“Everything here feels inspiring,” says costume designer Nancea Ceo, scanning the shelves at Arcana: Books on the Arts. “It is like a museum.”

Clearly, Zoë Kravitz is her mother's daughter. Thirty years after Lisa Bonet posed nude for the May 19, 1988 cover of Rolling Stone's "Hot Issue" (shot by Matthew Rolston), the 50-year-old actor's 29-year-old daughter has recreated the provocative photo shoot with Zooey Grossman for the magazine's November "Hot Issue." "Technically," Zoë jokes, "this is my second cover." Because at the time, Lisa was two months pregnant with Zoë. "I've always loved that cover so much," says the actor, who plays Leta Lestrange in Warner Bros.' Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (in theaters Nov. 16). "When I think of Rolling Stone,...

Cannes, France (AP) — A documentary chronicling Michael Jackson in his last years has been acquired at the Cannes Film Festival. "Michael: The Last Photo Shoots" follows the late superstar as he prepared for his ill-fated comeback. It features interviews with the photographers as well as his stylists and friends. Renowned photographer Bruce Weber photographed Jackson in 2007 for the re-release of "Thriller" on its 25th anniversary, and celebrity photographer Matthew Rolston shot him the same year for Ebony magazine, his first U.S. magazine interview in years. Lightning Entertainment has acquired the international sale rights. Its executive vice president, Ken Dubow, said in a statement Thursday that the documentary will provide fans with "a rare behind-the-scenes look into his life." Jackson died shortly before his London comeback concerts in 2009. "Xscape," a second posthumous album, was released this week. Copyright © 2014 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.

It’s no secret we love Adam Lambert and the energy and joy he brings to the otherwise sterile, manufactured world of modern pop music. But he’s such a worldwide whirling dervish that it’s sometimes difficult to keep track of where and when he touches down. Hence our weekly feature Hump Day With Adam Lambert, which will hopefully keep us up-to-date with his appearances, performances, and interviews. And on those weeks when Adam’s talents lie dormant, we bring you classic pics and performances.
After last week’s Life Ball extravaganza, Adam cooled the pace a bit. This week’s Hump Day will have a little bit of everything, from Adam honored in L.A., to Adam flipping the bird … for a good cause.
Let’s start things off by with some pics and captions from Adam’s Instagram Account.

Award-winning photographer Matthew Rolston is known worldwide for his celebrity portraits, which have featured prominently in Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, Vanity Fair, W, and New York Times Magazine. But this time he's chosen a horrifying new theme for latest new photo book: one hundred ghoulish portraits of vintage ventriloquist dummies. Entitled Talking Heads, the new book features a full-color gallery of exhibits from the little-known Vent Haven Museum in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky. CBS News posted an online photo gallery spotlighting some of Rolston's more disturbing subjects from the book, and you can see the whole thing here. If you're prepared for a lifetime of intense therapy, you can purchase the entire book from Pointed Leaf Press. Sweet dreams...

Jennifer Love Hewitt is reaffirming that she's "a woman ... W-o-m-a-n."
Little doubt is left by her striptease to the song made famous 50 years ago by Peggy Lee, in a video promoting the Season 2 premiere of Hewitt's Lifetime series "The Client List" Sunday, March 10. The actress-producer also croons the tune, and it's not her first time on that performance route: She did similar gyrating last year in a "Client List" promo in which she sang the "Sweet Charity" number "Big Spender."
"It's exactly what I hoped for," Hewitt tells Zap2it of the response the ads have generated. "Both of them have been based on a little dream I had of what we should do, and we had the help of [director-photographer] Matthew Rolston and Randy Jackson this time, which was just awesome. I don't think I've ever had as much fun as I did that day, and we've absolutely loved the reaction.

Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Lifetime series The Client List returns March 10, and once again, she’s promoting the show with a sexy music video. This time, the “BareNaked” singer belts out “I’m a Woman” clothed in fringed lingerie. The track was produced by Randy Jackson, the video directed by Matthew Rolston, and the moves, we assume, inspired by Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera (circa Burlesque), and Channing Tatum’s spinning dubstep Magic Mike routine combined with the wet Flashdance number. So, in short, very original!

Julia Roberts, Mirror Mirror Tarsem Singh's Mirror Mirror, Relativity Media's Snow White movie, stars Lily Collins, Julia Roberts, and Armie Hammer as respectively, Snow White, the Evil Queen, and Prince Charming. As the light, colorful, cartoonish Mirror Mirror trailer clearly demonstrates (see below), apart from the medieval-looking settings and the presence of Snow White, her friends, her foe, and her lover, Mirror Mirror will have little in common with Rupert Sanders' grittier Snow White and the Huntsman, which stars Kristen Stewart, Liam Hemsworth, and Charlize Theron as, respectively, Snow White, the Huntsman, and the Evil Queen. After some dancing about, Mirror Mirror is scheduled to open March 16; Snow White and the Huntsman hits theaters on June 1. Regardless of what pundits say, those movies will not be in competition with one another. Relativity Media is marketing Mirror Mirror to the PG crowd (the video was released on Nickelodeon's...

Lily Collins, Mirror Mirror: Snow White and Seven Dwarves Mark Povinelli, Jordan Prentice, Danny Woodburn, Sebastian Saraceno, Ronald Lee Clark, Martin Klebba, Joe Gnoffo Tarsem Singh's Snow White project for Relativity Media has finally been baptized: Mirror Mirror. Lily Collins, Julia Roberts, and Armie Hammer star as, respectively, Snow White, the Evil Queen, and Prince Charming. Making things a bit confusing, Universal's rival Snow White movie, Snow White and the Huntsman, stars Kristen Stewart, Liam Hemsworth, and Charlize Theron as, respectively, Snow White, the Huntsman, and the Evil Queen. According to various images showing Collins as Snow White, she looks precious little like Disney's poisoned-apple-eating heroine. Directed by Rupert Sanders, Kristen Stewart's Snow White is even further out there, having more in common with Joan of Arc or Mia Wasikowska's armor-wearing Alice in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. After some dancing around, release dates were set for both films.

Ladies of Desperate Housewives Pose for Season 8
ABC’s long running comedy-drama series, Desperate Housewives, is entering it’s final season after being on air for seven years. But since this the last season, there’s a bit of sadness that comes with this image, as it’s one of the last we’ll ever see of this group of people together. Even if you don’t watch the show, you should at least feel sad for those that do.It was EW who got the first look at this portrait, taken by photographer Matthew Rolston. Rizzoli & Isles is still going strong, and now that we're already a few episodes into the second season, I want to make sure you're among those giving this one a shot.
I'll be honest with you, this isn't the sort of show that has much to convince me on paper. The first couple of episodes the first season didn't help, but I started to get pulled in as the season went on. I threw my hands in the air at the season finale, and had just about given up, but the new season is turning things around for me. It seems like we're focusing our attention on more interesting aspects of our characters, and given a few more, we may be in a really good spot.
The real sell so far is that Isles is becoming more interesting, and the show is getting to a place...

Chicago – The battle for summer cable dominance continues with another night of new programming on TNT as the very-popular “The Closer” and “Rizzoli & Isles” return for new seasons on Monday nights. With strong female leads and cleverly-devised mysteries, these are strong programs for what they are and they make a solid pair at the start of a long work week. They’re not going to change your life or be your favorite shows of the season, but they deliver what they promise.
TV Rating: 3.5/5.0
“The Closer”
Perhaps the intense, crowded slate of programming on TNT this summer (with 8 shows airing this season) is because the network knows they’re about to take some ratings and publicity damage when they lose their biggest hit (and one of the highest-rated programs in cable history). “The Closer” is coming to an end after seven strong seasons on the air that arguably peaked with...

"America's Next Top Model" tested the model hopefuls for personality on Wednesday night's episode and Tyra Banks declared that Esther was found wanting. She said that Esther was a beautiful, curvy model, but she wasn't right for commercials. Now "The Insider" talks to the 18-year-old from Boston, Ma, who was also criticized for having large breasts, and she revealed what a professional model said to her about having a reduction. "The Insider": How hard was it to get this far and then to be sent home because Tyra said the judges felt you didn't show your personality enough? Esther: It is hard, but it is hard for every girl who goes home. I went in thinking I would be one of the first two to go. I went in thinking, "It is really cool that I made it this far. I am really proud of myself. But let’s be real.

Hailing from Massachusetts but born in Israel, brunette beauty Esther Petrack was memorable on this cycle of America's Next Top Model for several reasons: First, she took this gorgeous photo at right with fashion photographer Matthew Rolston, easily one of my favorites, if not #1, from the season so far. More on that below. She also entered the cast with a splash, revealing to the judges her 30G chest size and that she is an observing Orthodox Jew. She promised neither would get in her way as a model--and they didn't.
What got in Esther's way, surprisingly enough, was that the judges deemed her not memorable during the all-important photo shoots. I had the chance to chat with Esther, who's currently back in Israel, on the phone this morning about her time on Top Model, including what the other girls in the house thought of her, and what she thought of their latest challenge,...

I just don't understand, but it is not a big deal to me. I didn't really dwell on that that much. It was a real roller coaster ride on Wednesday night's "America's Next Top Model" when the aspiring models were taken to Knott's Berry Farm to ride a 140-foot high, thrill-a-minute ride and were asked to pose while on it. Then, they were photographed as gorgeous mermaids by Matthew Rolston, who was also this week's guest judge. Rhianna survived the roller coaster, but after the judges conferred, she was out. Now, "The Insider" talks to the ousted model about her time on the show and her plans going forward. "The Insider": Do you think there was something you could have done different that would have kept you in the competition when you look back at it? Rhianna: I guess been more dramatic. I didn't have much to say that captured their attention. "The Insider": You seemed to have had a very positive attitude about all the challenges. Didn't that count for anything?...

We're sure that there's plenty to learn about modeling from "America's Next Top Model," but there's also plenty of lessons we would say you shouldn't adopt.
In Wednesday's Sept. 29 episode, host Tyra Banks took the models up high and then underwater while attempting to teach them a lesson about a model's work ethic (which is much like what bad parents tell children - sit down and shut up).
Liz, who has been testing Mr. Jay Manuel's last nerve with her constant complaining, was in the bottom two this week. Mostly she was there, because she once again complained during the shoot that glittery eye makeup was running into her eyes, making it hard to keep them open. By the way, imagine tiny little ninja stars -- that's glitter! "Antm's" message? No one cares, Liz. Fight through the pain.
Well, I'm not sure I agree with that. I wear...

Diane von Furstenberg, Zac Posen and Roberto Cavalli will reportedly be among the guest stars on the new season of America's Next Top Model. According to the Los Angeles Times, Patrick Demarchelier and Matthew Rolston will also appear in the 15th cycle of the CW series, which will see the winner scooping a lucrative photoshoot with Italian Vogue. The magazine's editor Franca Sozzani will also feature as a guest judge, and told the newspaper that it had been a different experience for her: "It's very strange because usually I see the book or talk to the photographer and they show me their photos. Two things that are not synonymous: America’s Next Top Model and class. Cycle after cycle I tune in to this guilty pleasure to see Tyra’s antics, house drama, and the highly anticipated makeover week. (Oh and, of course, moments like this.) How could I possibly resist?
But it appears Tyra and the Antm crew are stepping it up this season with some classy, high-fashion judges stemming from a partnership with Italian Vogue. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show’s 15th cycle, which premieres Sept. 8, will feature the likes of photographer Patrick Demarchelier, photographer-director Matthew Rolston, and designers Diane von Furstenberg,...

A new crop of highly-regarded fashion insiders will appear as guest judges on America's Next Top Model this fall.
Photographer Patrick Demarchelier, photographer-director Matthew Rolston, and designers Diane von Furstenberg, Zac Posen and Roberto Cavalli will offer critiques on the 15th cycle of Tyra Bank's CW series, which premieres Sept. 8.
While celebrities such as Victoria Beckham and Jennifer Lopez have appeared on the show in the past, it is now attracting prestigious industry insiders thanks to a partnership with Italian Vogue, says the Los Angeles Times.
"We've always been a very mainstream show... a hidden secret or guilty secret of the fashion world," executive producer Ken Mok told the Times Tuesday. "No one confesses out loud to watching it. But the second we went out and told the world that Italian Vogue was going to be the prize… that completely opened the doors, carte blanche, to any and everybody we wanted.

We knew that Vanessa Williams would create a stir on Wisteria when we were the first to report she was in talks to join "Desperate Housewives" fresh off her stint as Wilhelmina on "Ugly Betty."
But, we could have never predicted she would create a changing of the guard. In the new promo photo for Season 7 released by ABC and first posted by EW, Williams is front and center and looking smokin' hot. They all do, really.
The other surprise? Apparently, they've ditched the blond wig she was reportedly going to don as Renee, the cougar with a marriage on the rocks and her eyes on Bree's younger man, played by Brian Austin Greene.
If the producers were hoping to show a revitalized "Desperate Housewives," this photo sure does the job, no?

Back in my high school days, I was an avid reader of Rolling Stone magazine but then became hit or miss over the intervening years. Until today, that is, when a very sexy ... and very bloody ... picture of the three "True Blood" stars hit the Net. Oh yes, we will be picking up the new issue for sure!
The following is an excerpt of an article from the September 2, 2010 issue of Rolling Stone featuring Alexander Skarsgard, Anna Paquin, and Stephen Moyer. It'll be available tomorrow (August 18th) on newsstands and Friday, August 20th, online via Rolling Stone's premium subscription plan.
The idea of celibate vampires is ridiculous, True Blood creator Alan Ball says. "To me, vampires are sex," he says. "I don't get a vampire story about abstinence. I'm 53. I don't care about high school students. I find them irritating and uninformed." On his show every available orifice is used for intercourse: gay,...

“No makeup” photos make the news about once a year, but let us not become desensitized to the power of an actress volunteering for one. It shouldn’t be a big deal, but in today’s tabloid/blog world, it is. Teri Hatcher, 45, posted 8 photos of herself to her Facebook page Tuesday, taken alone in her bathroom after a bedtime bath the previous evening. “Thought about all those damn critics of my face. Love it or hate it, my face that is, no surgery, no implants, no matter what ‘they’ say. Decided I’d shoot myself in to reveal some...

Who says being single means you’re not completely successful? Lauren Graham does not agree – and neither do we.
Lauren Graham has dated a slew of well-known actors — Marc Blucas, Tate Donovan, and Matthew Perry, to name a few — but at 42, the former Gilmore Girl star still hasn’t settled down — and is actually fine with that, thank you very much.
“What is so funny to me is I’m in a profession where two percent of people are working,” Lauren explains in the March issue of More magazine, adding, “Yet there’s still this implication that you’re not completely successful if you’re single and in your forties. Well, why not? I wanted a horse when I was growing up too. Does that mean I’m not successful, because I don’t have a horse?”

After last September's dirty, but respectable barely there bikini cover for Playboy, reports say surgically enhanced Heidi Montag 2.0 is ready to go topless.
"Heidi would love to do another [Playboy] cover," a source "exceedingly close" to Montag told MSNBC.
One would think that the Wtf response from fans, family and friends to Heidi's extreme home makeover would make her feel a bit overexposed. I'm sorry, we're talking about media hoarder Heidi Montag.
"Heidi loves her new body, but she's especially happy about her breast implants," a source told In Touch Weekly. "She could use the money, and she's finally ready to pose topless, so she is negotiating with the magazine."
MSNBC reports the paycheck will be in the seven figures. Sources say Heidi wants to go the "classy" route: a naked shower scene (not cliche, at all).

On Sunday night, "Hills" star Heidi Montag took to the stage for her first live televised musical performance. She appeared at the Miss Universe pageant, live from the Bahamas, to sing her single "Body Language" from her self-titled debut album, out in September.
Donning sparkly, nude-colored track pants with a tuxedo stripe and a black jacket, flanked by dancers, Heidi, who spent this past week practicing for the performance, removed the jacket to expose a nude-colored bra. It was a move that was similar to Britney Spears' 2000 Vma performance, during which she stripped down while singing "Oops! ... I Did It Again." And although Heidi smiled and seemed somewhat comfortable on the stage throughout her performance, she's not quite at Britney's level just yet.
