Songwriter, composer and author Edith Lindeman (Edith Calisch) was educated at Barnard College and was on the staff of the Richmond, Virginia Times-Dispatch from 1933 to 1964 as an entertainment editor and film and drama commentator. Her books include "Bible Tales for the Very Young" and "Tales From Grandfather's Big Book". Joining ASCAP in 1954, her chief musical collaborator was Carl Stutz, and her popular-song compositions include "Little Things Mean a Lot", "Cling to Me", "I Know", "Red-Headed Stranger", and "The Kissing Tree". Her classical works include "Jamestown Festival Suite".
