Exclusive: Global TV and film studio Sister is gearing up for a string of projects to hit the small and big screens and today might well see the launch of its most daring.
Netflix’s Eric about a desperate father battling his own demons on the streets of 1980s New York as he searches for his missing nine-year-old son features Benedict Cumberbatch and a custom-made seven foot puppet, which is visible only to Cumberbatch’s character, the flawed Vincent. Abi Morgan’s six-part series ties together themes of belonging, addiction, loss and police brutality in a familiar setting. It was described as Sesame Street meets Taxi Driver by one British reviewer, although Featherstone compared it in scope and theme to Steven Spielberg’s Et.
Speaking exclusively to Deadline, Featherstone said the show is testament to the Chernobyl and This is Going to Hurt studio’s commitment to taking a talent-first approach.

A Cujo-core droid that’s just as adorable as it is terrifying? Sounds like someone we know. We’re looking at you, Kristen! But I’d cut her some slack considering episode 2 of the final season of Evil chucks her life into a tornado of problems. Ben and David have got troubles of their own brewing. And none of the three are bringing it to the table. What could go wrong in such a scenario?
Spoiler Alert
So, what mystery are we half-solving this week?
Kristen’s right. A werewolf that scares easy isn’t the type that’d chase the parish priest and the congregants away. I don’t know how Michelle and Robert King do it, but something as ridiculous as a pair of very fake glowing eyes in the darkness of the graveyard looks absolutely terrifying to us as well as to the investigator trio. The shock...

Hollywood’s It girl, Sydney Sweeney, went all out for one of her most ambitious projects, alongside director Michael Mohan with Immaculate, a direct leap into the horror-thriller genre. Portraying Sister Cecelia, the movie had the actress take on a dark and eerie storyline with scenes involving her drenched in blood, against the backdrop of a picturesque Italian countryside. Soon after its release in theaters worldwide, the film quickly garnered views and praise, climbing up in box office revenue and acclaim.
Sydney Sweeney in a still from Immaculate | Neon
In sharp contrast, its digital release brought about a stringent wave of criticisms aimed not at Sweeney but at the artistic choices made by Mohan. It turns out that those complaints only highlighted a plaguing issue associated with streaming services and had shockingly nothing to do with any of the creative executives involved in the film-making process. The issue has now...

“If you buy her one margarita, she will spread her legs!”
If you’re even a casual user of TikTok, you’ve probably heard this line before. It’s from a speech by Cynthia Smock, a campus evangelist who has spent 40 years touring southern US campuses to preach against drugs, alcohol, sexual promiscuity, and homosexuality. On TikTok, she’s better known as Sister Cindy.
Sister Cindy isn’t your typical sidewalk preacher. She eschews conventional religious commentary for wildly vulgar and over-the-top rants, winning her a devoted (and mostly ironic) fanbase of zoomers on TikTok.

Eric went on a bender and broke up with Nicole. Sister Mary Moira came to town to mourn Susan and chastize Ej. Bonnie's Ptsd had her seeing clowns everywhere. And Will won't be coming home to Salem for Christmas this year.

Was Nicole and Eric's demise as a couple inevitable? Is this finally the end for them, or is it just another spiral on the crazy roller coaster that is their love story?

To call Damon Lindelof ambitious feels a bit like saying James Cameron has a soft spot for the ocean. Shows like "Lost," "The Leftovers," and "Watchmen" have seen the writer and producer wrestling with all manner of daunting topics, from America's legacy of white supremacy to the very meaning of existence and the effects of collective trauma. On the film side, Lindelof has even dared to try his hand at reinventing franchises as legendary as "Star Trek" and "Alien," with polarizing yet undeniably interesting results (to say nothing of his efforts on big swings like "Cowboys & Aliens" and "Tomorrowland").

Polish film and TV writer/director Agnieszka Smoczyńska's biographical film "The Silent Twins" is heading to Peacock. The movie is inspired by the book of the same name written by investigative journalist Marjorie Wallace. Published in 1986 under the title "The Silent Twins: A true story of love and hate, dreams and desolation, genius and destruction," Wallace's book is itself based on the true story of June and Jennifer Gibbons, twin sisters who only communicated with each other, and came to be known as "the silent twins."
Smoczyńska's film is heading to Peacock after getting a very limited theatrical release from Focus Features on September 16, 2022 -- meaning, this is probably the first time most people have even heard of the movie. So, before it joins acclaimed 2022 films like Scott Derrickson's "The Black Phone" on NBCUniversal's streaming service, here's everything you need to know about the film ahead of time.

If nuns make you nervous, you’re not alone. Whether it’s their distinctive religious attire, their unwavering devotion to a higher power, or their reputation for meting out corporal punishment in Catholic school, it’s hard to deny that there’s something vaguely eerie about them at times. As the new supernatural horror film “The Nun 2” prepares to haunt theaters on Sept. 8, here’s a look at 20 other movie nuns that are guaranteed to give you the creeps.

Audiences first met the eerie title character of “The Nun” in the sequel to James Wan’s horror hit “The Conjuring.” Sporting a ghostly complexion, a bad attitude, and a mouthful of rotting fangs that would make Pennywise the clown jealous, the Nun is referred to by several names throughout the film, including the Marquis of Snakes, the Defiler, and the demon Valak.
