After winning the "Adriano Belli" Singing Competition in Spoleto, Italy in 1967, she made her debut as Rosina in Rossini's "Barber of Seville". As a lirico-leggero soprano, she stood out in the "bel canto" repertoire (Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti) as well as in some operas by Giuseppe Verdi. Until 1992 she sang in major opera houses throughout the world.
