Peter Ramsey, Caleeb Pinkett Producing Live-Action Feature Adaptation Of Comic Book ‘The Storm Clan’
Exclusive: Academy Award winner Peter Ramsey (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) and former Overbook head Caleeb Pinkett (Cobra Kai) are set to produce a live-action feature adaptation of The Storm Clan, the comic book created by Dallas Jackson and Joe Casey, which marks the first title from Jackson’s new company DJ Classicz Comix.
Jackson and Casey will pen the script, with former Lionsgate exec Jorge Alfaro to serve as an EP.
A sci-fi action adventure story, The Storm Clan watches as an ex-military weapons engineer trains his five adopted children to be undercover hi-tech/martial-arts thieves wearing an invincible bionic-body armor. Previously orphaned, the teenagers gifted with bionic technology see it provide them with the opportunity to protect themselves from the threats of the streets, also empowering them to take advantage of life instead of being taken advantage of, and most importantly, giving them comfort and sense of belonging within a family.

Unfortunately, that luck runs out when the cops raid the operation he’s robbing.
Recognizing his potential Commissioner Clarke offers him a deal. There’s a private prison on the outskirts of town with a high rate of inmate deaths. If Savage will be his informant he’ll cut him a deal, if not he’s facing ten years for armed robbery. So after a final call to his bedridden daughter,...

Dallas Jackson and Michael Jai White have begun production on Welcome to Sudden Death, a reboot of the 1995 action flick Sudden Death. This time around Mjw will be joined by comedian Gary Owen to add a buddy-action flick element to the reboot. The original film starred Jean-Claude Van Damme who played a former fireman who took on a group of terrorists holding the Vice President hostage during game seven of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Basically it took the Igloo in Pittsburgh and turned it into the Nakatomi building. But if featured ice hockey so for us Canadians that was pretty... uh... cool. Jean-Claude Van Damme’s classic 1995 film Sudden Death is getting a remake thanks to Netflix and writer and director Dallas Jackson (Thriller). The film will be called Welcome to Sudden Death and it’s described as being “martial arts heavy …with a comedic twist.”
Michael Jai White (Black Dynamite, Tyson) and comedian Gary Owen (Daddy Day Care, Get Hard) are set to star in the film and it’s obviously taking a new spin on the subject matter.
There’s no word on what the story will entail, but the original film featured Van Damme as a fireman “who interceded when terrorists snatch the U.S. Vice President during the seventh game of the NHL Stanley Cup.” I assume the new film will tell the same story, but in a more comedic way.
Netflix has scheduled the film for June 2020 release. What do you think about Sudden Death getting a comedic remake?...

Blumhouse has released the first trailer for their upcoming new horror/slasher film called Thriller. The movie takes a very familiar plot that we’ve seen a hundred times before in horror movies, but this time is set in South Central La, or more specifically… Compton.
Thriller follows the story of an introverted young man named Chauncey Page who is sent to juvenile hall after he accidentally kills a young woman who is part of a group of tormentors that play a cruel prank on him. Years later he is released and is back for revenge — and blood — as Chauncey (Jason Woods) serves up some murderous karma as the group, now in high school, gets ready for Homecoming. Dressed in a hoodie and a menacing glare, he terrorizes them picks them off one by one.
If you’re a fan of slasher movies then this might be a film that you’ll enjoy.

Exclusive: Flipping the classic slasher pic on its head, Blumhouse’s upcoming Thriller is serving up some major Prom Night and Scream scares and bloody fun in its first trailer.
Set to make its world premiere on Sept. 23 at the Los Angeles Film Festival, Thriller follows the story of an introverted young man named Chauncey Page who is sent to juvenile hall after he accidentally kills a young woman who is part of a group of tormentors that play a cruel prank on him.
Years later he is released and is back for revenge — and blood — as Chauncey (Jason Woods) serves up some murderous karma as the group, now in high school, gets ready for Homecoming. Dressed in a hoodie and a menacing glare, he terrorizes them and picks them off one by one.

From Movies Blog: In 2002, hip hop star Eminem impressed a helluva lot of people with his work in the sort-of-biographical drama, "8 Mile." He's been relatively quiet on the Hollywood front since then, other than a few publicity stunts. All that is about to change however, as Eminem is preparing to return to the silver screen.
Next up for Slim Shady is "Shady Talez," a 3-D horror anthology described as "'Twilight Zone' meets 'Creepshow'" by ScreenDaily, which broke the news. The project is a collaboration between "I, Robot" producer John Davis and writer/producer Dallas Jackson, under the D.J. Classicz/Davis Entertainment label. Jackson will co-write the story with "Underworld" creator Kevin Grevioux; the duo will also produce a four-issue comic book miniseries based on the movie under the Marvel Icons label, for a 2010 release.

A cameo appearance in 2009's "Funny People" apparently isn't enough for Grammy-winning rapper Eminem. Screen Daily recently broke the news that the Slim Shady is looking forward to make his return to the big screen by starring in a new 3-D anthology horror film entitled "Shady Talez".
The 37-year-old rapper reportedly will take on multiple roles in the movie described by the site as "The Twilight Zone" meets "Creepshow", in addition to producing it. Nationwide, Juggalos are already boycotting in parking lots, in addition to breeding. Eminem, the 37-year-old adolescent rapper, will follow up his $116 million grossing fictionalized biopic, 8 Mile, from 2002 with a 3D anthology horror movie horrifically entitled Shady Talez. Wait, didn’t Snoop Dogg already did something similar? Anyways, not content to wow the world with his amazing ability to recite lines about the crack whoreness of his mom and prone-to-bitchiness wife, rapper Eminem will return to the big screen in the 3D film “Shady Talez”. That’s pronounced “Shady Tales“, you see, the “z” in place of the “s” is just to make it look cooler. Because Eminem knows from coolness. So moving on. The film will be Eminem’s first in over seven years, since his debut in 2002’s “8 Miles”, a movie where Eminem played a white trash kid from Detroit who dreams of becoming a big rapper, but no one gave him a chance, and still our white trash kid kept plugging until respect was given. Last month, we reported on Shady Talez , a new horror anthology being produced by Dallas Jackson, John Davis and rapper Eminem. In our initial post , we knew that Kevin Grevioux, the co-creator of the Underworld franchise would be scripting the pic. According to Screen Daily, Eminem will be making his first on-screen performance since 2002's 8 Mile and that the flick, described as The Twilight Zone meets Creepshow will be in 3D. Also of interest, Shady Talez is also being turned into a four-issue comic book series due out in 2010 under the Marvel Icons imprint that Jackson and Grevioux are writing together. Rapper Eminem had pulled his nose out of Bruno's tail long enough to stick it right back into a new horror/hip-hop anthology film, Shady Talez!
Em will be joined by producers Dallas Jackson and John Davis in development of the anthology project.
"Shady Talez is a fictional horror comic book that literally sucks its reader into its very pages. Each horror story is a wink at an original classic such as Christine, Aliens, and The Lost Boys while Eminem puts his own dark spin on the genre, playing multiple characters and introducing new stories to the new horror generation."
Kevin Grevioux, the co-creator of the Underworld franchise and co-star of the first and third entries, is serving as writer. Shady Talez is due sometime in 2011.
