Naomi Scott has been set to star in Paramount Pictures’ untitled sequel to its hit horror pic Smile. Parker Finn wrote the script and will direct. Temple Hill is producing.
The original was a runaway hit last year after Paramount made the smart move to release it in theaters rather than o Paramount+. The gamble paid off: the film went on to gross $217 million worldwide, with a sequel quickly put in development.
The original film revolved around a psychiatrist who after witnessing a bizarre, traumatic incident involving a patient, becomes increasingly convinced she is being threatened by an uncanny entity. Plot details for the sequel are being kept under wraps.
Given the popularity of the first pic, Paramount sees the film as a top priority going forward and the casting process was competitive, with several up-and-coming stars chasing the part Scott would eventually land. The sequel is due to be...

"Will love always be this painful?" Madman Films in Australia has unveiled another official trailer for the indie comedy Dr. Bird's Advice For Sad Poets, made by filmmaker Yaniv Raz. This originally premiered last year and is just now getting an official release in some countries. In the emotionally charged, wild and humorous world of sixteen year old James Whitman, we see his struggle to overcome anxiety and depression by seeking advice from Dr. Bird - an imaginary pigeon therapist - in the wake of his sister's disappearance. Based on the book by Evan Roskos. This indie film stars Lucas Jade Zumann as James Whitman, with Taylor Russell, David Arquette, Jason Isaacs, Chase Stokes, Tom Wilkinson, and Michael Cole as Walt Whitman. This looks like it has some really creative filmmaking throughout, drifting into the fantasy realm to tell this story of loss and love. It's a really lovely, amusing trailer,...

It started as a joke. Years ago, Australian-born stand-up Monty Franklin stumbled across an entry on Wikipedia about the Great Emu War. Now all-but-forgotten, the incident refers to a month in 1932 when the Australian government, in an attempt to curb the wild population of emus chomping on farm crops, enlisted a battalion of World War I veterans with machine guns and military training. The result was a decisive victory. For the Emus.

House star Olivia Wilde is easily one of Hollywood’s most in-demand actresses. This summer, she shot Cowboys & Aliens with Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig, and this fall, when she’s not busy promoting the December release of Disney’s Tron: Legacy, she’s shooting the body-swapping comedy The Change-Up with Ryan Reynolds and the sci-fi thriller Now (formally I’m.Mortal) with Justin Timberlake. But she still found the time and nerve to shoot a pointed and imaginative get-out-the-vote video for the liberal political action group MoveOn.org, released yesterday.

Actress Heather Graham has swapped her Boogie Nights for the Boogeyman after becoming a low-key white witch.
The star admits to dabbling with witchcraft, and she's so taken by magic potions and spells she had penned a spooky script about her interests.

"One of my friends, she didn't have a lot of money and she was like, 'I want a better apartment,' and we were doing these spells for her and then her dad just bought her an apartment."
And Graham feels U.S. President Barack Obama owes her and her friends a huge debt of gratitude for helping him win last year's election.
She adds, "My friends really wanted Obama to be elected so we all did a spell... and then he got elected... It worked out good."
And Graham even credits her witchy ways for landing her a good man.
She explains, "I wanted, like, a serious boyfriend and I requested all these things, like, 'I want him to cook, I want him to turn me onto great music... and then I got that."

Actress Heather Graham is thinking twice about starting a family with boyfriend Yaniv Raz after playing 'mum' to six real-life babies on the set of new comedy The Hangover.
The Boogie Nights star plays a new mum stripper in the film and six tots took it in turns to play her character's baby.
Unfortunately for the actress, two of the infants were screaming nightmares - and now she's not so sure she wants kids.
Graham says, "Four (of the babies) were great and two were really horrible. They kept us there for so many hours. It was really hard work... One cried for three hours."
But she isn't ruling out becoming a mother: "I was never really that interested in it, but recently I'm like, 'Hmm, that could be interesting.'"...

Boogie Nights star Heather Graham fears an over-zealous producer will ruin the movie experience which led to her finding romance - by taking over the project.
The actress met boyfriend Yaniv Raz on the set of Son of Mourning when he directed her into his arms - and the couple is blissfully happy.
But there are storm clouds on the horizon - their film together has been nabbed by a movie executive, who is planning an overhaul.
Disgruntled Graham says, "Yaniv wrote and directed the film but the producer kind of took it over three quarters of the way through and now I think that maybe he's gonna screw it up.
"First of all, it's my boyfriend's movie, secondly he's very talented and I saw it and it was really good. I think the producer is like a frustrated writer/director, so he wasn't brave enough to actually do his own movie so he just took over my boyfriend's movie, so it's really sad.
"Usually the producer chooses the director he believes in and supports his vision. Yaniv is devastated."
The film features former The Sopranos co-stars Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Lorraine Bracco , and is currently listed as being in post-production. There's no official release date.

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama went from one ball to the next last night stopping by ten events over the course of their evening. The first stop was at the first ever Neighborhood Ball where there were star-studded performances from Jay-z to Alicia Keys to Stevie Wonder, but Beyonce belting out "At Last" for the Obama's first dance was particularly touching - you seem to agree. Michelle looked stunning in her Jason Wu gown and the couple couldn't wipe the smiles off their faces all night long. Check out Citizen for all the inauguration coverage. Kanye performed at MTV's "Be the Change" Ball where Demi and Ashton partied while waiting for an appearance from the first couple themselves. Anne Hathaway dazzled in red at the Creative Coalition Ball, so it seems her babysitting skills weren't needed for the night. From start to finish it was a pretty...
