Exclusive: Brian Volk-Weiss’ Nacelle Company on Wednesday announced Billy Corgan’s Adventures in Carnyland, an eight-episode unscripted series that’s set to premiere on The CW app and cwtv.com on May 14th.
Directed by Volk-Weis and Ian Roumain, the series pulls back the curtain on how the legendary frontman of alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins takes on the world. When he isn’t churning out albums and touring the world with his band, Corgan works as a wrestling promoter through his storied National Wrestling Alliance, which he intends to restore to its former glory. As if being a rock star navigating the demanding politics of running both a band (Pumpkinworld) and a group of eccentric wrestlers (Carnyland) isn’t tricky enough, he’s also a father of two — and he’s planning a wedding to his longtime partner, Chloe Mendel. Can he possibly keep all these balls in the air?...

Leopold Ross is the kind of guy who gets excited to be in the presence of legendary monsters. So you can imagine his joy at being asked to compose the music for the Apple TV+ series “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters,” the highly anticipated show in the MonsterVerse franchise that premieres November 17 on the streamer. Except that the truth is, Ross went all-in on the show before he even knew what it was about. As he told Gold Derby’s Latasha Ford during a jam-packed launch event at the DGA Theater in Hollywood this month, he agreed to be the show’s composer based solely on the fact Chris Black had signed on as its showrunner/executive producer. They had worked together once before, on the 2016-2018 Cinemax horror drama “Outcast.” ‘When I got the call to do the show, I just said yes immediately because I love Chris and I...

Korn and Adidas, together at last! After famously releasing the song “A.D.I.D.A.S.” back in 1996 and wearing Adidas track suits throughout the ’90s, Korn are officially partnering with Adidas on a new line of sneakers and apparel.
Back in June, leaked documents suggested the collaboration was going to happen, with images of the footwear even surfacing at the time. But now, Adidas has issued an official press release detailing the collection, which is set for an October 27th release.
Adidas’ press release reads, in part:
“When pioneering California-based alt metal band, KoRn, emerged onto the scene 30 years ago, they broke away from the genre’s established aesthetic codes, and paved the way for a new generation of fans by sporting classic Three Stripes adidas tracksuits. Never ceasing to challenge normal convention, KoRn and the Trefoil have maintained a long standing relationship over the years through an...

Back in August, the Netflix streaming service announced (via their Tudum site) that they would be releasing the documentary The Devil on Trial, which is based on the same true crime case that inspired the 2021 film The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, the third film in the Conjuring series. The Devil on Trial is set to start streaming on October 17th – and with just a couple weeks to go before we reach that date, a trailer for the documentary has arrived online. You can check it out in the embed above.
According to the Tudum listing, The Devil on Trial explores the first — and only — time “demonic possession” has officially been used as a defense in a US murder trial. Including firsthand accounts of alleged devil possession and a shocking murder, this extraordinary story forces reflection on our fear of the unknown.

Some of music’s most popular and successful acts, including Post Malone, Steve Aoki, and Chris Brown, received millions of dollars from the government grant program designed to help venues and arts programs during Covid-19, Insider reports.
The Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (Svog) was a massive, $14.5 billion aid program operated through the Small Business Administration, meant to provide relief to shuttered venues — from music clubs to local theaters — and other businesses tied to the live entertainment industry (like booking agencies). It’s 3.44 a.m. in the Strait of Dover and I’m lying awake on the top bunk of a tour bus parked on a ferry headed from France to the U.K. It’s been a day my 16-year-old Backstreet Boys-loving self could only have dreamed of — lunching with Howie Dorough, watching Nick Carter perform 20-year-old solo throwbacks, enjoying manicures with Aj McLean, and witnessing the group’s DNA world tour spectacle front row in Germany, before heading to London to do it all over again. And while the larger-than-life adventures,...

Rina Sawayama publicly rebuked Matty Healy during her set at Glastonbury on Saturday.
Though she never identified Healy by name, the singer reference The 1975 singer’s recent controversies while introducing her performance of “Stfu”.
“I wrote this next song because I was sick and tired of these microaggressions,” Sawayama explained “So tonight, this goes out to a white man that watches ‘Ghetto Gaggers’ and mocks Asian people on a podcast.
He also owns my masters,” Sawayama continued. “I’ve had enough!”
To underscore her point, Sawayama’s performance of “Stfu” incorporated elements of Korn’s “Blind” and Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff.” Watch footage of her remarks and performance below.
In February, Healy appeared on an episode of The Adam Friedland Show podcast, during which he, host Friedland, and producer Nick Mullen debated Ice Spice’s ethnicity, took racist jabs at the rapper’s appearance, and mocked Chinese and Hawaiian accents.

Korn provided Adidas with all sorts of free advertising decades ago. Now, the nu-metal pioneers are officially partnering with the sneaker brand with a collaboration set to drop this October.
News of the partnership was actually first tweeted out by KicksFinder back in February, but now Complex has obtained an internal Adidas document that includes images of two Korn-branded sneakers — the Campus 00s and the Supermodified — along with seven pieces of apparel.
Korn famously wore Adidas tracksuits in their early days, and even released a song called “A.D.I.D.A.S.” (in this case an acronym for “All Day I Dream About Sex”), yet they never officially collaborated with the sneaker company. In fact, they actually ended up inking a deal with Puma, with singer Jonathan Davis once telling Kerrang!, “We switched to Puma because they told us they’d put us in a commercial and give us...

Industrial techno auteurs Health have returned with the one-off single “Hateful,” which is dropping alongside the latest software update for the first-person shooter game Ultrakill.
Co-written with Sierra, the track is an immediate head-nodder with pulsing electronic percussion and swathes of noise and shoegazing textures. Overall, Health take a more dance-pop approach as opposed to their harsher industrial tendencies, with Street Sects’ Leo Ashlin providing the appropriate melodic backing vocals.
“Back to the cyber grind,” the band said of the song, which is getting the spotlight in the latest Ultrakill update. Health themselves have even been rendered in the game’s old-school graphic style (as seen above), and more collaborations between Health and Ultrakill “will be announced soon.”
The game is described as a “ultra-violent” old-school Fps and has received widespread praise for evoking classic shooters such as Doom, Quake, and Unreal Tournament.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen joined the cast of Full House when they were less than a year old, but the twins’ behaviour led to star John Stamos demanding they be fired. That’s a little harsh there, Stamos.

It’s a bad day to be a sports comedy series on Disney+. It’s been announced that the streaming service has cancelled The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers and Big Shot after just two seasons.
The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers wrapped up its second season last November, with Big Shot concluding in October. With no news about the possible renewal of either series since they aired their second and now final seasons, I suppose this news isn’t entirely unexpected.

Intended to capture the idyllic spirit in which the original Woodstock festival, which happened in 1969, lives in memory, the 1999 edition was instead marred by violent riots. It was a crystal-clear announcement that whatever hippie spirit still existed in mainstream American life had been choked off at the source.
That’s an interesting story worth telling — indeed, HBO’s “Music Box” series of documentaries, produced by Bill Simmons, did an excellent job last year of placing the story within the cultural context of a dead-end nihilistic youth culture and a late-‘90s rock scene dominated by male rage. Netflix’s new documentary series “Trainwreck: Woodstock ‘99” expends plenty of energy on depicting what happened; indeed, its three installments track the festival’s three nights.

Though it never charted above No. 72, Korn’s self-titled 1994 debut has had unparalleled influence over the last two decades of American heavy music: the rise of nu-metal’s whomping pain-stomp, the road to platinum genre-smashers like Linkin Park and Slipknot, the popularity of the 7-string guitar, the emergence of superstar producer Ross Robinson and his method-acting-style techniques and even the mosh-centric rhythms of stadium dubstep artists like avowed Korn fan Skrillex.

Although he's most famously known as the drummer for iconic masked metallers Slipknot, Joey Jordison has also been a regular FEARnet favorite thanks to his many macabre side projects – including a stretch on the road with Rob Zombie and the reunion of legendary shock-rock unit Murderdolls, which he reanimated a few years ago with co-founder Wednesday 13. Jordison is still active with Slipknot, of course, but during a lengthy offline period (partly due to the death of bassist Paul Gray in 2010), he turned his creative energies from that band and focused instead on forming the industrial-metal supergroup Scar The Martyr – who have just unleashed their mammoth self-titled debut album. “I was working on new Slipknot material but I had to shelve it and wait until we all know we’re getting back together,” says Jordison. “But I couldn’t stop writing! I stayed in the studio because I had so many...

'Harry's Law' sounded like a great idea in theory: Take the proven success of a quirky David E. Kelley legal drama (who didn't love 'Boston Legal' and 'Ally McBeal'?), add Kathy Bates in her first series regular TV role ever and voila, right? Wrong.
While I admittedly didn't watch the entire first season of the show last year (it was that bad), I saw enough to know that the show was very proud of going over the top in a way that men dressed as flamingos and women hallucinating dancing babies would shake their heads at.
Harriet Korn's legal office-slash-shoe shop, her ragtag team and her insatiable need to disrupt courtrooms with nonsense asides and clever comebacks were truly cringe-worthy at times.
But somehow, the show is back for a second season, with some castmembers leaving,...

David Fincher’s The Social Network has been gradually building positive buzz over the past few weeks and on the 1st of October the film reaches Us theaters (UK residents will unfortunately have to wait until October 16th). Ahead of the film’s release the score will be available to buy from the 28th of September.
Available to download right now though is a five track sampler from the score. Head over here and sign up to download the tracks. You can also pre-order the score there on CD, Vinyl and Blu-ray.
The score is the result of a collaboration between Trent Reznor and programmer/producer Atticus Ross. Ross has worked with Reznor before on a variety of Nine Inch Nails albums and has also worked with groups such as Bomb the Bass, Jane’s Addiction, Korn and Bad Religion.
The complete tracklist for the score is as follows (tracks...

Despite their very nature as shape-shifters, actors are constantly typecast. They spend their careers convincing an unimaginative industry that they can play the kinds of roles they've never attempted before. As Fred Durst discovered, it's no different for rock stars who decide to become serious filmmakers. "I get judged all the time [being] Fred from Limp Bizkit. My biggest obstacle in life is that I'm me," admits the frontman for the controversial nu metal band that has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, boasting songs like "Break Stuff," "Get Naked," and "Nookie."He continues, "I've always wanted to make a film since I was very young. And I never had a dream of being a rock star, so to have that come along the way and that lead me into being able to make a film was great. I don't want to waste anyone's time. I don't want to do it...
