Good news for fight fans emerged from the world premiere of Isaac Florentine's Ninja: Shadow Of A Tear at Fantastic Fest last night. In the midst of the Q&A session a fan asked a question on the mind of many fans: What will come first for Adkins? Ninja 3 or Undisputed 4? Adkins, clearly unsure how much he was allowed to say in public, simply paused and smiled at the crowd until producer Frank De Martini picked up the mike and delivered this little nugget: "The Undisputed 4 script is being written right now by David White and it should shoot in the spring. Unless Scott wants too much money."So there you have it, straight from the horse's mouth. Undisputed 4 is happening and -...

An ancient hero returns with a vengeance! Looks like Ninja is more than ready to fight again, and we’re happy that we finally have something new about Isaac Florentine‘s upcoming Ninja 2! As you probably know, we’re talking about Florentine’s follow-up to 2009′s Ninja movie which starred Scott Adkins as an American martial artist named Casey Bowman who travels to New York City in order to protect an armored chest that contains the weapons of the last Kōga ninja.
So, the most important thing at this moment is that Isaac Florentine will direct Ninja 2 from David N. White‘s script, and that British action actor Scott Adkins is back in the business as well as Mika Hijii who starred as Namiko Takeda.
Another great news is that Kane Kosugi aka the son of the legendary 80′s Ninja actor Sho Kosugi is officialy on board to play the movie villain,...

Director: Malcolm Venville
Cast: Keanu Reeves, Vera Farmiga, Judy Greer, James Caan, Peter Stormare
By night, he’s a toll collector. By day, he expends just as much energy fending off his wife’s overtures to make some babies. That is all to say – Henry (Keanu Reeves) is expending very little energy, very little motivation, and very little ambition in his life. Henry’s life philosophy seems to be best described as “well, anything is better than this,” which explains (sort of) how he ends up in jail for a crime he (honestly) didn’t commit. An old pal knocks on Henry’s door, after one of those nights in the toll booth and mornings with Debbie (Judy Greer) begging for babies, and his vague request for Henry to join in on an intramural game is met with blank acceptance.

News broke yesterday that there's another short-list for a female role in Superman: Man of Steel that includes Alice Eve, Diane Kruger, and Rosamund Pike. The role is not for Lois Lane. In fact, there may be no Lois Lane at all in Man of Steel. As The Playlist wrote, "In fact, most of the names bandied about early on--Rachel McAdams, Jessica Biel, Olivia Wilde, Mila Kunis--don't seem likely at this point." Slashfilm also added that this new cast lists makes all the previous shortlist stories "moot."

Writer/director Malcolm Venville is making a career for himself – in the slightest way possible. His first feature, 44 Inch Chest, featured most of the great working Bristish thespians (Ray Winstone, Ian McShane, Tom Wilkinson, Stephen Dillane, John Hurt) and gave them little more to do than counsel a besmirched friend (Winstone) on how to properly take vengeance on his wife’s lover. The group runs with the minimalism, and the end result is something close to enjoyable, but more curious than anything else. Why did Venville do so little with so much?
The same can be said of his second feature, Henry’s Crime, which features Keanu Reeves, Vera Farmiga, James Caan, Judy Greer and Peter Stormare. These are A-list players in a romantic comedy-heist caper hybrid that adheres to the cliches of all of its components, courtesy of screenwriters Sacha Gervasi (director of the crowd-pleaser Anvil!: The Story...

I may be new to the Undisputed series, but I ain't new to fight films - particulary those that go straight-to-video. Hell, I grew up in the era of straight-to-video. I remember a time where there wasn't any predjudice against them at all and any flick with badass cover art had the same chance of getting played as a blockbuster. Sure a lot of them were sequels to minor hits like Bloodsport or what-have-you, but as the years rolled on and more money got thrown into the Stv market, some of these titles got even better than the originals.
Which brings us to Undisputed III, a film that gives Stv tites a good name as is probably the best of the entire Undisputed series. Why is that? Two reasons: Scott Adkins is...

According to Pajiba, Megan Fox is rumoured to be replacing Rose McGowan in the title role of the severely delayed remake of Red Sonja. With the further news that director Douglas Aarniokoski has left the film, and that the producers are searching for a new writer to rework David N. White's first draft of the script, it appears that the entire project may be in some trouble.
Producer Robert Rodriguez has tried to play down any strife, blaming the delay on the wait for financial backers: "They had to wait until they made a couple of other movies first," he explained. "They're actually waiting until they make the Conan movie before they do that - to see how that works for them."

Robert Rodriguez's Red Sonja has been delayed for some time now, but Millennium Films has been touting Planet Terror star Rose McGowan as the warrior with a wicked sword since 2008's ComicCon. The actress was decked out in a skimpy chainmail bikini and licking a bloody blade in two posters that were unveiled during a panel discussion with the star and Rodriguez. But according to recent rumors surrounding the project, Transformers' Megan Fox may be taking McGowan's place.
Our Elisabeth Rappe first reported rumors that McGowan was off the project earlier this month, and a report from Pajiba drives that point home even more. Plagued with financial difficulties, a change of directors (Douglas Aarniokoski is now off the project) and an empty writer's chair (David N. White's script needs a second pass), Millennium now wants to look for a "younger, hotter" star to take on the lead role of the redheaded badass.

During their relationship, Rose McGowan and Robert Rodriguez were planning to remake a couple films, notably Barbarella and Red Sonja. The latter is one that is still on the boards, to come after the new version of Conan, albeit with all new talent. Now, in addition to some recent interviews that shed light on what's been holding the movie up, there is a report that Megan Fox could be the lead for the film. Is it likely to happen? Not really, but it will get some Robert E. Howard fans in a lather regardless. Pajiba is hearing that all previous versions of Red Sonja are scrapped and that McGowan is gone. All of which had been more or less evident. Milennium Films is looking for another writer to rewrite the last draft by David N. White, and further talent to follow. This all follows on a Robert Rodriguez interview from SXSW,...

Pajiba reports that Nu Image/Millennium Films is changing directions on its "Red Sonja" update. The company announced in June of 2008 that Rose McGowan would star in the title role and that the film would be directed by Douglas Aarniokoski and produced by Robert Rodriguez. Then last month, McGowan landed a role in "Conan", also from Nu Image/Millennium Films, but not as "Red Sonja" leading to speculation that she was no longer on board. McGowan instead will play "an evil half-human/half-witch." In addition to McGowan, Aarniokoski is apparently off the project as well and they are looking for another writer to take a pass at David N. White's script. Pajiba says that an offer has now been made to "Transformers" star Megan Fox to play the mythical flame-haired comic-book vixen...

A couple weeks ago [1] we reported that Rose McGowan had signed on to play a half-human/half-witch in the new Conan movie, which seemed to prove once and for all that the remake of the '80s Conan spin-off Red Sonja starring McGowan was no longer happening. Just a few days after that, however, producer Robert Rodriguez responded with a slightly cryptic update [2] on the project, stating that it was still happening, but that the studio wanted to wait and see how Conan fared first. Now this week we have a few additional tidbits about Red Sonja, including a possible tip on who might replace McGowan as the "She-Devil with a Sword". According to Pajiba [3], director Douglas Aarniokoski (Highlander: Endgame) was once attached to helm the movie but has since left the project, and they are currently in search of someone to rewrite the script by David N. White (Undisputed II and III). What's more,...

When Rose McGowan was cast in the upcoming Conan remake as a "half-human, half-witch" character, everyone was left wondering what was happening to her much-delayed, long-gestating Red Sonja movie.
Some fans were hoping McGowan was going to appear as Red Sonja in a cameo in the Conan film, in a crossover to set up and create anticipation for her solo adventure.
But apparently that will never happen because different companies own the two characters.
In the latest update, it seems McGowan - first announced as playing Red Sonja back in June 2008 - might have exited the project altogether.
It's being reported that Megan Fox is now in line to play the so-called 'she-devil with a sword.'
Gossip sites are also claiming that 23-year-old Fox turned down the chance to play Lara Croft in the next Tomb Raider because she doesn't want comparisons with Angelina Jolie.

An offer is out to Megan Fox to star as the titular in "Red Sonja" in the upcoming film adaptation of the fantasy property by Millennium Films reports Pajiba.
Previously Rose McGowan had been linked to the role of the young woman who becomes an unbeatable warrior, while Robert Rodriguez would produce. Rodriguez himself last month said financing issues and the success of the upcoming "Conan" movie would determine whether the project would get made.
Now Pajiba's source claims the previous incarnation of the project had been scrapped and Douglas Aarniokoski is out as director with writers being sought to deliver new drafts of David N. White’s script.
Further details as they come.

Millennium Films is still trying to piece together a remake of Red Sonja, as if it’s a brand worth exploiting. Rose McGowan was originally set to star, but when she was cast in Millennium’s Conan red flags went up. How can she be in both? Is this some sort of Red Sonja crossover?
According to Pajiba, McGowan is completely off the Red Sonja project being produced by Robert Rodriguez, her boyfriend at the time this remake talk started. When asked about it at the South by Southwest Film Festival, Rodriguez said, “If I kept the project myself, we could’ve just made it, but it belonged to another company that had financing problems” referring to Millennium.
Along with McGowan, director Douglas Aarniokoski also left and the company is looking to bring in a new writer for another pass at the script by David N. White.

It seems as if Megan Fox is trying every way possible to keep her fanboy roles close to the vest and stay in that realm of acting attaching herself to projects like the Jonah Hex franchise, continuing with Transformers 3 but here is one that we never saw coming, Red Sonja.
Pajiba, who has been having some sketchy reporting as of late, so take this with a grain of salt, is saying that Megan Fox could replace Rose McGowan as Red Sonja in the remake/reimagining of the pulp fantasy heroine.
The director of the project Douglas Aarniokoski has parted ways from as well and they are also looking for another writer to put the finishing touches on David N. White’s script.

Last August, actress Rose McGowan (Grindhouse) told the media that Millennium Films intended to see how its Conan the Barbarian film performed before committing to making a Red Sonja film. "I am still contracted to do Red Sonja," she remarked.
Meawhile, Pajiba is reporting that Millennium have actually decided to abandon all development on the Red Sonja project, at least the current iteration that would have featured McGowan. While the reasons aren't entirely clear, the studio seems to want to take the property in a different direction, and is apparently currently searching for another writer to take another pass at David N. White’s script. Director Douglas Aarniokosky is said to be gone, and McGowan will allegedly not be asked to return, either.
What's perhaps most interesting in this report is that another actress has supposedly been offered the lead role: Megan Fox. Whether Fox has accepted or not remains an entirely separate question.

There's been a lot of intrigue surrounding the Robert Rodriquez produced remake of Red Sonja, especially after its apparent lead, Rose McGowan, was cast in Conan the Barbarian, making the expected Red Sonja cameo in Conan all but impossible. This, of course, coming on the heels of a huge delay of Red Sonja, for reasons not entirely explained by Robert Rodriguez last month at SXSW. He told MTV:
"If I kept the project myself, we could've just made it, but it belonged to another company that had financing problems," said Rodriguez of what's been holding up Red Sonja. "They had to wait until they made a couple of other movies first," he explained. "They're actually waiting until they make the Conan movie before they do that - to see how that works for them."
That is probably all very true, but it's not the entire story, according to our insider source,...

Fox News is reporting that Rose McGowan injured herself working on Red Sonja : "I had wrist and elbow surgery and they took part of my elbow out. "I could no longer use my arm, but now I can hold a fork and drive so we're working our way up. It'll probably be another six months of rehab, but It's the price you pay for being really limber and being able to do back flips!" While it says in the article above that this brought production to a halt, the official start of filming was never announced, so perhaps she was just in training?
