Abdou Cissé is a two-time BIFA nominated and LFF award-winning writer-director & creative, from South London. In 2019, his directorial debut Serious Tingz won Best Narrative Short at the Shiny Awards and was nominated for a BIFA, becoming an BAFTA & Academy Award qualifying film. The film went on to be selected by eight film festivals, featuring on ITV news, Tate Modern & Britain; as well as the National Prison Radio, reaching over 90,000 prisoners across the UK. Having built a successful career creating award winning campaigns for brands such as Apple, Nike, and Google, Abdou now aims to widen the spectrum and genre of inner-city stories told in the UK by creating projects that spark dialogue and challenge social and cultural stereotypes.
Off the back of the success of his BIFA nominated & LFF award winning short FESTIVAL OF SLAPS, Abdou is making his directorial TV debut as first block director for BBC series 'Grime Kids' written by Theresa Ikoko, which debuts Nov 2023.
