Beloved game creator Hideo Kojima has been an influential figure in the gaming industry, as the brain behind the celebrated Metal Gear franchise. In addition to games, he is an ardent fan of other art forms and has been highly popular in recent times for his reviews of films and shows that he gets to watch.

Kojima has a particular formula he follows to convey his feelings about a project he watches. A lengthy post would mean that he extremely loved the film or show and a one-word review meant that he was not impressed by what he saw. It seems an acclaimed Korean show called Moving has caught his eye and he can’t stop raving about it as he praised several elements in it on X.

Hideo Kojima is the legendary Japanese video game developer known for creating several brilliant video games like Death Stranding, Metal Gear, and many more. Yet the video game developer has a great affinity to movies and is often seen praising one or the other. Famous for his one-word remarks about movies that he abhorred, Kojima recently wrote a long paragraph on George Miller’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.

Hideo Kojima is considered one of those video game creators who have made a permanent mark on the industry. Gamers all around the world know of his achievements, and they can agree with the fact that he might have made some unusual games, but he never made a bad game. Metal Gear Solid can be considered his most iconic franchise. One series that put his name on the map.
He left Konami back in 2015 after he completed Metal Gear Solid 5. Just a few months after the release of this title, he moved out and started figuring out what he wanted to do next. Kojima took to social media to share a photograph that references a curse in the film, which is loosely based on a real incident. However, given the curse’s nature, Kojima might have lightened its effect by sharing it with everyone who follows him. The video game autuer Hideo Kojima has never failed to surprise fans with his work. Too bad several of his ideas didn’t come to fruition. The Metal Gear Solid creator once desired to develop a zombie game, unlike the typical games in the genre we see today. Players would have had to play it with great care, as they wouldn’t have gotten another chance to.
Hideo Kojima is known for his unique approach to cinematic storytelling in his video games, which is a result of his strong passion for literature and film. And he’s also a fortune-teller; he just doesn’t know it.

As one of the most legendary video game developers, Hideo Kojima has made a reputation for himself in the industry. From the likes of Metal Gear Solid to Death Stranding, Kojima has a knack for creating amazing stories and engaging gameplay for the player.
Through his nearly four-decade-long career, he’s also had many ideas and projects that have not met the light of day. Remember Silent Hills?
One project that Kojima talked about in the early 2000s was his idea of a “raw game.” The player would be able to play this “raw game” for years if they wanted to. But if they die, the game will end forever.
A very ambitious idea from Hideo Kojima that has not seen the light of day yet. If this project did take off, how would the gaming industry be today?
Hideo Kojima’s Idea for a ‘Raw Game’ No lives. No retries.

‘$la$her$’ Blu-ray Review: Terror Vision Unearths an Obscure 2001 Horror Movie With a Killer Premise
By late 2000, reality television was considered must-see entertainment by millions. Whether it was the drama and backstabbing tribal exploits of Survivor or Regis Philbin asking for the “final answer” on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, this boob tube subgenre was all the rage worldwide. Meanwhile, Japan has always been known for their off the wall, physically demanding gameshows like Takeshi’s Castle and Kunoichi.
Writer-director Maurice Devereaux (End of the Line) rode the wave of reality TV in an ocean of Japanese game show craziness on a surfboard crafted from The Running Man to bring the world $la$hers in 2001. And thanks to Terror Vision, who have been on a roll with their releases lately, we have a chance to revisit this Canadian direct-to-video flick. Despite how the title sounds, it is not supposed to be a straight-on horror film, but a satire in a horror film’s clothing, so to speak.

Hideo Kojima has directed masterpieces across the years and certainly is an authority when it comes to quality story-telling, and occasionally sharing his two cents when it comes to movies, his recent one-sentence review with Madame Web speaks volumes about how he feels about the movie despite having a strong relationship with Sony. The quality of superhero movies has taken quite a tumble, and Kojima, an advocate of cinema, didn’t have anything to say at all about the latest entry of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe.

Sony was the first to provide support to Hideo Kojima after he parted ways with Konami, allowing him to establish himself as an independent game developer. This freedom has granted Kojima to create games without budget limitations and operate with unrestricted creative control.
At the time when Kojima initially pitched a brand new IP to publishers and waited to see which one would gamble on their brand. Sony did not hesitate and jumped at the opportunity to work with the legendary director and the project turned out to be Death Stranding, Kojima’s latest attempt to redefine the stealth action genre.

The creator of the popular Metal Gear series and director of Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima, takes a shot at former publisher Konami for their lack of trust and restrictive terms. The early segment of the Connecting Worlds documentary that is exclusively streaming on Disney+ talks about his experiences with his former company which was Konami and how he was constricted on fully realizing his vision.
Developing video games is not a cheap hobby, there are multitudes of layers to understand and people to go through that will occasionally challenge the feasibility of the project and may not see the light of day. Kojima made the brave decision to part ways with Konami and be an independent studio moving forward, fortunately, his credibility served him well which opened countless doors for his company. Sony filled in the void and backed Kojima’s first new and original IP while respecting his independence.

The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus has no idea what he was stepping into the moment he agreed to star in Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding. Meeting through writer and director Guillermo del Toro who was a mutual friend of Reedus and Kojima, the director phoned Reedus and informed him that he would receive a call about a project and all he had to say was say yes.
The project was meant to be Silent Hills, unfortunately, it was canceled. Norman was still committed and the project shifted as he jumped from one post-apocalyptic world torn apart by the undead to another where tar-like creatures roam rampant. During his work on a motion capture stage, the seasoned actor encountered unexpected challenges when acting around an empty room with markers on his body. In the documentary, “Connecting Worlds,” which is available on Disney+, he recounts the story of how he initially secured the role.

Yoji Shinkawa has been collaborating with the famous video game director Hideo Kojima for most of his career. The Metal Gear franchise was lucky enough to benefit from his artistic talent, and the entertainment industry has recognized his work for its unique style.
During the Connecting Worlds documentary, Yoji talked about his experiences working with Hideo and how his game Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty somehow predicted the future, like the tragic terrorist attack in New York City on September 11, 2001.
Although it was purely coincidental, it is remarkable how Hideo managed to do it again during the Covid-19 pandemic a few short months after the release of Death Stranding.
Sarcastically stating how the legendary director may be a prophet, Shinkawa remained true to his craft and helped make the best game possible. Oftentimes, especially around that period when violence and terrorism were at an all-time high with conflicts,...

Renowned visionary Hideo Kojima gets the praise he deserves through the Connecting Worlds documentary, which is exclusively streaming on Disney+. Spending the majority of his life exploring his passion for films and making video games, Kojima has been a staple in the entertainment industry, redefining the stealth genre with his Metal Gear series that was published by Konami and doing so again with Death Stranding.
His life’s work has touched those of others in many ways, and his dream has allowed others to dream bigger and never stop.
In 2015, Hideo Kojima left Konami after a series of behind-the-scenes issues with his own independent studio, called Kojima Productions, and announced a new IP called Death Stranding. Sony and PlayStation supported the development of the game and made it a PlayStation 4 exclusive for a limited time, later finding its way on other platforms.
Despite working in a different medium, Kojima’s reach and respect are unparalleled.

It was about a year ago that we learned that Hideo Kojima would be bringing his acclaimed game Death Stranding to the big screen, thanks to a partnership with Barbarian executive producer Alex Lebovici’s Hammerstone Studios. A24 made the announcement themselves via a post on X. They’ve even marked the occasion by unveiling a set of new shirts featuring the A24 logo done in a Death Stranding style.
Kojima responded to the announcement in a press release, saying: “A24 was born into this world about 10 years ago, their presence is singular within the industry, they are like no other. The films they are delivering to the world are high in quality and very innovative. I have been attracted...

Hideo Kojima has revealed that his next game will involve Maleficent actor Elle Fanning. Hideo’s studio, Kojima Productions, made the reveal at Pax Australia, which attendee (and From Software enthusiast) Lance McDonald reported during the event.
Kojima had been teasing a new project back at Tokyo Games Show, where the developer’s booth at the show featured a backlit portrait of a woman, with the phrase “Who am I?” over her face. That was further teased earlier last week on Twitter, where Kojima said that the answer to “Who” at Tgs would be at the next “Where”. Obviously, the “Where” turned out to be Pax Australia.
Attendees at Pax Australia could scan a Qr code at the Kojima Productions’ booth, which lead to the reveal poster featuring Elle Fanning.

One of the biggest surprises of the Xbox and Bethesda 2022 showcase happened when Hideo Kojima popped up to confirm he’s working on a new title in conjunction with Xbox Game Studios. While we still don’t know a lot about the Metal Gear creator’s new game, a few hints that Kojima dropped may have revealed a little more about the project than he meant to share.
For reference, here’s a transcript of exactly what Kojima said during his pre-recorded appearance during the Xbox/Bethesda Showcase:
