In Season 3, school’s out for the summer, and Will (Jabari Banks) is doing Bel-Air his way. As Will makes an exciting pivot, he finds a partner in Carlton (Olly Sholotan), who desperately wants to leave his life of addiction behind and rebuild his damaged reputation. And while the dynamic duo has a lot of exciting wins, working together also reveals fundamental differences in their backgrounds and worldviews. Can a partnership of such extremes work?...

21 Savage has unveiled the trailer for his upcoming biopic, titled American Dream: The 21 Savage Story, in which Donald Glover and Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin will both play the rapper. Watch it below.
According to a press release, the clip shows three generations of 21 Savage “in the heat of a personal crisis” while doubling as a music video for a brand new song from the artist.
American Dream will cover 21’s infamous 2018 arrest by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice), which revealed that he was actually born in the UK before moving to Atlanta and making his name there as a rapper.
At the time, 21 Savage’s lawyer said he “never hid his immigration status from the US government.” During an interview with Good Morning America, 21 noted that his arrest came shortly after he criticized Trump’s extreme immigration policies with his song “a lot.”

Adam Lambert is putting his skills to the ultimate test on this week’s “That’s My Jam,” when a spin of the Wheel of Music challenges him to impersonate music legend, Cher.
In an exclusive clip shared with TheWrap ahead of Monday’s episode of the NBC series, Simu Liu and Halle Bailey battle it out against Chlӧe Bailey and Lambert on the NBC game show. Lambert’s pull of the mic to spin the wheel lands on the wheel of musical impressions.
If impersonating Cher wasn’t enough pressure, the “Whataya Want From Me” singer is tasked with singing “The Muffin Man” à la Cher — a prospect that sends both Lambert and host/executive producer Jimmy Fallon into laughter.
“Do you have a Cher in you?” Fallon asks Lambert, who gets into character with a classic Cher expression. “I got it,” Lambert exclaims as he heads to the stage.

Bel-Air, starring Jabari Banks, is one of the strangest streaming TV flagships. The controversial prestige drama reboot of the beloved sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was initially ridiculed by many as an unnecessarily overwrought take on a simple sitcom.
But the final product ended up being much more interesting than the premise implied, earning it a second season on Peacock. One of the main reasons the series ended up clicking with viewers is Jabari Banks, who plays Will Smith in the dark reinterpretation of Smith’s now-legendary show.
It’s a role that Banks wasn’t necessarily seen as the obvious choice for — including to the 24-year-old actor himself.
‘Bel-Air’ was strong enough to earn a second season
Bel-Air isn’t a straightforwardly dark reboot of a sitcom. Yes, it does a lot of straight-faced adapting of plot lines from the original Fresh Prince. But the concept came out...

The second season of Bel-Air, the dramatic reimagining of the hit ‘90s sitcom Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, is in full swing, and so is the fashion.
Every Thursday, the cast is dressed in fashion-forward looks, starting in episode one with Jabari Banks’ Will wearing a purple-and-red suit from Grayscale, the luxury Los Angeles-based fashion house worn by stars including Nope’s Daniel Kaluuya, The Woman King’s Viola Davis and NBA player Kyle “Kuz” Kuzma.
Like the original, the Bel-Air characters use their fashion as a form of self-expression. Will Smith is the athlete from Philly who likes to dress in urban wear as a nod to where he’s from. Hilary Banks is the classy and polished girl boss of the family, and Carlton Banks is the outwardly prim and proper student, who wears only pants that stop above his ankle. The series launched in February 2022 as the streamer’s most-watched original premiere, and remains Peacock’s most-watched original series to date.
The dramatic reimagining of the ‘90s Will Smith sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” was inspired by Morgan Cooper’s 2019 four-minute spec trailer, “Bel-Air,” which went viral on social media. Peacock’s Bel-Air is nearly matching the number of seasons with its showrunners.
The NBCUniversal-backed streamer has handed out a third-season renewal for its reimagining of Will Smith’s beloved The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The dramatic take on the former comedy series that is inspired by Morgan Cooper’s viral short was originally picked up at Peacock with a two-season order following a competitive bidding process with other streamers vying for the series.
The season three renewal marks its first vote of confidence beyond that initial order and follows a wave of showrunner changes as the drama struggled to find its creative voice. Carla Banks Waddles was recruited as showrunner at the start of season two. The Good Girls and The Soul Man alum was promoted from co-exec producer to showrunner and replaced T.J. Brady and Rasheed Newson (Army Wives, Lie to Me) at the helm of Bel-Air.

Will Smith’s big break in acting was the sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The show capitalized on Smith’s natural charisma and humor and proved he was more than just a rapper. Creator Benny Medina and producer Quincy Jones took a chance on Smith that paid off. The show lasted six seasons before Smith became such a big movie star, it was time to end the show. All six seasons of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air are streaming on HBO Max. If you like Fresh Prince of Bel-Air here are five other shows you may like too.

Billy Porter took us to church with his cover of “Stronger” — and Kelly Clarkson is living for it.
During Tuesday’s episode of the Kelly Clarkson Show, the singer shared her reaction to Porter’s cover of her classic breakup song from his appearance on NBC’s That’s My Jam.
“I have to give a quick shoutout to Billy Porter,” she said before playing a clip from the Jimmy Fallon-hosted TV show. “That’s the greatest cover that I have ever heard of any song I’ve ever performed.

Hoops-loving teen and Philly transplant Will Smith (Jabari Banks) may be the central character in this contemporary drama that reimagines the 90’s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air but one of the things to cheer about in this series is that it tells the story of an entire family; each person is always growing and changing, and that individual journey affects the whole. Take Will’s aunt Vivian Banks (Cassandra Freeman), who fights the good fight in Season 2: both in her job as an artist and over the firing of one of the few Black teachers at her children’s elite school. Over the course of the season, the question for Viv becomes: “Is she brave enough to figure out how to speak for herself? It’s the journey of, ‘how do you claim your voice?” Freeman says. “She’s also trying to stand up for her kids. How...

“Will is searching for his freedom in Season 2, who he is, where he belongs,” says Jabari Banks of his hoops-loving character in Bel-Air, the contemporary family drama, a reimagining of the 90’s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. If you tuned in for the February 23 season premiere, you know Will’s quest leads to heart-to-hearts with his wealthy uncle/father figure Phil (Adrian Holmes); and bonding (and razzing) with his cousins Carlton (Olly Sholotan) and Hilary (Coco Jones). Greg Gayne/Peacock This season, we’ll see Will go on a journey with a new character, basketball recruiter Doc Hightower, played by Brooklyn McLinn. And while he’s still fresh, Will guards a soft side that won hearts with the original character. Says Banks, “Seeing [Will’s] vulnerability, I think it’s super important to young men growing up.” Bel Air, Season 2, Thursdays, Peacock...

“Bel-Air” showrunner and executive producer Carla Banks-Waddles says the show’s writers got the messages loud and clear from fans and the cast about what they’d like to see for Season 2 – and those ideas are being weighed and considered.
Peacock’s most-watched original series is back with a fresh new season, and Banks-Waddles says a lot of the storylines in Season 2 were a mix of writers’ ideas and what fans reacted to from Season 1.
“I think it was a combination of knowing the conversations we were having in Season 1,” Banks-Waddles told TheWrap. “[Writers] were like, ‘Oh, maybe that’s something to look harder at. What’s that storyline?’ People really loved Jazz and Hillary in Season 1. What is Uncle Phil doing now that he quit the D.A. race in Season 1? What was he doing before he did that? Just being able to organically look at everybody’s story, and...

Peacock's revival of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" reunites us with some of our favorite characters, in new form. Newcomer Jabari Banks steps into Will Smith's shoes as Will, while Adrian Holmes plays Banks family patriarch Philip Banks. Vivian (Cassandra Freeman), Carlton (Olly Sholotan), Hilary (Coco Jones), and Ashley Banks's (Akira Akbar) roles have also been recast, while April Parker Jones plays Will's mother. And during the show's season one finale, we finally reunited with Will's father, Lou.
For those who don't remember, Lou (originally played by Ben Vareen) abandoned his family in "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" when Will was just 5 years old, leaving Vy to raise Will on her own. Per Hilary, he was "a deadbeat who left him and his mom flat." Lou went on to become a trucker and was absent for most of Will's life until season four, episode 24 ("Papa's Got a Brand...
