Creative power house Emalia, as she is mononymously known, is an Australian RnB/Pop artist, songwriter and actress. Hailed as the nation's "new RNB princess on the rise", Emalia is defined by her unique musical identity, ultra-confident persona and a voice with the prowess of SZA, Ella Mai and Summer Walker.
An experienced and comfortable performer since the age of 5, Emalia has performed to thousands in arena's such as the WIN Entertainment Centre, and notably the Qantas Credit Union Arena in Sydney, where she sang for the Australian Youth Olympics Opening Ceremony in 2013, and again as a featured artist in The Schools Spectacular aired on national television in the same year. She's performed on morning shows like 'Sunrise', and appeared as a guest on the Australian Disney channel segment 'Hanging With' in 2017. Emalia landed her first television feature role as 'Natalie' in episode 1 of Australian Gangster, aired in 2021.
Her debut EP 'Unmuted' (released with Sony Music Australia) features previously released tracks 'Suga Rush' and 'IOU' featuring renowned US rapper Guapdad 4000. Additionally the focus single 'Messy' was produced and written with Carmen Reece (Kanye West, Teyana Taylor) & PK Degeddingseze (2Chainz, Chris Brown, Toni Braxton). Emalia writes and co-writes all of her music, and is heavily involved in every creative facet of her art; from her visuals to the engineering of her lush vocal arrangements. With her fusion of soulful, bass heavy R&B/Pop, the singer-songwriter has amassed over 1.2 million streams on Spotify alone.
In 2020, Emalia performed as a feature artist for Taka Perry's Triple J Like A Version. Other recent highlights include: supporting Jessica Mauboy for the most watched YouTube Music Session of the year, hosting a virtual fan event with Madison Beer, and selling out her debut run of headline shows.
Emalia is set to star in the the new Australian drama series "Paper Dolls", playing the lead role of popstar Izzy James. The show will premiere December 3rd on Paramount Plus, along side the independent release of her new single "Stacks".
