Matt Sutton(XII)
- Producer
- Director
- Writer
Sutton graduated from Temple University's BFA directing program in May 2021. Throughout his college career, Sutton became obsessed with crafting psychological narratives and developing complex worlds with period piece aesthetics. Over the course of four years, Sutton successfully raised tens of thousands of dollars through crowdfunding campaigns and managed to write, direct, and produce a total of ten independent films.
His most recent project, "Daylong", wrapped principal photography in Summer 2021. "Daylong" is a short psychological drama set in 1981 which follows an ambitious astronomy student named David Kim.
"Tired of being the outsider in 1980s society, David pledges to an elite, yet unorthodox fraternity in attempts to finally belong somewhere...but the events of one night threaten to destroy the dreams he has carefully crafted for himself."
"Daylong" is in the process of pickups/re-shoots and is looking for a post-production/VFX house to take on the project by the end of June 2022.
Outside of his directorial studies, Sutton has been mentored by acclaimed feature film producer Doug Claybourne ("The Fast and The Furious", "The Mask of Zorro") for over three years. In that time, Sutton quickly proved his passion for all things production, rising from the position of intern to Executive Producer of Claybourne's latest short film, "The Rainbow Prince".
