Susan Jackson(IV)

Susan Jackson received voice training at the Royal Manchester College
of Music. After her studies in Manchester, she went to the London Opera
Centre where she spent three years at the school's centre for advanced
singers. She went on to sing with the New Opera Company at the
Cheltenham Festival, at the Glyndebourne Festival, and on British radio
and television where she appeared in The Marriage of Figaro. She joined
the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company in 1967 as principal soprano, appearing
as Phyllis in "Iolanthe", Rose Maybud in "Ruddigore", Patience in
"Patience", Gianetta in "The Gondoliers", and Josephine in "H.M.S.
Pinafore". She left the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company in August 1969.
Susan later sang on tour in A Waltz Dream, and appeared at the Players'
Theatre, London, in Old Time Music Hall. Miss Jackson played the title
character in "Patience", Phyllis in "Iolanthe", Psyche in "Princess
Ida" and Gianetta in "The Gondoliers" at Gawsworth Hall, Cheshire, in
the late 1980s, and has appeared in several "Together Again" concerts
in the 1990s.
