Ingvar J Denis was born in Castries, Saint Lucia, and was raised in the Bronx, New York. As a 2019 BCC Media and Digital Film Production graduate, Ingvar got the opportunity to intern at Silvercup Studios North, one of the largest film and television production facilities in New York City, located in the Port Morris neighborhood of the Bronx. During his internship, Ingvar worked in the Silvertrucks lighting department and observed complicated sets for Movies and TV productions.
In addition to maintaining an outstanding 4.0 GPA at BCC, Ingvar was an active member of both the Media and Digital Film Club and Film Society. Ingvar was also a videographer in the Speakeasy TV studio and served as a Federal College Work-Study Assistant in the department. He was a student member of the Society of Motion Pictures and Television Engineers (SMPTE), a New York Film and Television Student Alliance (NYFTSA) member, and has been a judge for the Panasonic Kid Witness News Program. Ingvar was also the Open Doors Film Panel Live Club Webcast Series editor. He was a production assistant on the feature movie Paradise City (2019) and participated in the Local 52 IATSE, Motion Picture Studio Mechanics Training Program. Ingvar later graduated from the Brooklyn College Film program and garnered 5 nominations for his thesis film Tracy's Mom (2021).
Ingvar received the 2019 Promise Prize from the Change, Create Transform Foundation, The Avid Technology Editing Award, and the 2021 Best Cinematography at the Brooklyn College Film Festival.
