If you ever watched Pixar’s heartwarming, imaginative 2009 film Up and thought, “Wow, I’d sure love to see what that big floating house would be like to live in,” you might be getting your chance.
As a part of Airbnb’s new “Icons” line of vacation homes, the house from Up has been painstakingly recreated in Abiquiu, New Mexico and is available to book now. The Airbnb listing, which celebrates the 15th anniversary of Up, is “hosted” by the film’s protagonist Carl Frederickson and features a myriad of elements from the original film — Ellie’s Adventure Book, Dug the talking dog, and yes, the balloons. The listing features a photo of the balloon-laden property being lifted by a crane high up in the air, so if you rent, you might want to hold onto the porch railing when stepping outside.
The two-bed, one-bathroom “Up House” also promises activities like “wilderness excursions,...

#TikTokShortFilm is back, and in its third year, the contest is expanding. For the first time, U.S.-based creators can submit artistic, minute-long work to the competition, which will culminate with an award ceremony at the Festival De Cannes in May.
More than 55 countries are included in the #TikTokShortFilm contest, which celebrates short-form art while reinforcing “TikTok’s commitment to the entertainment and film industry,” according to an announcement from the video app. Submitted work will be presented in TikTok’s signature vertical format, but slower-paced entries will be considered as well. In its announcement, TikTok calls for “1min+ videos,” underscoring its recent investment in longer uploads.
“#TikTokShortFilm has helped define TikTok’s role as a launchpad for both emerging and established filmmakers around the world,” reads the announcement. “Since it first launched in 2022, the #TikTokShortFilm competition has empowered many creators to turn their passion into new career opportunities...

Khaby Lame, the Senegalese-born Italian influencer who is the most-followed content creator on TikTok, is set to make his feature film debut playing a food delivery rider who is recruited by the CIA in an action-comedy that will take him around the world.
The English-language spy comedy working-titled “00Khaby” – and set in Italy, the U.S., Monte Carlo, Dubai and France’s Côte d’Azur, among other locations – will see Lame playing a JustEat rider who, after intersecting with a dissident scientist, is recruited by the CIA as bait to mislead enemy secret services. “While he runs away from arms traffickers and steals DNA samples, the clumsy secret agent must also deal with his jealous Italian Chinese girlfriend and her annoying little brother,” reads the film’s synopsis. “But in the end, thanks to a mix of cunning, luck and his unshakeable optimism, he will be able to foil no less than World War III.

Movies are a hot discussion topic on TikTok, and the app is reminding film executives that its community holds sway over pop culture trends. Several stars from #FilmTok are in attendance at the Sundance Film Festival after TikTok invited its silver screen tastemakers to join its contingent at the annual Park City, Utah event.
The creators who are present at Sundance include Joe Aragon (a.k.a. Cinema Joe) and Maddi Koch (a.k.a. Maddi Moo). According to The Hollywood Reporter, the follower counts of the #FilmTok representatives cover a wide range; Spencer Cook‘s 200,000 followers put him on the low end, while The Nobodys top the list with nearly ten million followers.

In 2022, Netflix released a live-action series based on the "Resident Evil" video games, just a few months removed from the "Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness" anime series for the streamer. Not to mention, Johannes Roberts' cinematic reboot, "Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City." That film came just four years after the end of Paul W.S. Anderson's mega-blockbuster film series starring Milla Jovovich, which ran concurrently with a series of unrelated animated films and many installments of the video game. This is all to say that "Resident Evil," as a property, has grown beyond just the games, and that the fandom has splintered off into a variety of directions and mediums. Trying to appease the whole of the "Resident Evil" community with an adaptation is at this point, impossible. Too many people want too many different things, and those differences are often in direct opposition to one another.

Khaby Lame is following a trend set by several other big-name creators. The TikTok star has joined MrBeast and Jake Paul by becoming a playable character in a video game. In Lame’s case, he’s dropping into Fortnite with an unlockable avatar inspired by his likeness.
Players can access the Khaby Lame skin through the Battle Pass system operated by Fortnite developer Epic Games. After unlocking the cosmetic item, players can don their Khaby Lame disguises to attempt a heist event dubbed “Last Resort.”
Lame’s addition to the Fortnite universe is part of the game’s “icon series,” which also includes playable characters inspired by streamers like Ninja and TheGrefg. As the Italian TikTok star prepared to join that illustrious group, he worked closely with Epic Games to ensure that his avatar adopted his mannerisms. His silent reactions to ridiculous TikTok videos have made him the most-followed creator on the platform.

Exclusive: Bella Thorne (Divinity) and Jack Kilmer (Palo Alto) have been set to topline The Tower, one of 102 projects to have been granted a SAG-AFTRA Interim Agreement following the launch of the actors strike. Also set for the fantastical drama, from filmmaker Adam Sigal (Nandor Fodor and The Talking Mongoose), are Cam Gigandet (Violent Night) and Chris Mullinax (Chariot).
The film currently in production is billed as a dark tale about a mysterious mermaid trapped and forgotten for years in the water tower of a small Southern town. Sigal described it as his “attempt to interpret the isolation and wanderlust I felt growing up in a small Southern town.”
The Tower is among the projects that began shooting shortly before the SAG-AFTRA strike launched and went on pause in the wake of the walkout until the securement of a SAG waiver. Producers are B.I. Rosen, Frederic Demey, James Bruce,...

Italy’s Taormina Film Festival kicks off its 69th edition Friday evening against the backdrop of its landmark Teatro Antico amphitheatre with a “Pavarotti Forever” benefit event headlined by Placido Domingo and Vittorio Grigolo.
It’s not the typical opening for a film festival, but it is in keeping with the eclectic programming of incoming artistic director Barrett Wissman, whose interview with Deadline on his plans for the festival can be read here.
Much is riding on the edition, with Wissman being brought in to raise its local and international profile after a turbulent decade, which was compounded by the Covid pandemic.
Topping the bill over the first weekend is the Italian premiere of Indiana Jones and the Dial Of Destiny in the presence of Harrison Ford, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Mads Mikkelsen. It’s the first time a major Disney production has touched down at the festival since Inside Out in 2015. Indiana Jones,...

As Khaby Lame sets his sights of the film industry, he’s getting a boost from a fellow influencer. Lame’s directorial debut will premiere at the Taormina Film Festival, where the TikTok star’s short film will be included in a showcase put together by Bella Thorne.
The Hollywood Reporter noted that details about Lame’s short film are being kept under wraps for now. The Italian funnyman’s wordless riffs on viral lifehacks have made him the most-followed creator on TikTok. Since rising to fame, he’s become a regular presence at film festivals across Europe. Most-followed TikToker Khaby Lame has already become a spokesman, fashion model, and Nft creator. For his next act, the 22-year-old supernova will serve as a judge on the 13th season of Italia’s Got Talent.
Lame will be one of four panelists for the upcoming entry in the Got Talent franchise. The Italian version of the show first aired in 2009, three years after America’s Got Talent premiered on NBC. For its thirteenth season, Italia’s Got Talent is moving to Disney+. According to Variety, this is the first time a Got Talent format will premiere on a streaming service in Europe.
As Italia’s Got Talent trends toward digital distribution, it is inviting Italy’s biggest TikTok personality to join the fun. Lame will need more than his trademark shrug to be an effective judge. While he may not speak in his videos, he has become an outspoken public figure in Italy.

Khaby Lame, the Senegalese-born Italian social media personality who is the world’s most followed content creator on TikTok, has joined “Italia’s Got Talent” as a juror.
Lame is a former factory worker in Italy who after being laid off from his job in March 2020 launched a TikTok channel in which he performed absurdly comic skits that went wildly viral.

When viewers watching the Feb. 12 Super Bowl stick around for the always anticipated commercial breaks, they may find a bit more than they bargained for.

Khaby Lame from TikTok, meet Jake from State Farm.
The two screen icons — one from social media and the other from TV commercials — have teamed up to launch the #StateFarmStadium challenge. The contest shares its name with the stadium that will host Super Bowl Lvii on February 12.
To compete in the challenge, entrants must guess how many times State Farm Stadium will be mentioned during Fox’s Super Bowl broadcast. One winner will get the chance to meet Lame and will appear in one of his TikToks.
Both of the #StateFarmStadium headliners have used their accounts to promote the challenge. Lame introduced the guessing game with a video, while Jake offered a 15-second snippet of his training routine. To be eligible for the grand prize, #StateFarmStadium entrants must respond to Lame’s video while also following Jake on TikTok.

A social media star has taken home the mirrorball trophy. Charli D’Amelio, who has attracted nearly 150 million subscribers on her TikTok account, has won the 31st season of Dancing with the Stars.
D’Amelio, who danced competitively for a decade, became one of the internet’s top influencers by sharing her aerobic routines with her fans. The 18-year-old was TikTok’s most-followed creator until she was overtaken by Italian funnyman Khaby Lame earlier this year.
Given her history, D’Amelio was pegged as a DWTS frontrunner after she and her mother Heidi entered the show’s 31st season. Alongside partner Mark Ballas, the youngest member of the D’Amelio family got off to a strong start and only improved as the competition went along. Heading into the finale, she had chalked up four perfect scores.
As per usual, D’Amelio’s success drew some snippy comments from the peanut gallery.

A team of painters were at work this week restoring the mega-photographed Hollywood sign, a mission that carries a perverse irony.
All week I’ve been assaulted by studies and reports describing how Hollywood, the industry town, has essentially surrendered its leadership in the universe of pop culture.
The message: The industry has dimmed its vision even though the Hollywood sign may linger on.

Originally signaling a real estate development, the Hollywood sign’s construction coincided with the first Oscars and thus became an optimistic symbol for the future of glitz and glamor. Now, decades later, the “founders” would be daunted by the cutbacks and layoffs that characterize today’s Hollywood.

The TikToker and singer Bella Poarch has been really busy recently releasing music, and now releasing her own figurine.
In a creative video, she just let her fans know that she has a Funko figure on the way.
In this video, she is wearing a fabulous leather black top and some matching shorts.
She kept that black leather moment going a bit longer by wearing a pair of fingerless gloves, as well as rocking some thigh-high leather boots.
Her dark hair was styled in her iconic hairstyle. Two straight and long pigtails fall flawlessly on her sides, as well as some front pieces she pulled out to frame her face.
The promotional video showed Poarch entering a life-size Funko box where she slowly turned into her figurine character.

Emmy-award-winning reality TV dance competition “Dancing With the Stars” (DWTS for short) returned for its 31st season on Monday, September 19, 2022. The premiere episode treated the studio and home audience once and again to electrifying dance moves and of course the dreaded evictions.
“America’s Next Top Model” creator and host, Tyra Banks makes her third appearance as the host of the show alongside her new co-host, season 19 winner, Alfonso Ribeiro. Similarly, the judges are still the ones you’re familiar with the show — Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, Derek Hough, and Carrie Ann Inaba. As expected, the cast is new and so are their dance partner pairings. In all, the premiere night didn’t disappoint in any way.
This article discusses the notable moments from the “Dancing With the Stars” season 31 premiere episode, as well as casts and other relevant info about the new season.

The episodes will feature celebrity guests including Khaby Lame in his first American sit-down interview, as well as Liza Koshy, Chloe Kim, Swae Lee, Elsa Majimbo, Amanda Seales, Alton Mason and Nas.
As Shahidi and her peers sit down for these conversations, she’ll start by asking one question: “What is the one question that no one ever asks, that you wish they would?”

Khaby Lame became the most-followed creator on TikTok this year. Now he’s almost ready to enter the next phase of his career, but he needs to perfect his English first.
The Italian star, who has used wordless TikToks to turn himself from a factory worker into a Boss, has his eye on Hollywood. He told Fortune that his “dream” is to win an Oscar — even though he is on track to make about 10 million this year from TikTok and other ventures.
Lame’s desire to make it in Tinseltown is compelling him to improve his English. He practices the language by watching the kids’ show Daniel Tiger for three hours daily. “My dream is that one day we’ll win an Oscar,” he told Fortune.
The “we” in that quote is Lame and Alessandro Riggio, his manager. They are flatmates in an apartment in Milan, but they could definitely...

September is a huge month in the fashion world. New York Fashion Week kicks off on September 9 and runs through the 13th. Milan‘s week-long celebration of style will begin on September 20. Only six days after that, Paris Fashion Week will get its turn on the runway. So there’s no better month for YouTube to bring a flurry of activity to its three-year-old /fashion hub.
YouTube’s “jammed pack [sic] month of fashion” will include a YouTube Shorts campaign, a pop-up showroom in New York City, and dozens of new videos from top fashionistas across the platform. Those videos, along with many others, will be made available on the YouTube Spotlight page.
To kick off this month-long celebration of haute couture, YouTube Shorts will invite users to #RemakeTheRunway. The campaign will promote the practice of “upcycling,” in which designers repurpose old threads from thrift stores and closets to create high-fashion looks.

Charli D’Amelio looks absolutely stunning in a tight yellow bustier with a green Prada bag.
The American Tiktok star poses for a set of pictures on her balcony.
Unless you have been living under a rock, you know who this 18 year old is.
D’Amelio is seen wearing a yellow bustier, which is a very risky color to wear, and not a lot of people look good in it. However, this is no problem for her.
She chose to pair this top with a pair of grey glen check shorts.
To accessorize this look she put on some silver hoops, a silver padlock necklace, and a bracelet.

The inevitable has happened. For the first time, a TikTok dancer will appear on Dancing with the Stars. And yes, of course, it’s Charli D’Amelio.
The 18-year-old star, who has been described as the “queen of TikTok,” will vie for the Mirrorball Trophy during the 31st season of the long-running competition series. To earn the top prize, D’Amelio will have to out-dance a slew of other contestants, including a member of her own family. Heidi D’Amelio, Charli’s mother, will also be part of the season 31 cast. Rather than serving as her daughter’s dance partner, Heidi will go up against her. Good luck, mom!
The younger D’Amelio will add her name to the list of internet personalities who have competed on DWTS. Other members of that group include YouTube fashionista Bethany Mota, one-time Vine star Hayes Grier, acrobatic violinist Lindsey Stirling, and YouTube standout Jojo Siwa.

Break out the spumante, because Italy’s most prominent TikToker has reason to celebrate. Khaby Lame, who has lived in Italy since he was one year old, officially gained his Italian citizenship during a ceremony in his hometown of Chivasso.
Lame was born in Senegal, but the 22-year-old creator has spent almost his entire life in Chivasso, where he was employed as a factory worker. After he was laid off at the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, he turned to TikTok to make ends meet — and the rest, as they say, is history.
Though Lame is thoroughly Italian, he had a tricky path to citizenship due to his African birthplace. In an interview with Italian newspaper La Repubblica, the TikTok star spoke out against his home country’s strict policy toward foreign nationals. “It’s not right that a person who lives and grows up with the Italian culture for so many years,...

Days after becoming the most-followed creator on TikTok, Khaby Lame is expanding his presence in the wild world of Web3. The man known for his wordless videos will serve as a brand ambassador for crypto exchange Binance. In that role, he will launch Nft collections of his own and will create clips that will aim to debunk common Web3 myths.
According to Cointelegraph, Lame described the Binance deal as one that "aligns perfectly" with his preferred style of content. The 22-year-old Italian creator rose to prominence with short-form videos that silently skewer the faulty logic depicted in viral TikTok posts. Lame often pokes fun at "lifehacks" that don't make sense or are needlessly complicated. After he shows simpler ways to solve problems, he delivers his signature shrug to the camera.

After two years on hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, VidCon — the annual convention for fans, creators, and online platform industry types — returned to the Anaheim Convention Center last week. But it looked a little different than usual.
For starters, the ear-piercing shrieks of fans lining up to meet their favorite creators were just a little quieter. VidCon, the marquee gathering for creators and influencers, was poised for a triumphant return to Anaheim after its two-year Covid-19 hiatus. And this year, TikTok — the once upstart platform that skyrocketed during the pandemic to more than 1-billion plus active users — was taking over YouTube’s spot as the conference’s title sponsor, promising the presence of top TikTok creators and an injection of new energy into the 12-year-old conference.
The creator economy has skyrocketed in the past few years, with the market size for consumers spending money on creators projected to grow from 9.8 billion to more than 18 billion, according to an October 2021 report from UTA. And with that growth has come sizable budgets from brands inking lucrative deals with talent and sustained interest from burgeoning creators seeking to monetize their followings and turn their content into a business. In Khaby Lame's case, a video is worth a thousand words. The content creator has dethroned Charli D'Amelio as being the most-followed person on TikTok, racking up more than 142.9 million followers, all without ever saying a word. In his duet videos, Khaby, reacts to popular clips of life hacks that are often more complicated than they should be. Oftentimes, he's seen simply shrugging or offering an exasperated head shake. Say hello to TikTok's new top creator. If he doesn't say hi back, don't worry -- not speaking is kinda his thing.
I'm talking, of course, about Khaby Lame, the Senegal-born, Italy-based star known for his mute reactions to viral videos. Lame has emerged as one of the biggest creators on social media, and now he has the numbers to prove it. He has passed Charli D'Amelio to become TikTok's most-followed account.
Lame now has 143 million followers to go along with the 2.3 billion likes his videos have registered. That puts his follower count just ahead of the younger D'Amelio sister, who reaches 142.3 million fans on her account. It's worth noting that Charli is far ahead of Khaby when it comes to likes, as she's racked up more than 11 billion of them over the course of her TikTok career.
