The episode of The Best of the Worst focusing on Freddy Krueger was written, narrated, and edited by Mike Holtz.
You wanna know what makes Freddy Krueger so scary? I mean, other than his obvious need to moisturize? He’s unavoidable. As unavoidable as death, taxes and Taylor Swift/Travis Kelce news stories. All he needs to be able to heinously take you out is for you to eventually sleep… and everyone sleeps. Everyone also poops but they haven’t made that movie yet. Just a really well marketed children’s book. See, you can physically escape Michael Myers. Hell, the guy can’t even run! He power walks. Like your grandparents in the mall before the shops open in the morning. You can escape Jason Voorhees by simply wearing his dead mom’s clothing and bossing him around. Some people would just call that a nice Friday night in.

Superhero movies have some of the most iconic scores -- from Superman to The Dark Knight -- but they're also no strangers to pop music. Just look back to Prince's contributions to Tim Burton's Batman and Seal's hit "Kiss from a Rose" from Batman Forever, to Chad Kroeger and Josey Scott's "Hero" from Spider-Man. Just look back to Prince's contributions to Tim Burton's Batman and Seal's hit "Kiss From a Rose" from Batman Forever, not to mention Chad Kroeger and Josey Scott's "Hero" from Spider-Man. But the soundtrack for Guardians of the Galaxy was a whole new animal in terms of giving moviegoers and fans an enjoyable collection of classic tunes supplementary to a great movie. Of course, the Guardians music is significant to the plot of that Marvel Comics adaptation. The same is true of at least a couple of the pop music tracks in Deadpool...

There have been bands who, over the years, changed their sound to either better improve on their lyrical style or just to try out something different. Changing labels or applying a new instrument also encourages bands to mix it up. But there are bands that put their skills to the test and change after every record release, making for a mix blend of lyrical experimentation and riff-swinging madness. Saliva, first situated in 1996 and still up and running in 2013, happens to be one of those bands that consistently and ideally change their sound to aim for higher levels of ingenuity.
The band’s current line-up consists of: Bobby Amaru (vocals and rhythm guitar), Wayne Swinny (lead guitarist), Dave Novotny (bass), and Paul Crosby (drums and percussion). Former lead vocalist Josey Scott, who stuck from the beginning, and who dropped out in 2011 to pursue a solo career, inherited his position to Amaru...

Tuesday night's (April 20) "American Idol" featured the Top Seven tackling "inspirational" songs in honor of "Idol Gives Back," that time of the season when Ryan Seacrest gets to say things like, "When you cast a vote you save lives!" and pat the "Idol" corporate sponsors on the back for donating money to charity.
Alicia "The Princess of Soul" Keys was on hand to mentor the contestants. "I want to teach them how to be part of something that's even bigger than them," she said. Um, the only thing bigger than Michael Lynche is the continent of Asia, so that might be a little tough, Alicia. But I applaud the effort.
Before I go on a rant about Kara's hair, let's get to the performances!
Casey James
Song: "Don't Stop" by Fleetwood Mac
Verdict: Please Stop (Too easy, right?)
Alicia Keys urged Casey to connect with "one of the biggest songs in the whole universe,...

Fox Alicia Keys with the remaining contestants
Just seven contestants remain as Idol headed into its over-the-top (but extremely worthy) Idol Gives Back extravaganza.
With the way this season is going, the Idols aren’t just competing against each other, but Ryan Seacrest, whose attention-grabbing antics are becoming part of the story. (My colleague Tracy Watson compiled a list for me today of Ryan moments, from tweeting results before the West Coast show to suggesting Brian Dunkleman was hosting part of Idol Gives Back.)
Still, no one will outshine this week’s guest mentor, the incomparable Alicia Keys. Good to know she will be back for Idol Gives Back on Wednesday night.
Casey James opened with an oldie: “Don’t Stop” by Fleetwood Mac. Ensemble songs are tough to sing, but Casey pulled it off. It sounded okay, a little like Lynyrd Skynyrd covering Fleetwood. Randy Jackson said it: It was good,...

The Inspirational Song choices are available on iTunes, so we thought we'd offer some suggestions for the "American Idol" Top 7.
We will admit that the song list is rather weird -- some of the songs don't exactly strike us as "inspirational," plus you have to automatically discount certain songs. For example...
The Idols should probably steer clear of the other Idol songs. Like "A Moment Like This" is the No. 1 Kelly Clarkson "Idol" moment, so we're not sure they should try that one. Doing other Idol hits is just a little too meta. We'd call that a big no-no.
Then there are the over-played barf-worthy songs like "Greatest Love of All" and "That's What Friends Are For." We'd advise steering clear of those too, especially since "Greatest Love" should just be retired after Cordelia Chase did it for the "Buffy" talent show. Then there are a few duets on the list,...
