- Clinton H. Wallace was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica as Clinton H. Wallace De Cornwall. After studying History and Literature at university in France and Spain, he worked as a photojournalist for the written press. He then attended New York University and produced a number of short films. His first feature film, Machete Joe won several awards including best thriller at the San Diego Black Film Festival.
