Crystal Kung Minkoff typically screens new episodes of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” with her husband, Hollywood producer Rob Minkoff, but not this week!
Wednesday night’s episode finds the women in Las Vegas celebrating Kung Minkoff’s 40th birthday with drinks and debauchery at the Magic Mike male revue. We won’t spoil it for you, but let’s just say they women put their dollar bills to good use.
“So I saw the episode yesterday,” Kung Minkoff told TheWrap on Wednesday before the episode aired. “Last night I was with Rob and we were chatting. And he goes, ‘Oh, you’ve seen it already?’ I just kind of ignored him. He usually screens it with me, but I don’t really want him to watch it. Eventually he will, but I’m gonna try to avoid as long as I can.” she joked.

During the early nineties in Hong Kong, the prolific screenwriter, producer, director and sometime actor Wong Jing made quite a number of crowd-pleasing action comedies which was a highly popular genre back then. Although wacky and action packed in nature, his films like “Tricky Brains”, “Royal Tramp”, “Legend of the Liquid Sword”, “Flying Dagger”, “Holy Weapon” and so on were commercially successful productions. Fast forward to 2011 and with a bigger Mainland budget, plus the help of two award-winning actors, Wong ws back and doing pretty much the same old thing. Set in White Horse Town, ancient China, “Treasure Inn” revolves around young Master Kung (Nicholas Tse) and Lo Pa (Nick Cheung), two lowly and underappreciated constables who work in the courthouse kitchen and laundry instead of doing proper investigating duties.

The last wuxia film Yen starred in was “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny” (2016), since, although he was in “New Kung Fu Cult Master Part One” (2022) it was only a cameo. Now he is back as the leading man, producer and director in “Sakra”, a wuxia epic which is adapted from Jin Yong's (Louis Cha) novel “Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils” which deals with the Eight Races of Buddhist deities of the Buddhist cosmology. The Chinese title is loosely translated as “The Eight Books of the Heavenly Dragon: Qiao Feng Legacy.”
“Sakra” will debut on Blu-ray and DVD starting June 13 from Well Go USA.
Set during the time in which the Han Chinese dominated and the Song Dynasty is at war with the Liao Empire led by the Khitan race, Jin Yong's complex and long story involves three main protagonists plus a huge collection of flamboyant characters and their explorations...
