[This story contains spoilers for Shazam! Fury of the Gods and Fall.]
Shazam! Fury of the Gods star Grace Caroline Currey quite literally put her blood, sweat and tears into Mary Bromfield and her superpowered counterpart.
Currey originally played young Mary in David F. Sandberg’s 2019 film, Shazam!, but ceded Super Hero Mary duties to Michelle Borth. However, with Mary now a full-fledged adult in the sequel, Sandberg promoted his frequent collaborator to the Shazamily, making her the only family member to play dual roles.
According to Currey, this scenario nearly played out in the 2019 film since Mary was right on the verge of adulthood.
“When they first cast me, they were toying around on whether or not to have the same actor for Mary, considering she’s the oldest of the kids,” Currey tells The Hollywood Reporter. “But now, with the second one, it was really neat to have that explanation that she’s an adult now.”

Helen Mirren recently made her DC Extended Universe debut in Shazam! Fury of The Gods. The actor said she did a few of her stunts in the movie, resulting in a painful injury. However, Mirren refused to tell anyone on the set of Shazam! 2 that she had gotten hurt.
Helen Mirren causes trouble as the villain Hespera in ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’
In the first Shazam! movie, a young Billy Batson is chosen by the ancient wizard Shazam to succeed him as his champion. Billy gains superpowers allowing him to transform into an adult superhero. Poor Shazam. Its production and release hampered by Covid and now seemingly lame-ducked by the arrival of a new regime to run DC Studios, the big red-suited lug’s second movie, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, finally makes its lonely stand in an effort to tap into the good will generated by his 2019 big-screen debut and, perhaps, plead its case to keep this off-brand DC franchise going.
We say off-brand because when the first Shazam! came out, it was a fun, funny, family-oriented, brightly-colored antidote to the ponderous, dark, heavy-handed edgelord theatrics of the Snyderverse that dominated DC for nearly a decade. It had heart, its stakes were relatively small, and its hero was much more relatably human than the brooding bro-dudes and psychotics we had gotten used to from the Dceu.
So on one hand, we’re pleased to say that Shazam! Fury of the Gods has more of the same — humor,...

It’s time to reckon with the gods.
Dceu sequel “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” marks Zachary Levi’s return to the role four years after the first film “Shazam!” debuted in April 2019. Both Levi and Asher Angel portray Billy Batson, a teen in foster care bequeathed godly powers to protect the universe.
Adam Brody, Meagan Good, Michelle Borth, Ross Butler, and D.J. Cotrona additionally reprise their roles as the superhero versions of Billy’s siblings. Helmed by director David F. Sandberg, “Fury of the Gods” also marks Billy’s first battle against goddesses played by Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu. “West Side Story” breakout Rachel Zegler stars as a fellow Daughter of Atlas, a clan that questions why Billy has inherited their father’s abilities aka the “stamina of Atlas” during Billy’s induction ceremony.
“It’s sort of an extension of the first movie,” Sandberg told Entertainment Weekly of Billy’s onscreen quest.

Right on the heels of “Thor: Love and Thunder,” Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Entertainment are giving a look at their cinematic version of the realm of the gods.
On Sunday, the studio debuted the first trailer for “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” during its San Diego Comic-Con program inside the prestigious Hall H exhibition room. While DC Comics fans got a teaser of the film at FanDome last year, this year viewers actually got to see the film’s two antagonists, Hespera and Calypso in action.
The sinister godly duo are respectively played by icon Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu, with the former having a showdown with Shazam and pissed that all these new kids have the power of the gods and the latter summoning a dragon. They’re called the Daughters of Atlas.

Hawaii Five-0 is no more.
One of the most successful reboots ever wrapped up its 10 season run last week on CBS.
The final scene was divisive for many fans, with Steve leaving the team behind to go on a break after taking down Daiyu Mei.
If you watch Hawaii Five-0 online, you know Steve was joined on the plan by a familiar face:
Catherine Rollins.
Michelle Borth returned for Hawaii Five-0 Season 10 Episode 22, and it was quite the surprise.
Many shows promote big returns months in advance, but this was the series finale, so things were going to be different.
Given that Borth was not part of the episode before the final scene, it seemed like Steve was leaving Hawaii all alone.
"I could have listened to the fans and not brought her back!", showrunner Peter M Lenkov said to TV Line about his decision to have Catherine stage a comeback.

“Shazam!” screenplay writer Henry Gayden has been tapped to write the DC superhero movie’s sequel for DC and New Line, an individual with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap. The filmmaking team of David F. Sandberg and Peter Safran are also expected to return.
The writer has a busy slate as he is also adapting “Last Human,” a live-action science fiction film from Phil Lord and Christopher Miller based on the forthcoming novel of the same name by Lee Bacon, which Sony/TriStar have won in a bidding war. The film is described as a “reverse Et” and tells the story of an artificial intelligence society where three robots discover a human child.
“Shazam!” was the #1 film worldwide this weekend, over-performing expectations with a domestic cume of $56.8 million (inclusive of $3.3m in previews) and $102.3 internationally for a worldwide figure of $159.1 million on a relatively modest budget for a superhero film.

It’s April Fools Day, which means the Internet is going to be flooded with all kinds of ridiculous fake news. We won’t be posting any of this fake news on the site, but Warner Bros. did have some fun with the DC fans by sharing a new Shazam! trailer that opens up with an Aquaman 2 announcement.
You know what would have been funnier, though? If they would have started the trailer out with a Justice League Snyder Cut tease! That would have gotten a much better reaction from the fans! Regardless, it’s still a fun trailer and it features a few new bits of Shazam! footage.
Here’s the synopsis:
We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Asher Angel) case, by shouting out one word—Shazam!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid...

Robot Chicken teamed up with WB and DC to create a series of Shazam! comedy sketches to help promote the movie. I love the kind of comedy that Robot Chicken delivers and they had some fun with this one.
One of the things they poke fun at is the fact that after Billy discovers he can transform into a superhero with all kinds of cool super powers, the one thing they think about doing is going out to buy some beer.
The reviews for Shazam! have been rolling in and it looks like fans and critics are loving it! I hope that the hype is real on this one! I’m stoked about seeing this movie. On a side note, everyone should ask Robot Chicken to help promote their stuff!

We’ve already known for awhile that the Shazam Family would be appearing in DC’s upcoming Shazam! movie. Now we know what actors will be playing each of the characters.

We have no idea what the future plans of Shazam! are after this first movie, but i can’t help but think that these characters will play a much larger part in the future films that are made. At least I hope that they play with them a bit more. The casting for the characters is pretty fantastic!

We’ve got a new clip from DC’s Shazam! to share with you today. In it, Shazam! sneaks back into his house with his friend Freddy, and a little girl named Darla sees them.
Shazam! reacts by attempting to stop Darla from saying anything. In the process he accidentally learns how to transform himself back into his regular young Billy Batson self.
It’s a short clip, but it’s enjoyable!

In Billy Batson’s (Asher Angel) case, by shouting out one word—Shazam!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Zachary Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen...
Shazam! reacts by attempting to stop Darla from saying anything. In the process he accidentally learns how to transform himself back into his regular young Billy Batson self.
It’s a short clip, but it’s enjoyable!

DC comic book hero Shazam comes to the Dceu with the latest superhero movie to enter our cinemas. In Shazam Chuck star Zachary Levi (Flynn Rider in Disney’s Tangled) joins the ranks of Dceu Superheroes such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and The Flash in a far less bleak and serious comic book movie as Billy Batson’s alter ego – the won word summonable Shazam. The film also stars Asher Angel as Billy, Mark Strong as Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, Djimon Hounsou as The Wizard, Meagan Good, Adam Brody and Michelle Borth.
It is directed by Annabelle: Creation and Lights Out director David F. Sanberg.
Richard Phippen and Scott Davis were on the red carpet and conducted these interviews.
The film arrives in cinemas on the 5th of April.

Warner Bros. has released a new Chinese trailer for DC’s Shazam! and this thing is loaded with incredibly fun and comedic new footage that you’re all going to get a kick out of.
The trailer features some great references to Batman, Superman, and Aquaman that are sure to make you chuckle. There’s also some footage of Shazam! (Zachary Levi) battling Doctor Sivana (Mark Strong), and there’s a hilarious scene between the two while they are trying to talk to each other while floating in the air about a mile apart from each other.
While all of the trailers for this film have been entertaining, this one might be my favorite because it does a great job of highlighting some superhero comedy.

Warner Bros. has released a lengthy new clip from DC’s Shazam! that features Billy Batson (Asher Angel) newly transformed as his superhero alter ego (Zachary Levi). As you might imagine, he’s totally freaking out and the only person he knows to reach out to is his superhero-obsessed friend Freddy (Jack Dylan Grazer) and together they go out to figure out what kinds of super powers that Billy has. As you’ll see, it’s much harder than it looks to figure these things out!
This is an amusing clip that gives us a fun taste of the film and what we can expect to see from these two characters as they stumble through their young lives with these new superhero abilities.

Warner Bros. has released a new TV spot for Shazam! in which the hero admits that he doesn’t know anything about “this Caped Crusader stuff.”
For the most part, fans seem to be enjoying the footage that has been released for the movie. I’m convinced that the movie is going to be super entertaining. It’s going to be filled with all kinds of wicked cool action and funny humor.
The hype for the movie is building and I have high hopes for it. Check out the new trailer below:

Shazam! Director Compares The Film To ‘80s Movies Like Goonies, Ghostbusters, and Back To The Future
Like many of you, I’m super excited to watch DC’s Shazam! The movie looks like it’s going to be a ridiculous amount of fun. The movie has already been compared to Tom Hanks’ Big, but while talking about the tone of the film and how this movie will be set apart from the other superhero and comic book films, director David F. Sandberg went on to compare it to other films of the ‘80s, saying:
“I like to compare it to ‘80s movies, like Goonies, Ghostbusters, and Back to the Future. That sort of like, ‘Oh, it’s a family [film]...kind of.’”
I love that they are doing something completely different with the tone of the film than the other DC films that have been made. The movie is set in the same universe as those other films, but it’s going to feel like it's own...

In the upcoming DC film “Shazam!,” Billy Batson gets to enjoy the perks of being a superhero… which includes being able to buy a 12-pack without getting carded.
“I’d like to purchase some of your finest beer, please,” he says to a disinterested cashier in the film’s latest TV spot, which you can watch above.
“Shazam!” follows the teen-aged Billy (Asher Angel) after he is chosen as the vessel of Shazam (Zachary Levi), an ancient wizard with extraordinary powers. But Shazam probably didn’t count on Billy reacting to becoming a super-powered adult the way most middle school boys would: by buying beer, goofing around with his excited foster brother, and going to a real estate office to find a super-cool hero lair that would blow Superman’s Fortress of Solitude out of the water.

We all know that it’s not cheap to make the superhero movies that we are seeing today. A ton of money goes into to making these things, including the awesome costumes that we see the actors wear. You know that costume that Zachary Levi wears in Shazam!? Well, apparently each costume cost a million dollars to make!
Some of you might think that’s surprising, but I don’t think it is. A ton of work goes into the creation of these suits! Not only are there the physical suits that had to be made, there’s also the digital visual process it went through. It was explained by costume designer Leah Butler that there were 10 suits made for the film at $1 million dollars a pop.
While talking to TotalFilm, Butler talked about what went into creating the suit, saying:
“The exterior suit is a spandex suit that goes over a musculature suit,...

As Hawaii Five-0 headed into the break, McGarrett dodged death, but the same couldn’t be said for mentor Joe White. So when the CBS drama resumes Season 9, justice will be sought by Steve and his friends — ex-love Catherine Rollins included.
In the episode “Gone on the Road From Which There Is No Returning,” airing Friday, Jan. 4 at 9/8c, McGarrett will still be reeling from Joe’s murder (as evidenced by his non-exclusive scruffiness at right) when Rollins (played by series vet Michelle Borth) shows up to join Danny and other friends to hunt down the killer. Shazam! made a big impression at Comic-Con with its trailer and panel. The movie is going to be a blast! In it, our hero is going to have his hands full taking on and trying to defeat Dr. Sivana. As for what the future will bring to the franchise, though, Zachary Levi knows who he would like to see Shazam fight in the future DC films!
He would like to take on Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam and Henry Cavill's Superman. It seems inevitable as there are some pretty epic fights between these characters in the comics. While talking to Cb about this, Levi said:
"Hell yeah man! I would love for Shazam! and Black Adam to go head to head, I would love that. And I would love for like Shazam! and Superman to go head to head because in the comic books those have been some iconic fights.
