Over the last few years, Marvel has produced a mixed bag of films with some setting the box office alight and others falling flat with audiences and critics. Morbius starring Jared Leto unfortunately belonged to the second category. The third film from Sony’s Spider-Man Universe could not find favor despite having a charismatic A-list star like Leto as the titular lead.
Jared Leto’s Morbius scored over Spider-Man: Homecoming in one area despite being a failure at the box office
Though fans ripped apart the film, it surprisingly scored over the much more popular Spider-man: Homecoming in one particular aspect. Marvel fans believed that the mask of the sinister villain Vulture who is common to both films was way superior in Morbius to the one seen in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

You wanna get nuts? C’mon, let’s get nuts. Through no fault of his own, Michael Keaton’s fun, nostalgic return as Batman had imploded when The Flash would debut to disaster and his follow-up in Batgirl would equally become infamous by getting shelved and locked away. Keaton is bouncing back in a big way with his second directorial effort, Knox Goes Away. Keaton’s directorial debut came in 2008 with the crime thriller, The Merry Gentleman. The trailer for Knox Goes Away has dropped courtesy of Saban Films and features a quote from our own Chris Bumbray, which was also featured on the poster, which says Keaton gives “A career-best performance.”
Knox Goes Away revolves around a contract killer who, after being diagnosed with a fast-moving form of dementia, is presented with the opportunity to redeem himself by saving the life of his estranged adult son. But to do so,...

"There's no coming back from this one..." Saban Films has revealed the trailer for Knox Goes Away, a film directed by and starring Michael Keaton. This originally premiered at the 2023 Toronto Film Festival last year to mixed reviews - some good & some bad. Set for a limited release in theaters only this March. Yet another hit man film to join the many out there right now. When a contract killer learns he has a rapidly evolving form of dementia, he is offered an opportunity to redeem himself by saving the life of his estranged son caught in a bind. Keaton stars as John Knox, the aging hit man, along with James Marsden as his son, Suzy Nakamura, John Hoogenakker, Joanna Kulig, Ray Mckinnon, Lela Loren with Marcia Gay Harden and Al Pacino. This doesn't look that good - a bit muddled and so poorly shot - but all these nice...

The long-awaited "Beetlejuice" sequel is finally coming out later this year, and Warner Bros. has just allowed the hype train to leave the station. The studio has revealed the first official poster for Tim Burton's forthcoming follow-up to his '80s classic and, with that, we now know the title of the film as well, which is pretty on the nose. Get ready for "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" this fall. Have a look at the poster for yourself.

As viewers will surely recall, Michael Keaton's Beetlejuice was stuck in the netherworld waiting room just waiting for his number to be called. The poster pays homage to that with the character holding a piece of ticker tape with the film's release date on it. The newly revealed title is at the bottom with the tagline, "The wait is almost over" up top. It is a pretty eye-catching poster and...

There's no way that Batman jumping off a roof doesn't look cool. Since the opening of 1989's "Batman," when Michael Keaton delivered his immortal "I'm Batman" line atop a high-rise before leaping into the smoke-filled abyss below, the Dark Knight has been using much of his time on-screen to glide around Gotham in spectacular style. "Batman Returns" was when we got the first proper "glide," wherein Keaton's hero sailed over Gotham Plaza amid a cloud of bats after being framed for the Ice Princess' murder. And impressive though that scene was for 1992, things would only get more impressive with successive Batman movies.
By the time Christopher Nolan came to oversee the franchise, Batman being able to "fly" was much more of a focus. In "Batman Begins," Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne uses a cape made of fibers that solidify once an electrical charge is passed through them. And wouldn't you believe,...

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will bring the Dceu to an end, setting the stage for James Gunn to launch the new DC Universe with Superman: Legacy. However, the Aquaman sequel clearly wasn’t meant to be the end of the franchise. With rumors of multiple reshoots, it’s likely that portions of the film have been left on the cutting room floor, particularly scenes which connected to the Dceu. We know that one or more of those scenes involved Batman, with Aquaman 2 director James Wan reportedly shooting two different versions, one involving Michael Keaton’s Batman and the other featuring Ben Affleck’s Batman.
While speaking to Empire (via ComicBookMovie.com) for their latest issue, James Wan was asked if Ben Affleck’s Batman might still make the cut. “Probably not,” Wan said. “All I’ll say is that those scenes were just to have something in the bank...

It’s getting to be that I’m afraid to leave the house. I mean, you never know when you’re going to run into a hitman. If you see movies on a regular basis, you know what I’m talking about. They seem to be everywhere, and they’re often going through personal problems that affect their work. But few cinematic assassins have been quite as beleaguered as the one in Knox Goes Away, receiving its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival. Michael Keaton, who also directed the film, plays John Knox, a contract killer diagnosed with a rare disease causing full-onset dementia within a matter of weeks. And that’s only one of his problems.
Another is the sudden reappearance of his estranged adult son, Miles (James Marsden, not underplaying), who shows up at his home covered in blood and begging for help covering up the brutal murder he’s just committed.

Somewhere in the middle of Martin Scorsese’s Hugo, the eponymous young character (Asa Butterfield) dreams of a catastrophe in which a steam train runs over him, careens through the Gare Montparnasse railway terminal, and takes a nosedive into the street outside. While it isn’t made clear, or mentioned at all after he wakes up, the disaster he dreams about is based on a real crash at the same station that happened in 1895, mere months before the public exhibition of the Lumière brothers’ seminal actuality film Arrival of a Train at La Ciotat.
As the persistent but largely embellished filmic chestnut has it, audience members who first witnessed the Lumières’ cinematographic train fled the screening room in Paris in a panic, reacting as if they were in real danger of being run over. If you “print the legend” regarding these perhaps apocryphal, panicking spectators, it’s not too much...

Photo Credit: Courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures/ & © DC Comics Now that The Flash has opened in theaters, audiences are cheering the well-publicized arrival of Michael Keaton’s Batman in the film. There’s a certain amount of irony in that, because film fans who were around in the late ’80s vividly remember the firestorm of controversy that erupted when Keaton was announced as Tim Burton’s choice for the Caped Crusader. So this warm embrace from today’s Batman fans serves as vindication for him. Then again, Keaton once told us that he never understood the backlash in the first place, so he just focused on figuring out how to act in a big-budget superhero movie, the likes of which he’d never done before.(Click on the media bar below to hear Michael Keaton) https://www.hollywoodoutbreak.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Michael_Keaton_Taking_on_Batman_.mp3

When I was a kid, my parents rented a wood-paneled Crt TV from the electronics store down the street. It had a dodgy remote control that only worked half the time and the picture quality was whatever the total opposite of 8K Hdr is. The first time I ever saw a movie was on its curved glass facade. But what I remember most about that tube TV is that it was the first screen on which I saw Michael Keaton's Batman.
Over the course of my life, I've tried at various points to figure out just what it was about the sculpted black rubber of Keaton's cowl that resonated so deeply. It felt elemental in some way, like it had existed long before Tim Burton brought it before a camera, and its image exists as a fundamental layer of developmental sediment in my mind. Tim Burton is known for a wide variety of movies, but Beetlejuice is one of his standout features. He brings a gothic fantasy to the type of horror that he serves, which became his signature style. However, some of them stand the best of time better than others. Burton crafted something special with Beetlejuice, which only gets better with age.
‘Beetlejuice’ came to theaters on March 30, 1988 Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice | Warner Bros.
Burton saw Beetlejuice hit the silver screen on March 30, 1988, marking its 35th anniversary. The story follows Barbara (Geena Davis) and Adam Maitland (Alec Baldwin) after they die in a car accident. Their ghosts now haunt their country residence, quickly discovering that they aren’t able to rest in rest in peace.
An obnoxious married couple (Catherine O’Hara and Jeffrey Jones) and their rebellious daughter (Winona Ryder) move into the house, as Barbara and Adam try to haunt them to scare them off.

A bad guy lies beaten on the ground. Above him towers a shadowy figure, the moonlight highlighting only his horned head and billowing cape. “Who are you?” pleads the defeated crook. With a growl, the figure answers, “I’m Batman.”
That description probably put a familiar image in your head, one that you’ve seen on screen time again and again. But for you, which Batman is saying “I’m Batman?” Do you hear Adam West’s droll delivery? Michael Keaton’s whisper? The late, great Kevin Conroy’s baritone?

Directed by Christian Schultz from a screenplay co-written with Peter Ambrosio, Presence relocates the haunted house setting to a luxury yacht. The extreme isolation of being at sea provides fertile ground to explore what makes a haunting; is it a product of a fractured mind or something supernatural? Presence attempts to straddle the line between psychological and supernatural, but its vague approach to storytelling casts its horror adrift.

Things seem to be leveling out a bit with the recent news of James Gunn and Peter Safran being named the new CEOs of DC films.

DC fans should savor Michael Keaton’s return as Batman in the upcoming “The Flash” movie, because it sounds like that could be the beginning and end of his reprisal. Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav teased future plans for DC Films on Tuesday under the tutelage of newly installed CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran, and reading between the lines, it sure sounds like the multiverse is not going to be key going forward.
“I think over the next few years, you’re going to see a lot of growth and opportunity around DC, there’s not going to be four Batmans,” Zaslav said. “And so part of our strategy is drive the hell out of DC, which James and Peter are going to do.
