Written, produced by and starring Luke McGregor and Celia Pacquola, Rosehaven follows the story of two fictional friends and unlikely real estate agents, Daniel and Emma.
Having defeated the first agent that tried to encroach on McCallum Real Estate’s territory, Daniel and Emma are happy for things to get back to normal at the office. Navigating issues that crop up with their clients, they’re finally managing the routine of being professional adults. Barbara’s (Kris McQuade) trust is growing for the duo as she lets them take on more responsibility within the business. Could this be the year she finally retires?...

A second season of ABC’s Superwog, the brainchild of brothers Theodore and Nathan Saidden, will begin shooting this week in Melbourne.
Produced by Superwog and Princess Pictures, the second instalment will dive further into Superwog’s volatile family as he and his dad chase their passions, test their friendships, fight relatives and butt heads with authorities.
The Saidden brothers have written and will star in all episodes, with Theodore to direct. They co-produce with Mike Cowap and Antje Kulpe. Executive producers are Emma Fitzsimons, Elia Eliades and Katherine Dale, with Todd Abbott and Andrew Gregory for the ABC.

Todd Abbott.
Installed as ABC head of comedy in July, Todd Abbott will start evaluating the development materials of the comedy projects that received support under the $5 million Fresh Start Fund this week – and next week he hopes to greenlight development on several projects that he’s already been evaluating.
That’s the good news for Australian producers and creators – tempered by the fact that the broadcaster’s comedy slate for 2021 is fully committed. So the projects that will advance from now on will premiere in 2022.
Given the ABC’s budget constraints, Abbott tells If: “Everyone has had to tighten their belts. My task is to maintain the comedy department’s output and to keep the Wednesday comedy night thriving – and then I’ll try to work out how to do hostile takeovers of the other nights. The charming Australian dramedy “Please Like Me,” which has built an international following over the course of four seasons, is officially coming to a close. Creator/star Josh Thomas made the announcement Thursday on social media, posting that “Ultimately we decided this because we are really happy with what we’ve made and feel like it is complete.”
“Please Like Me” was a coming-of-age story anchored around the awkward yet sweet-natured Josh (Thomas) juggling a complicated family life (including a clinically depressed mother), an eccentric crew of friends, and his emerging sexuality. The series had suffered a major setback prior to the premiere of Season 4, when its original American distributor, the cable network Pivot, closed up shop. Fortunately, Hulu (which was already streaming Seasons 1-3) agreed to pick up the fourth season, releasing it last month to U.S. audiences.

If the 3rd annual Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards could be categorised as a David vs Goliath battle between The Rocket and The Great Gatsby, Goliath is the hands-down winner.
Baz Luhrmann.s opulent romantic drama won six awards tonight, for best film, director, adapted screenplay, lead actor Leonardo DiCaprio, supporting actor Joel Edgerton and supporting actress Elizabeth Debicki.
That.s in addition to the six awards in craft categories plus the Aacta award for outstanding achievement in visual effects bestowed on Luhrmann.s film on Tuesday.
Kim Mordaunt's The Rocket, which had 12 nominations versus 14 for Gatsby, had to be content with just one trophy, for Mordaunt.s original screenplay.
The outcome is likely to reignite the debate about the near-impossibility of comparing a lavishly-mounted 3D film financed by Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow Pictures, which cost $160 million, with an independently-funded Lao-set film from a first-time director budgeted at about $2 million.

The six-episode, 30-minute sitcom called Please Like Me is produced by Todd Abbott, producer of Rove, Judith Lucy’s Spiritual Journey and The Dream with Roy & H.G and directed by Matthew Saville, who directed episodes of The Slap, Cloudstreet and We Can Be Heroes.
As well as Thomas, the series stars Debra Lawrance of Home & Away, David Roberts of Offspring, Judi Farr of Unfolding Florence and Caitlin Stasey of Tomorrow, When the War Began.
The series is “about growing up quickly, and about realising that your parents are not heroes, but dopes with no idea what’s going on – just like you,” according to the ABC.
Debbie Lee, ABC head of comedy, said: “We’re so happy to be bringing Josh’s world to ABC TV in what promises to be such a funny and surprising series.
