Back in October, Trick or Treat Studios previewed a “Dinner Scene Playset” based on the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and today brings the full reveal of the 2024 release.
The action figure set recreates the iconic dinner table sequence from Tobe Hooper’s horror classic, and it will include Leatherface, the Hitchhiker, the Cook, Grandpa, and Sally!
The set also includes the table, chairs, and Grandpa’s killing bucket.
Additionally, we’ve learned that Trick or Treat Studios will also be putting a Texas Chain Saw Massacre 5″ action figure assortment up for grabs this year, which will allow you to pick up two different versions of Leatherface plus the Hitchhiker and the Cook as individual pieces.
That means the Grandpa and Sally figures are exclusive to the “Dinner Scene” set.

I suppose the Hitchhikers‘ ground has been thoroughly salted at this point – I’ve seen the movie; you don’t need to tell me – which is why we’ve gotten two Dirk Gently TV series and these comics over the past decade. But even leaving aside how much Douglas Adams was a writer of voice to begin with, the Dirk books were fun because of the way they were told rather than the vague shaggy-dog stories they told. So doing the same sort of thing in a different medium feels like the wrong next step: the Adams estate would have been better off commissioning someone to write more Dirk novels, I think: assuming anyone could convincingly do that, which is the rub.
Anyway, there is a comics series continuing the Dirk Gently books. This first miniseries, from 2016 – probably not coincidentally the same year as the second, more successful TV show – promises there will be more,...

If one is in the mood for an indie thriller that gives off the vibe of a B-movie, then one might consider watching Roadkill, which is the new film by Warren Fast. The story is pretty simple, but Fast tries very hard to lend the film some thematic depth, which just isn’t possible with the kind of story he is trying to tell. For whatever it’s worth, the movie is unintentionally funny in a lot of places, and you can have a good time just admiring the effort the crew must have put into making this film. Although I must say that if the budget was a little better, this could have looked way better than it does. There is no intent to save on shoe leather in the film, which makes this drag a little more than it should have.

Playing as the Family in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre arguably entails a steeper learning curve than playing as the Victims. Many will argue that matches are tipped in favor of the Family, and that they’re given more tools to wreak havoc on the Victims than Victims have to escape. However, it takes time, trial and error, and team synergy to best utilize those tools–otherwise, Victims will literally run circles around you as they escape. As such, here are the best tips that I can impart after my many successes (and failures) while playing as the Family.
Your Top Priority Should Always Be to Protect Objectives and Secure the Property
I know you may be thinking–my top priority should be to kill the Victims! But ultimately, the one thing that will prevent you from getting the Victims is an escape route opening up. The moment that a fuse-box is opened,...

While The Texas Chain Saw Massacre has had several updates and patches since its August 18th release, Gun Interactive recently implemented its first significant content update, boasting a variety of changes including new characters, a new map, and significant tweaks to gameplay. If you haven’t already picked a copy of the game up, there’s no better time to than now, and if you’ve already been playing, get ready to recalibrate your strategies, as the update provides some pretty substantial changes to the dynamic of the game across the board.
The most noteworthy aspect of the update is Nancy’s House, a brand new map that takes place at the home of the Family’s newcomer, Nancy Sawyer. As a first taste of what to expect of future maps outside of the original three, Nancy’s House is a refreshing change of pace for both The Family and the Survivors.

The wait is finally over for Gun Interactive’s first batch of Dlc for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, which sees the release of the game’s first cosmetic packs. That includes a new Leatherface outfit pack that features a new mask design by Greg Nicotero, a new saw design and sound, and a new universal kill that can be equipped to any Leatherface.
As Gun Interactive’s Wes Keltner explained previously, this new skin does not come with new abilities for Leatherface. Instead, it adds a new aesthetic to those who play as Leatherface. “It’s the same as the Pretty Woman or Old Lady skins for the base Lf. However, we did give this Lf a new saw with new recordings. It’s a deeper, growling saw that can be heard and identified immediately before you even see Lf.”
Meanwhile, there are six other cosmetic packs for players to choose from.

In addition to new outfit packs for the survivors, Gun Interactive has announced today that Leatherface and his murder family are getting their own alt skins in an upcoming Dlc pack.
The “Bloody Family” pack will cover Leatherface, the Hitchhiker, the Cook, Sissy and Johnny in fresh blood from their latest victims, with the blood all over their faces and bodies.
Previously announced, Cosmetics (Clothing and Weapons) packs will cost $4.99, with Executions going for $6.99, Characters for $9.99, and Premium Content selling for $15.99.
In The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, you take on the role of one of the notorious Slaughter family, or their victims, in a third-person asymmetrical horror experience based on Tobe Hooper’s groundbreaking and iconic 1974 film. “My family’s always been in meat.”
Tobe Hooper’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre introduces a sadistic clan living in a rural pocket of Texas left behind by industrialization. As The Hitchhiker (Edwin Neal) explains to Sally Hardesty (Marilyn Burns) and her friends, his family’s business has always been in slaughter. However, technological advances left their practices obsolete, forcing them to turn to more extreme measures, replacing animal meat with human flesh. Sally doesn’t know it yet, but the Hitchhiker marks her group as his family’s next meal.
Though the family members change throughout the franchise, meat remains as integral to Leatherface’s family as the ‘saw itself, whether it’s The Cook’s (Jim Siedow) prized chili or good old-fashioned Texas barbecue. That extends beyond celluloid, too; many of the original filming locations from the franchise are now working establishments that frequently serve, well, meat.

Coming to us from Gun Interactive (developer of the Friday the 13th game) and Sumo Digital - Nottingham, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre game manages to appeal to so many, with very little variety. Oddly, the lack of variation is okay. At least for now, I can’t stop playing it. Playing this game is like playing a very dangerous version of Manhunt or Hide and Seek with your neighbors when you were a kid - just add in a few deranged psychopaths and a chainsaw.
Before you even jump into a match, you are graced with an eerie narration of a bit of history regarding the horrors that are to come. That, paired with the music and art of the homescreen, impeccably prepares you for the type of game you are about to load into. The first sign that The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is committed above all else to channeling the spirit of Tobe Hooper’s landmark horror film is the spelling of the titular weapon. Start the game and you’ll be treated to narration over scrolling text reminiscent of the 1974 film’s opening, and from there it’s time to choose to play as either a member of the cannibalistic Sawyer family or one of their teenage prey. Each match takes place in one of three locations pivotal to the film, including a loving recreation of the horrifying Sawyer residence, where the teens must work together to evade and escape the family, lest they become dinner.

Sixteen years ago, in 2007, Neil Young puzzled quite a few people when he released a new album called Chrome Dreams II. The original Chrome Dreams leaked out years later as a bootleg drawn from the ’77 acetate, and many fans felt he had made the wrong choice. “In many ways,” Young biographer Jimmy McDonough wrote in his 2002 Young biography,...

Charlie is ready to take the stage in the new trailer and poster for the upcoming horror comedy film Cannibal Comedian from writer/director Sean Haitz.
The preview follows a psychopathic cannibal (Aaron Prager) fed up with his lack of ambition who decides to try his hand at standup comedy in an attempt to satisfy his appetite for normalcy, explains the press release, which includes poster art designed by Rafael Aráujo.

Gun Interactive’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre video game is headed our way next year, and we had been promised that the game would introduce brand new slasher villains.

Like most people, Wes Keltner, Studio Head at Gun Interactive, spent most of 2020 working from home. But unlike most people, his job involved him tinkering with a strange little box called the Apprehension Engine. You think of it as a kind of “musical” instrument, with outgrowths of strings and knobs and warped strips of metal jutting out in all directions from its wooden frame, producing demonic twangs and echoes from hell when poked, prodded, and contorted in just the right way.
“There’s nothing melodic about any of it,” says Keltner of the devilish machine. “I spent a year at home obsessing over how to tease out the sounds I wanted. Eventually, those sounds became the sound bed for our Texas Chainsaw Massacre game.”
Like Keltner, the team at Gun went to incredible lengths to make sure their Texas Chainsaw Massacre game lived up to Tobe Hooper’s horror movie classic.

Gun Interactive’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre video game is slashing our way next year, and Gun has taken to social media today to tease the multiplayer approach for this one.
Today is, after all, August 18th, the day in 1973 that an infamous tragedy befell a group of five youths. But they were not the first to disappear on County Road 172…
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre video game will pit four helpless victims up against three Leatherface family members, a “3 vs. 4” structure that should set the game apart from other multiplayer horror titles including Friday the 13th: The Game and Predator: Hunting Grounds.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre will be launching in 2023 on Playstation®4, Playstation®5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, and will be launching into Game Pass on Xbox and PC.

Gun Interactive’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre video game is slashing our way next year, with Leatherface (duh!), the Cook and the Hitchhiker already confirmed as characters.
Also in the mix? Players will have to deal with Grandpa Sawyer, the oldest member of the family introduced in Tobe Hooper’s original classic. But what role will Grandpa play?
While Leatherface and the other members of the family will likely be the ones doing the slashing, Gun teases this afternoon that Grandpa’s role will be a little bit different.
“Hammer us with your theories on Grandpa’s role,” the team tweeted out today, leading fans to speculate on various different ways the character may be involved in the gameplay.
“You gotta feed him!” one fan guessed, while another wondered if he’ll be serving as something of a “monitor/alert” system. Several other fans have guessed that Grandpa will...
