It’s a big Christmas for Joe Kelly’s wife Ashley!
After campaigning on social media for teammate Shohei Ohtani to sign with her husband’s team and take her husband’s No. 17 jersey, Ashley discovered a Porsche parked outside her home for the holiday.
“It’s yours,” Joe says off-camera in a video posted to social media. “From Shohei, he wanted to gift you a Porsche.”
Keep reading to find out more…
“Shut … up!” Ashley responded.
The gift follows Ashley‘s amusing social media campaign to get the 29-year-old player to sign with the Dodgers.
Shohei played with the Los Angeles Angels for six seasons, wearing the No. 17, the same as Joe.
In her #Ohtake17 campaign, Ashley begged for the star to come to the Dodgers.
In a video one day before it was announced that Shohei had signed a record 10-year, $700 million contract with the Dodgers, the highest deal in MLB history,...

Yuya Ishii has been the mastermind behind a number of films we cherish particularly here in Asian Movie Pulse, with “The Great Passage” especially featuring frequently in some of our ‘best of’ lists. Recently, however, and particularly since “The Asian Angel”, Ishii seems to have lost some of his edge, which he apparently tries to find once more with “The Moon”, a rather ambitious project.
The Moon is screening at Busan International Film Festival
Yoko Dojima once wrote a novel about the 2011 Earthquake, which brought her fame and even a much younger and rather handsome husband, Shohei, who calls her maestra and is an animator. Currently, though, she has not been able to produce anything new, which is why, along with the financial issues the couple faces, she agrees on taking on a job as caretaker at a facility for the severely disabled, which is located deep in the forest.

A grief-stricken author attempts to reconnect with society by taking a job at a nursing home for the severely disabled in Yuya Ishii’s compelling drama The Moon, inspired by a real-life Japanese tragedy and adapted from the novel by Yo Hemmi. Rie Miyazawa (Pale Moon) is sensational in the lead role, but is surrounded by an equally impressive ensemble that includes Joe Odagiri (Adrift in Tokyo), Fumi Nikaido (Why Don't You Play in Hell?), and Hayato Isomura (Tokyo Revengers). Yoko (Miyazawa) and her husband Shohei (Odagiri) are battling to keep their marriage on course following the death of their infant son due to a congenital heart disease. Yoko previously found success as a writer, publishing a celebrated novel about the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake. Since...

In 1939, Sadaho Maeda was born in Fukuoka, the third of five children to an Imperial Army pilot and a retired track-and field runner. While still a toddler, the family moved to Chiba Prefecture where Sadaho grew up. Perhaps that location was the inspiration of the publicity people at Toei in 1960 to rename this “new face” – Shin'ichi Chiba. He became a teen favorite as a “funky hat” detective in a series directed by Kinji Fukasaku, and then gained another fan base with his pursuit of serious martial arts training. Chiba was already a powerhouse by the time the three “Street Fighter” films in 1974 introduced him to the world as Sonny Chiba.
If the world had granted him more time, Toru Murakawa's “Game Trilogy” in 1978-1979, might have done the same for Yusaku Matsuda. Although it was always already too late for Matsuda, we now have time to...

Based on an adult-oriented manga by “Angel Guts” creator Takashi Ishii, “Mermaid Legend” was Toshiharu Ikeda’s first film after leaving Nikkatsu, and was produced by the Director’s Company and distributed by Atg. The movie won three awards in Yokohama Film Festival, for director, Actress and Cinematography, and despite its exploitation premises, also channels the intense anti-nuclear sentiment of the decade.
