended, and she moved to his
Woodbury, NY home. They married on January 25, 1998, and had a
daughter, Skylar, now 7. She became a full-time mother with a gift for
colored pencil drawing, and interior decor on a budget. Terri also had
two stepchildren, Matthew, 20, and Monica, 18. Prior to 1996, she was
planning to save enough money to move to Alaska to learn both ice
diving and ice fishing. In late 2003, she was diagnosed with a chronic
kidney disease which led to her death at only 46 in New York City's
Mount Sinai Medical Center.
