- Multi-talented musician Gregg Diamond was a drummer, pianist, producer, songwriter, and arranger who was a key player in the 1970's disco music scene. Diamond was born on May 4, 1949 in New York City. Best known for writing and producing the sensuous and enormously successful disco smash "More, More, More" by the Andrea True Connection in 1976, Gregg also wrote, produced, and/or arranged such songs as "Hot Butterfly," "Cream (Always Rises to the Top)," "Dance Little Dreamer," "Star Cruisin'," "Risky Changes," "Fancy Dancer," and "Tiger, Tiger (Feel Good for a While)." A majority of these tunes were recorded by Diamond's group Bionic Boogie and featured lead vocals by Luther Vandross. "Dance Little Dreamer" peaked at #1 on Billboard's Hot Disco Club Party chart for three weeks in a row in early 1978 while "Cream (Always Rises to the Top)" reached #61 on the UK singles chart in January, 1979 and George McCrae's "Love in Motion" was a substantial disco club hit in the late 1970's. Moreover, "Hot Butterfly" was later covered by both David Lasley and Chaka Khan. Gregg was also a member of the backing band The Creatures. The Canadian alternative rock group Len sampled "More, More, More" in their bouncy late 1990's hit song "Steal My Sunshine." Diamond died at the tragically young age of 49 from upper gastrointestinal bleeding on March 14, 1999.- IMDb Mini Biography By: woodyanders
