It’s been an exciting week for Batfans, as Warner Bros. dropped several bombshells that sent the internet into a frenzy. As if confirming that Matt Reeves and Ben Affleck were both locked in for The Batman wasn’t enough, they also revealed that a Nightwing movie is now in development. Understandably, fans were ecstatic at the news and already, casting wish lists are popping up left, right and center.
Not only that, but several actors have begun to express interest in the role as well, and though the studio hasn’t given us any sort of indication as to who they may have their eye on, one person they might want to look at is Jared Padalecki. For a while now, fans have been calling for him to suit up as the hero and it seems that the Supernatural star is definitely interested in playing the part.

It's a good thing Merry and Pippin weren't there.
Earlier this week, the good people at Warner Home Video and Weta hosted a special Middle Earth Midnight Madness party. (No, not that kind of Midnight Madness.)
The most hardcore of Lotr fans got to meet Denethor the Steward of Gondor himself, John Noble, and test out their cosplay prowess with a contest judged by Weta's Daniel Falconer and Richard Taylor.
As the clock counted down to midnight, fireworks exploded (and perhaps smoke rings were blown) and finally the boxed sets were sold.
Take a look at this video so you can be annoyed that you weren't there - and see if you can guess which costume will win the prize. (You'd think the person who came as an actual dwarf would win on sheer determination alone!)...

It's another light week in horror title releases, but don't fret; the big name is out on a different form of media (hardcover book).
You can now take home the 3D spectacle that was the 4th installment of the Resident Evil film franchise, particularly if you have a 3D TV. More confirmed sequels means more 3D movies? We'll see. Also on tap are releases of lightweights And Soon the Darkness and The Haunting of Amelia.
If you're curious about what went on behind the scenes of the art design of District 9, you'll want to bring home that hardcover book mentioned above, which details the whole laborious process.
Resident Evil: Afterlife
Directed by Paul W.S. Anderson
Starring Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Sienna Guillory, Boris Kodjoe, Shawn Roberts, Spencer Locke, Wentworth Miller
The fourth installment of the hugely successful Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil: Afterlife (review) is again based on the wildly popular video game series,...
