It's safe to say that we've seen the beginning of the golden age of TV series: their number has increased significantly in recent years, the budgets are growing, and more and more A-listers are starring on the small screen. Unfortunately, a good TV show is not always able to captivate its audience right away, which is why many promising projects were axed.
Of all the high school TV shows of the 2000s, Veronica Mars is the one that still has a great chance of captivating both teens and adults.

Parks And Recreation star Adam Scott will make his directorial debut with revenge thriller Double Booked. Here’s what we know so far…
Previously best known for his acting work, Adam Scott has long been a regular fixture on the small screen, perhaps most notably playing Ben Wyatt in Parks And Recreation. He also won a Golden Globe for his performance in Severance, which is currently on its second series at Apple TV+.
Scott is now making his feature directorial debut with revenge thriller Double Booked, in which he will also star. The synopsis reads as follows:
Double Booked follows a successful self-help writer (Scott) and his heavily pregnant wife (Zazie Beetz) who organize a weekend away at a secluded lodge, only to encounter another couple (Sterling K Brown and Alexandra Daddario) at their cabin when they arrive. With a blizzard moving in they are forced to spend the night together,...

A single-location thriller set in an imminent-seeming future where food scarcity has forced every country on Earth to cull its population by 20 percent, Caitlin Cronenberg’s slight but steel-eyed “Humane” takes a hard look — or at least an unflinching glance — at the irreconcilable relationship between self-interest and saving the planet. The broadly representative premise screenwriter Michael Sparaga uses in order to examine that dynamic: A family dinner at the castle-like estate of a former news anchor (Peter Gallagher), which is tense even before the wealthy retiree tells his four adult children that he and his most recent wife (Uni Park as Dawn) have volunteered to be euthanized later that same evening.
This news takes Charles’ kids by surprise, as their family doesn’t need the $250,000 payout that the government offers “heroic” — aka poor — people who agree to sacrifice themselves for the greater good, but there isn’t time enough to...

A breath of fresh air for traditional commercial television was Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone, especially in an era when streaming services and binge-worthy content ruled the television landscape.
If you enjoy vintage badass Westerns with lots of revolvers and hard-boiled cowboys, you have probably heard of, if not seen, Paramount’s neo-Western drama series. Fans of the genre will find much to enjoy in this gripping drama series that brings back the glamour of Hollywood’s golden era into the present day.

But before going on to give birth to one of the best TV shows ever, Sheridan, 54, was just an actor, most known for his role in the FX drama series Sons of Anarchy (2008–2010). However, he left Kurt Sutter’s series and later said the experience motivated him to work on Yellowstone.

To borrow from Davia, it's the end of an era.
With a heavy heart and the taste of bittersweetness, with Good Trouble Season 5 Episode 20, we not only said goodbye to the series but also marked the end of a franchise.
As a result, this unplanned finale had double the impact, as characters we've experienced for an entire decade signed off, presumably for the last time.
It's never easy to say goodbye to a series that has made it this far. In an industry where we frequently see series get the boot before it can even get into telling its stories, Good Trouble making it five seasons is a remarkable feat.
And even the diehard, most dedicated fans of this series often agree that the series was due to get wrapped up sooner rather than later.
However, it doesn't make this loss any less impactful, nor the fact that we essentially...

In the following years, she performed in small and big screen productions of notable networks and studios while studying Mass Communication at UCLA. The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute has brought in veteran TV casting executive as Head of Talent, a newly created position focused on transitioning the Institute’s students to becoming professional actors in film and TV.

General Hospital veteran John J. York announced earlier this month that he’d be taking a hiatus from the ABC daytime soap — and now we know why.
York revealed that he’s dealing with some serious health issues in a video he shared on social media on Wednesday: “I was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome, or Mds, and [smoldering multiple] myeloma, two blood and bone marrow disorders. Over the past many months, I’ve had three bone marrow biopsies, many chemo treatments — I have another one coming up in a couple of weeks — and I’m closing in on a blood stem cell transplant.

Zachery Ty Bryan, the actor best known for his role as eldest son Brad Taylor on Tim Allen’s Home Improvement, reportedly has been arrested for domestic violence for the second time.
TMZ reported that Bryan was arrested Friday by police in Eugene, Or, police for felony assault in violation of the Abuse Prevention Act. The action is used when someone is accused of attacking a person who’d previously been granted a restraining order in relation to domestic violence.
Entertainment Weekly said later Sunday that it had confirmed TMZ’s report.
Bryan previously pleaded guilty in 2021 to two felony counts in a domestic violence case in Oregon. He received a sentence of three years probation and was required to participate in a batterer-intervention program.
The 2021 charges stem from an incident in Eugene in which the then-39-year-old actor assaulted his 27-year-old girlfriend. He was arrested and booked into the...

ABC is moving forward with one of its six pilots — with more a possibility at a later date.

Veronica Mars was one of many TV show reboots to make waves in recent years. Unlike some of the other ill-fated attempts at bringing back a phenomenon whose time had come and gone, the noir crime drama’s much-delayed fourth season still managed to captivate the series’ considerable fan base.
Kristen Bell and Jason Dohring | Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images
One of the main reasons the reboot pulled viewers back in — and the reason its finale was so shocking — was the chemistry between on-screen lovebirds Veronica and Logan. The romance that started in high school was still going strong when they reappeared years later, but it wasn’t written into the original script.
Jason Dohring played Logan on ‘Veronica Mars’
The original Veronica Mars series premiered in 2004 on Upn, a network in its final years. It would run until 2007, finishing up on Upn’s successor (and teen drama playland) The CW.

Zachary Levi isn’t giving up on the movie followup to his NBC series Chuck, and he says creators Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak are on board.
Levi starred in the spy dramedy from 2007 to 2012 as Chuck Bartowski, an average guy who was dragged into the world of the the CIA and Nsa to take on dangerous criminals and other threats. He’s been campaigning for an expansion of the Chuck universe since the show ended, but he recently said on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show that it might actually be coming to fruition.

Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd had unbeatable chemistry on Moonlighting. In fact, their chemistry could be so volatile the show ultimately could not continue, although the success of Die Hard and other movie offers probably would’ve been an irresistible force for Willis regardless. Even after all the years since "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" premiered in 1997 — even with the recent controversy surrounding creator Joss Whedon — even as dated as some of the content and jokes are, the show endures as the forebearer to so many TV and film heroines. Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell), Wynonna Earp (Melanie Scrofano), and Bo (Anna Silk) from "Lost Girl" all owe quite a bit to Buffy Summers.
Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar) herself was influenced by a comic book character — Kitty Pryde of X-Men fame. Whedon called her "a huge proto-Buffy" in a 2005 interview with Time and "the mother of Buffy" in a Wired article from 2012. If any other Buffy fans want to take a moment to pour one out for Joyce Summers (Kristine Sutherland) — Buffy's actual mother — who died unceremoniously in the powerful episode "The Body," please do. I still have to skip that one during my rewatches of the series.

Back in 2004, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" had ended, and fans were ready for another female character who was clever, capable of dealing with difficult circumstances, and prone to quipping snarkily at villains. Viewers soon found her in Veronica Mars. Played by Kristen Bell, Veronica had been through hell after being assaulted and the death of her best friend, Lilly Kane (Amanda Seyfried). Her father, the town sheriff (Enrico Colantoni), accused the wrong man, and all of a sudden, Veronica was on the outs with the rich and popular crowd at her high school.
As such, Veronica began acting as the school's private investigator, all while dealing with mysteries in her own life. Add in a love/hate/chemistry-filled relationship with Lilly's former boyfriend, Logan Echolls (Jason Dohring), and you have a recipe for a cult hit that was still so popular years later that it was brought back as a...

When "Gilmore Girls" first made its debut on the now-defunct WB network back in 2000, it would have been easy at first glance to lump the show together with The WB's roster of female-skewed dramas at the time, including the likes of "Dawson's Creek" and "Felicity." Yet those who tuned in discovered something far deeper and richer, a series that deftly blended comedy and drama in telling the story of single mom Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) raising her studious teenage daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel) in Connecticut's quirkiest town. Created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, her gift for hilariously authentic dialogue was ever-present in characters who spoke fast, quipped hard, and always had the perfect retort in conversations that played out like verbal tennis matches.
While the Lorelai-Rory relationship remained the show's heart, soul, and spine, as the show evolved "Gilmore Girls" also introduced an entertainingly eccentric cast of supporting characters who lived in Stars Hollow.

Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Seyfried had a Mean Girls reunion and are questioning if a Mean Girls sequel to the original film is ever going to happen.
During a conversation that both actors had for Interview magazine, Seyfried was not entirely sure that a follow-up to the 2004 comedy would ever come to fruition.
“I would kill just to do one week, all of us playing our own roles on Mean Girls on Broadway,” Seyfried said about starring in the musical show. “Because a Mean Girls 2 is never going to happen, is it?”
Lohan replied, “I don’t know. I heard something about it being a movie musical and I was like, ‘Oh no.’ We can’t do that. It has to be the same tone.”
The Veronica Mars alum said, “Yeah. It would just be completely different.”
Mean Girls is a film by Tina Fey based on “Queen Bees and Wannabes” by Rosalind Wiseman.

Et’s Cassie Dilaura spoke to Bell at the premiere of her new film, “The People We Hate at the Wedding” — out Nov. 18 — where she revealed the simple thing that’s kept their union so strong nearly a decade later.
“Stay vulnerable,” Bell shared. “At least my secret. You’ve gotta be vulnerable — we have to be vulnerable when we don’t want to be. That’s what works for us.”
There are no plans in place just yet for how they’ll celebrate the major milestone, but the Veronica Mars alum did say she would be up for a vow renewal.
“Yeah, why not?” Bell said, adding that she and Shepard, who tied the knot in Oct. 2013, would likely opt for an intimate affair at home with their two daughters, Lincoln, 9 and Delta,...
