Haruichi Furudate’s Haikyuu is regarded by many as the best sports manga in the world. The series has introduced the fun and thrill of volleyball along with moralities like teamwork, loyalty, hard work, confidence, and much more. And while the anime is still going on, the manga published its last chapter in July 2020.

The ending of the series also features a volleyball match, which is no less than a battle featuring the star players of Haikyuu: Hinata Shoyo and Kageyama Tobio. While the ending was the perfect way to conclude the series, Furudate once revealed that the ending became a nightmare for him and his editors.
According to the mangaka, the ending was supposed to be an important moment for the series and for the creators, but the toll it took on them forced them to take a big rest instead of enjoying the final moments of Haikyuu.

On April 6, Haikyu!! the anime series celebrated its 10th anniversary. However, with the franchise having stopped coming up with new episodes since 2020, the latest chapter, which comes into the form of a movie was much anticipated, also because it brings Karasuno against Nekoma and Hinata against Kenma, in one of the most intriguing clashes of the whole series.
Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment spikes the all-time favorite volleyball anime into theaters in the United States and Canada on May 31
In that fashion, Susumu Mitsunaka follows the usual path of similar anime movies, as dictated recently by “The First Slam Dunk”, where the movie is essentially a full match, peppered with flashbacks from the past that put the ‘duel' into dramatic context. Global girl group Xg has been hard at work preparing for a massive second half of 2024: Their new single, “Woke Up,” drops today (May 21) after they kicked off their first world tour on Saturday.
“[The tour] is something that we’ve been looking forward to ever since our debut,” the group’s leader, Jurin, told The Hollywood Reporter through a translator just days before their first show.
The seven-piece hip-hop and R&b-inspired group — made up of members Jurin, Chisa, Hinata, Harvey, Juria, Maya and Cocona — debuted in 2022 with the single “Tippy Toes,” featuring a bold prediction of their future as belted by Juria: “Understand that we didn’t come to play, babe. Here to dominate.”
True to those lyrics, Xg (short for “Xtraordinary Girls”) has been on a meteoric rise since then. The group hails from global entertainment company Xgalx, which was initially created as a global artist project under...

We often joke about sports anime being overly dramatic with internal monologues that put Shakespeare to shame and overexaggerated reactions that have become memes in the community. Still, that doesn’t make shows like Haikyu!! any less fun to watch. As someone who’s not into sports, Haikyu!! is the first sports anime that made me feel like I was a spectator, cheering from the sidelines and watching with bated breath. From that first episode, I was locked in. What makes sports anime a thrill to watch is characters’ motivations. Not only do we see characters grow but they also come up with the hardest-hitting quotes that should be framed and hung up. Haikyu!! is a gold mine of inspirational quotes, so believe me, I’d include every single one if I could. These, however, are some of the best quotes that resonate with many — myself included — and are a...

The latest addition to Haruichi Furudate’s magnum opus, Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle anime movie is soon going to hit theaters all over the world and hopefully break records just like it did during its initial release in Japan. Haikyu!! has a global audience, and it all started with the first line by the protagonist of the series, Hinata Shoyo.
Haikyu!! by Haruichi Furudate
In the first chapter, when Hinata Shoyo enters his first-ever volleyball match in the gymnasium, he talks about how much he loves the smell of air salonpas that is present in the entire gymnasium. For those who don’t know, air salonpas are painkiller sprays that athletes use to spray on a sprained injury.
Furudate, in one of his interviews, revealed that the first line of Hinata has a deeper meaning than fans realize. It has a direct connection to the excitement Hinata feels as he...

Haikyuu!! is a manga overflowing with optimism. Its protagonist, Hinata Shoyo, is one of the most irritatingly positive people you will ever encounter. Yet, the series’ author, Haruichi Furudate, is the exact opposite of his character.

In sharp contrast to Hinata’s never-ending positivity, Furudate never once thought that anything good could happen. In a 2014 interview, the mangaka opened up about his feelings when Haikyuu!! was first selected for serialization.

When Haruichi Furudate received confirmation that his manga about volleyball would be serialized, he was far from happy; in fact, he felt devastated. When the Boruto anime started, fans were disappointed to find out that Naruto’s relationship with his son was not as happy and satisfying as they had imagined it to be. Naruto, after becoming the Hokage, got caught up in his duties as the highest authority in their village, which led to Boruto developing resentment towards his father.
Naruto and Boruto
He even tried to use petty tricks, just like Naruto used to do, to get attention from the villagers. However, as the story progressed, Naruto understood that his neglecting Boruto was affecting their relationship as father and son. Therefore, he decided to balance his work and personal life and started to develop a bond with Boruto.
But this bond was short-lived as Kawaki entered the story and took all of Naruto’s attention away from Boruto. Because of a similar background, Naruto developed an attachment to Kawaki that made...

Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto is one of the most popular Shonen Series that features a number of iconic female characters, such as Kurenai, Mei Tarumi, Ino Yamanaka, Konan, and many more. However, two characters stand out, particularly in the series, it is none other than Hinata Hyuga and Sakura Haruno.
A young Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuga
While fans of the series immensely love the former character for her looks and attributes and how she treats our protagonist, they hate the latter for the same. The hate for Tsunade Senju’s apprentice is the most extreme of all anime characters. It looks like Kishimoto-san has chosen his favorite female character out of the two, as he prefers the Byakugan princess over a strange reason that the medical ninja can not change.

Masashi Kishimoto has never hesitated in bringing out the best of each character in Naruto. Each and every character has a sense of individuality whether by design or personality. Uniqueness is not something Naruto is short of and that shows from every angle. Even the characters that may not be as popular or often disliked are recognizable because of one or the other unique features.

Despite making such visually and emotionally appealing characters, there are moments when the mangaka falls short. While it is understandable to not be able to focus on each and every character because of the sheer number of them, it becomes questionable when one of those characters also happens to be one of the main ones.

Masashi Kishimoto took it upon himself to create one of the big three shonen works. Naruto stands out in many ways and not just one. Each and every step he took with the series provided an extra set of fans to join in. No story starts off with a bang and maintains that pace without effort. It takes dedication, understanding, and flexibility to make something stand out in the way Naruto does.

Kishimoto, ever since the first chapter, has been nothing but expressing his heart out. The love that is required to make such a work also coincides with the planning and flow. There can also be certain directions that one may not initially be aware of, only to take the road not taken. However, one such advice not only became a boon, but also a bane.

Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto, One Piece by Eiichiro Oda, and Bleach by Tite Kubo are the well-deserving Big Three of the anime and manga world. These three series form the foundation of Weekly Shonen Jump, and they have proven their worth with a strong fan base that has followed them for years.

There's a particular challenge that original anime face in that, unlike manga adaptations, they don't have a built-in audience and fanbase. Therefore, sometimes it can take a while for them to gain some momentum in the anime community. When “A Place Further than the Universe” first aired in 2018 there were many who dismissed it as another “cute girls doing cute things” show that had little to offer beyond mildly humorous antics. Those who gave the show a proper chance, however, found a deeply affecting coming of age comedy-drama from a creative team at the top of their game with plenty of emotional catharsis and heart-warming growth.

At a glance, Haikyuu might look like a typical sports-genre anime; however, it might be a fatal mistake if you decide to skip watching this masterpiece. Haikyuu focuses on Hinata Shoyo’s journey, as he overcomes all odds and gives a destructive reply to the people ridiculing him for his height by showcasing his breathtaking abilities. The series has a massive fanbase scattered around the globe.
Despite its popularity, Haikyuu never got an update after its cessation in 2020 with the ending of season 4, part 2. A long-standing Shonen anime like Naruto is bound to have a few deaths. After all, it’s a series about the fight for the Shinobi’s way of life and not just a comedy anime. Masashi Kishimoto develops his characters to the point that fans can relate to all of them.
So when a character dies, they are genuinely mourned. However, some deaths could have been avoided in Naruto and fans think Neji’s is one of them.

Zoro is a legendary character, not only in One Piece but in other anime and manga franchises as well. The daunting swordsman is often the butt of jokes due to his inability to figure out directions. However, that has not stopped him from appearing in other famous works.

Welcome, readers, to Late to the Party , a column that's right on time when it comes to catching up on anime everyone's already watched. This column addresses a universal truth in regard to being an anime fan: an anime backlog is quite the powerful beast. Many of us have one, where we amass more and more content we have designated in the "planning to watch" category. How and why it takes so long to actually address this task varies from person to person, but the gratification of finally allocating the time is really quite splendid. Occasionally, it’s by watching a classic anime from yesteryear that you’ve had your eye on for quite some time. This month, it’s one of the biggest sporting anime out there, so I don’t really have an excuse. But now that we have arrived at the spring season, I decided it was...

Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto Shippuden ended seven years ago, while his rival, Eiichiro Oda, is yet to conclude his magnum opus. One Piece is currently in its Final Saga, and it might not be long before the anime finally comes to an end.
