When stopping in at my local Comics-n-Stuff here in San Diego for my monthly comic book purchases, I tend meander around talking to the guys that work at the store for a bit before heading home. Last time I was there I found myself checking out some the Play Arts Kai Man of Steel figures they had for sale. We got to talking about the movie (which I loved) and the figures. I told them I had the Hot Toys versions on pre-order but sure did love these iterations as well. One of the guys said something I hadn’t thought of before. He said that Play Arts figures were effectively a poor mans Hot Toys. Now, in some ways that could be considered a put down to Play Arts, however, in this case that couldn’t be further from the truth.
