Christy Carlson Romano – the voice of the original Kim Possible – will have a cameo in the live-action Disney Channel movie update, set for a 2019 debut.
Romano revealed her appearance today during “D23’s Saturday Morning on the Lot,” a live event held at the Burbank studios celebrating ABC and Disney Channel cartoons from 1997–2007, including the original Kim Possible animated series.
Also revealed: comedian/actor Patton Oswalt will play Professor Dementor in the live action. Oswalt was the voice of Dementor in the original animated series.

The live action Disney Channel movie version of animated hit Kim Possible has announced some casting additions, led by Alyson Hannigan and Connie Ray (The Big C).
Also joining the cast are Todd Stashwick (12 Monkeys) and Taylor Ortega, who will play fan-favorite villains Drakken and Shego, respectively; Ciara Wilson (Omg!) has been cast as new high school student Athena; and Erika Tham (Make It Pop) will play Kim’s childhood frenemy, Bonnie.

Newcomer Sadie Stanley and The Goldbergs‘ Sean Giambrone have been tapped to star as Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable in Kim Possible, Disney Channel’s live-action movie based on the hit animated series. The comedy-adventure will go into production this summer and is set to debut in 2019.
Kim Possible is about an everyday high school girl who, in her spare time, saves the world from villains.
“Sadie delivers Kim’s confidence, smarts, and agility; most importantly, she’s an everyday girl with an extraordinary spirit,” said Judy Taylor, senior vice president, Casting and Talent Relations, Disney Channel. “Sean is such a magnetic actor; he always finds the right balance of physical comedy and heart. We’re excited for audiences to see Sadie and Sean bring these iconic roles to life,” Taylor added.
A native of Columbia, South Carolina, 16-year-old Stanley landed the role in her first-ever audition. She has since guest-starred on Game Shakers.

MTV recently shook up its West Coast casting department. The music channel, which has steadily expanded its programing, added a new casting director and lost one senior staffer to a rival network.Blyth Nailling, who had been an independent casting director, signed on at MTV as the new director of talent and casting, overseeing casting for the channel's scripted and reality programing. Prior to joining MTV, Nailling was a co-casting director at Marc Hirschfeld Casting where she had extensive experience casting network comedies. She worked on CW's "One Tree Hill" and ABC's "Scrubs" and "Cougar Town" among others.Nailling's first day on the job was April 30.Meanwhile, MTV's casting department lost one staffer in the shakeup. Jonathan Groce, who had held the title of manager of West Coast talent and casting, left the channel in mid April for the Cartoon Network. He's currently listed as the director of talent development for Adult.
