Jose Valdivia Jr.
Jose Valdivia Jr. is a professional jockey in Thoroughbred Horse Racing. He is the son of South
American jockey Jose Valdivia. He is also the nephew of jockey Fernando Toro. He is married to Rene
and which they have two children, Siena and Luca.
In 1994, Valdivia's professional riding career began in New York, as an apprentice, at Belmont Park,
earning his first win, in only his third start. His first big win came aboard Val Royal when he won the
2001 Breeders' Cup Mile at Belmont Park, which that year became his breakout year. He also won the
Belmont States, Santa Anita Derby, Del Mar Derby, and many other G1 races. He is also known as
King of Arlington Park, due to his countless wins. (with over 50% ITM). Valdivia, a classic gentleman and
