Since it was announced last Cannes, Macro and Bk Studios are among new elements to have joined the project, which marks one of the last features produced by Brit Bill Kenwright who passed away in late October. Lakeshore is handling international sales.
Also starring are Sonoya Mizuno and Jay Lycurgo. Yaniv Raz (Dr. Bird’s Advice For Sad Poets) directs.

A couple months ago, the Shudder streaming service announced that they would be releasing the survival thriller Quicksand in the US, the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand on June 23rd… but those plans have now changed. Quicksand‘s has moved back to July 14th, while June 23rd will see the Shudder release of the creature feature Unwelcome.
Directed by Andrés Beltrán (MalaYerba) from a screenplay by Matt Pitts (Fringe), Quicksand stars Carolina Gaitán, who provided the voice of Pepa in Disney’s Encanto, and Allan Hawco of Jack Ryan. Over a year ago, a trailer was released for director Jon Wright’s creature feature Unwelcome – and at the time, we were told the film would be receiving a theatrical release in March of 2022. That didn’t happen, but now our friends at Bloody Disgusting have been able to confirm that Well Go USA Entertainment is planning to give Unwelcome a theatrical release on March 10th, with a PVOD release to follow on March 14th. Unwelcome is also set to reach theatres in the UK and Ireland on January 27th. We’ve been waiting for this movie for a while, and it looks like the wait is almost over.

Saban Films has secured North American rights to Alex McAulay’s directorial debut Don’t Tell a Soul, a thriller starring Jack Dylan Grazer (Shazam!), Fionn Whitehead (Dunkirk), Mena Suvari (American Beauty), and Rainn Wilson (The Office). The Unbridled Films and Mangano Movies & Media film follows two young brothers who, when robbing a house to pay for their sick mother’s medical bills (Suvari), cause a security guard (Wilson) to fall into a forgotten well. Trapped, the security guard must try to outsmart these two teenagers, as the brothers also come head to head. Chris Mangano and Merry-Kay Poe produced the film, which was an official selection of the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival. Steve Poe, Matt Bronson, and John Neace served as executive producers. Altitude Film Distribution has acquired UK and Irish distribution rights to A Private War, the Matthew Heineman film about American-born war correspondent Marie Colvin who was killed on assignment in Syria while working for the Sunday Times. The film will be released in the territories in February 2019, which follows a U.S. release that begins today in New York and Los Angeles via Aviron Pictures before going nationwide.
