- She claimed she was only paid a flat fee of $1,750 for doing the first batch of "Miss Cleo" commercials, which were filmed over three days. Psychic Readers Network earned millions from the commercials and merchandise using Harris' image. She was later hired as a phone operator by the company and paid 24 cents per minute (or about $15 an hour).
- She is best known for portraying the Jamaican psychic Miss Cleo in a series of popular television commercials from Psychic Readers Network that aired from 1997 to 2002.
- Had two children: a daughter, with her husband, who was born when Harris was 19, and a second daughter born when Harris was in her late twenties.
- Harris was briefly married to a man when she was 19. After this, she had two long-term relationships with women that she referred to as "marriages". - Her employer, Psychic Readers Network, was sued by the FTC in 2002 for deceptive advertising, billing and collection practices. Harris herself was not charged because she had no ownership stake in the company nor a role in its management. It emerged during the lawsuit that she was not actually Jamaican and was born and raised in California, but surprisingly, this was not among the deceptive advertising charges.
- She formerly ran a theatrical production company in Seattle, and wrote and acted in several plays.
