According to former player Greg Rusedski, Coco Gauff is a crowd magnet, as we recently saw the 2023 US Open.
You could make an argument that the New York crowd was more interested in the women's US Open final than the men's one . Having an American play in the final contributed to that but it's actually more to do with the Coco Gauff effect.
Many were stunned by the level she was able to produce at the US Open, confidently cruising to a maiden Grand Slam trophy . It was the crowning moment that fans were waiting for because it was always going to happen.
A new superstar is born , but former player Greg Rusedski wants to see somebody challenge her. Speaking on the Inside-In podcast , Rusedski noted the need for a proper rivalry on the Wta Tour, which would benefit women's tennis as much as men's tennis benefitted from the Big Three rivalries.

According to former Atp player Greg Rusedski, Carlos Alcaraz took a minor break after the US Open, and it was much needed.
Carlos Alcaraz had an interesting North American stretch as he didn't quite amaze with his tennis. There were moments when he looked impressive, but overall, it wasn't really that amazing. He struggled in Canada but was better in Cincinnati.
The US Open was somewhat in the middle as he had really good showings at the event, but was completely disappointed against Daniil Medvedev , leaving himself very upset after the match . He returned to Spain and took some days away from tennis to recharge ahead of what might be a huge stretch for him in the Far East.
Rusedski talked about Alcaraz in a recent appearance on the Inside-In Podcast , explaining why the Spaniard needed to step away from the sport. According to Rusedski, the Spaniard was very frustrated...

Former Atp player Greg Rusedski doesn't just believe that Novak Djokovic is the best tennis player but actually the best athlete in the world.
Making such comparisons is very hard because it's not an exact science. While all sports are respectable, they're not created equal, and individual ones like tennis carry more weight because players are all alone on the battlefield.
Not all can handle that, and there is some safety in playing team sports. Novak Djokovic doesn't mind as much as he proved it this year for the 'nth' time by winning three of the four Grand Slams. His last one came in New York, a sensational performance against Daniil Medvedev in the US Open final to win his 24th Grand Slam .
That was just amazing to Rusedski, who proclaimed him the best athlete on the planet right now during a recent appearance on the Inside-In podcast .

Carlos Alcaraz spent much of this year as the number one on the Atp Tour, but according to Greg Rusedski, the real number one was Novak Djokovic .
Carlos Alcaraz secured the number one ranking for the first time in his career by winning last year's US Open . This year's US Open was special because it marked the first time he was a defending champion at a major. The effort was decent but not the desired one, as Daniil Medvedev beat him in the semi-final .
Many wondered how he would deal with the added pressure, and according to Rusedski, he did fine by going to the semi-finals. He didn't play well in that match and lamented it afterwards, but it was still a decent result for the Spaniard.
It was the first time in his career that he [Carlos Alcaraz] had to defend a Major. It’s not a bad effort making the semis.

Former Atp player Greg Rusedski is glad to see Novak Djokovic getting recognition following his most recent achievement.
The list of achievements by Djokovic is a very long one because he's been great for such a long time. Even so, the Serbian spent many of those years in the shadow of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer but is finally being recognized for what he is - one of the greatest .
It has to feel good for Djokovic, who will likely never eclipse them in popularity, but he's racking up achievements and trophies, firmly building a case to be considered the best. As he explained in the Inside-In Podcast, former player Greg Rusedski is glad about it.
I think he's the most professional. Even we heard Rafa talking about it, he was saying 'look I had so many injuries throughout, Novak's always been healthy, he's the guy who has always...

'His Best Chance To Win It': Alcaraz Backed For Roland Garros Success Amid Nadal & Djokovic Injuries
Prime tennis analyst Greg Rusedski considers Carlos Alcaraz the biggest favourite for the upcoming Roland Garros.
It's nothing new nor is it a shocking opinion as his co-analyst on the same network Daniela Hantuchova thinks the same. Alcaraz has been playing spectacular tennis whenever he touched the court this year having already won two big trophies on clay.
The reason why Rusedski thinks Alcaraz is the favourite besides his absurd play is just the landscape right now. Novak Djokovic is seemingly hurt and hasn't played that well regardless. Nadal has not played in months, Medvedev is not that good on clay and Zverev is miles away from his top form shown at the event last year.
Going in to this year's Roland Garros, Nadal hasn't played anything whatsoever leading up, who's always the favorite to win the title. Djokovic is hurt. This has got to be his best chance to...

Emma Raducanu's success at the 2021 US Open came too early and left her unprepared for the following demands in the limelight, according to former British number one Greg Rusedski.
Raducanu's profile on and off the court sky-rocketed after her shock final victory over Leylah Fernandez at the 2021 US Open. But the early success has impacted her subsequent form, which continued this week after she withdrew from the 2023 Madrid Open and fell out of the Wta top 100.
In addition, Raducanu appears to be feeling the tension following increased media interest as she gave a guarded 58-word press conference before eventually withdrawing from the Madrid Open. Former player Rusedski took to his Twitter account to suggest that Grand Slam success came too early in Raducanu's career, which has had an ongoing impact.

Amazon is scrambling to improve its coverage of the U.S. Open in the U.K. after being deluged with complaints.
The online giant bought U.K. rights to the tournament in April as part of its new gambit of offering live sports to Amazon Prime Video customers. It already streamed the Queen’s Club tournament, a Wimbledon warm-up event, in June, but its coverage of the far larger and more prestigious U.S. Open, which began Monday, quickly spawned numerous complaints over picture and sound quality, the inability to watch replays of completed matches, and “bizarre” camera angles.
More than 80% of customer reviews posted to Amazon in the opening days of the tournament gave the coverage just one star, calling it “woeful” and “very disappointing.” One customer wrote: “If I could rate this zero stars then I would!”

We've always known that Kate Middleton is one of the sportiest royals, and it looks like she's passed that onto Prince George! While chatting with former British tennis pro Greg Rusedski, she revealed that Prince George is a little player himself. "She talked about George, her little boy, playing tennis," Rusedski said, according to the Daily Mail. "He's got a racket and he enjoys playing tennis, and obviously she plays with William...So they obviously enjoy...

In the 10 years that have passed since the romantic comedy Wimbledon was released, Great Britain has finally crowned a British champion in Andy Murray.
At the time of its release, Tim Henman was the UK's biggest hope, but it had got to the point where we were so desperate to see a British champion, we had to make a movie about it just so we can pretend what it's actually like.
I say 'we', but the film was actually written by two Americans and a Canadian, and that does explain a lot when it comes to classic British stereotypes and fantastical depictions of London. However, it was directed by a Brit, Richard Loncraine.
The movie shows just how highly regarded and romanticised the Wimbledon Tennis Championships are around the world. It's hard to imagine a similar film titled French Open.

Dancing On Ice rehearsals have been disrupted this week, after many of the contestants and crew fell foul of a 24 hour tummy bug.
Former Hollyoaks actor Gary Lucy and his partner Maria Filippov were the first stars to be struck down with the virus. The illness has also struck down many of the show’s crew.
A source told The Sun: “Just skipping one day of practising their new routine could really damage Gary and Maria’s chances on Sunday.
“The competition is hotting up and everything is at stake.
“Gary said he felt like he was in quarantine from the rest of the gang when the illness was in full force.
“Producers have tried to keep him and Maria away from the others.”
The bug first struck the crew last week. The insider explained:
“Practically all the crew picked it up and now it has spread to the contestants.

Dancing on Ice judge Jason Gardiner has lashed out at audience members for booing him on last week’s live show.
Although Jason tried to be less critical of the skaters last week, fans had not forgiven him for comparing Sharron Davies to ‘faecal matter’ the week before.

“Normally it doesn’t bother me but the idiots in the audience made it impossible for me to critique.
“Booing after I’ve commented is fine but before I’ve said anything is just ignorant and boring.”

She's Back. Natalie Imbruglia. After a slow couple of weeks on the social front (yeah, yeah, we know there was plenty of partying to be had in Paris the last few days, where those who had set up shop for the fashion shows included Oscar and Annette de la Renta, Coco Brandolini, Claire Danes, Bianca Brandolini d'Adda, Lauren Santo Domingo, Tatiana Santo Domingo, Dasha Zhukova, and Fabiola Beracasa), things finally picked up last night. The big Serpentine Gallery summer party, in London, stole the global party stage, but who could have forecasted that Natalie Imbruglia would steal the spotlight at the soirée? The 34-year-old singer (whom we had mostly forgotten about since her 1997 "Torn" single) has been making headlines this week because of a rumored romance with 24-year-old Prince Harry. Naturally this was the week's big topic of discussion in the U.K., as everyone loves a good cougar story.
