Lovin’ is what Sublime fans got this week, as their first song in nearly 30 years was released on Friday. More extraordinarily, the track, titled “Feel Like That”, features the late Bradley Nowell on vocals via outtakes from a 1996 jam session.
“Feel Like That” is actually a collaboration between Sublime and reggae band Stick Figure, with vocals from three different people, including Nowell’s son Jakob, who was less than one year old when his father died from a heroin overdose in May 1996. After a lengthy hiatus solely because of the loss of their frontman, Sublime took on Jakob as lead singer this year with the intent to build a future for the band.
Speaking with Rolling Stone, Sublime bassist Eric Wilson expressed gratitude for having a collection of outtakes that can be heard – in some form or another – by fans. “We are blessed that we still have all these old...

Dominique Thorne’s Ironheart debuted in the MCU with 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. While not a protégé of Tony Stark, Riri Williams is also a brilliant tech wiz/inventor who built her own suit of armor with the help of the Wakandans in the film. The character’s spunk and charm made audiences want to see more of her in the MCU.

Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel starring Henry Cavill as Superman gave insight into the origin story of the titular DC hero. Despite the Kryptonian villain General Zod and the gravity of the narrative, the movie failed to have an astonishing mark among critics as the ambitious Snyderverse movie was able to claim only a 56% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/ Superman in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel
One of the reasons behind the criticism was, of course, the inherent dark tone of the narrative but this also raises a series of questions for other DC projects including Batman. If the movie was targeted for the dark tone, Russell Crowe who played Superman’s biological father, Jor-el, believes that the criticism of the movie based on the darker tone does not fit anywhere.

Hugh Jackman has done wonders for the big screens, and he doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon despite nearing his late fifties. Besides fulfilling millions of fans’ wishes by returning as Wolverine in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine, he seems to have another action project lined up, though this time, it is reportedly with Jodie Comer and filmmaker Michael Sarnoski.

This project is none other than The Death of Robin Hood. And yes, after his dear friend Russell Crowe left behind the mantle following the mixed reviews his 2010 movie on Hood received, Jackman is seemingly picking it back up for his version of Hood. That said, he might as well end up righting the wrongs of the 2010 film with a Logan-like movie on the legendary outlaw hero.

The year 2024 is turning out to be quite the year for Hugh Jackman. The Australian star is making a return to the big screen as everyone’s favorite clawed mutant, Wolverine. The X-Men member has been a mainstay not only in the comics, but also in the movie series, beginning with 2000’s X-Men. It was the latter which catapulted Hugh Jackman to a pedestal from which there was no turning back. The year 2024 marks a return for Jackman to his loved role. But it comes alongside confirmation that he will be making his debut as Robin Hood, as well.

Batman has been played by a slew of talents, but one of the most iconic versions was played by Kevin Conroy, for over two decades. However, the actor sadly passed away in 2022, leaving behind big shoes to fill when it came to his portrayal of Batman. The actor had already shaped an iconic interpretation of the Dark Knight.

However, there was another actor who was well suited for the role of Batman in the animated sphere and might seem like the obvious choice to be the heir to Conroy’s cowl. Given that this actor has played Batman in multiple films, most notably in the critically acclaimed and well-received Batman: Under the Red Hood, he might be the perfect choice for the role of Batman.

Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell to star in ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight’ (Photos Provided by HBO)
HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight has found its Dunk and Egg. Peter Claffey has signed on to star as Dunk and Dexter Sol Ansell is confirmed to star as Egg.
“A century before the events of Game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall (Claffey), and his diminutive squire, Egg (Ansell),” reads HBO’s synopsis. “Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.”
The much-anticipated drama is written by A Song of Fire and Ice author George R.R. Martin.

If you wonder what motivates a band after three decades together, ask the Old 97’s. “It feels so unlikely that we’re here, in this moment, in our career and in our lives, and we’ve built something that’s really pretty unimpeachable,” Rhett Miller tells me. We’re sitting in his office — the basement room in his Hudson Valley, New York, home where he writes, seeks inspiration, and often streams solo shows online. “I don’t want to fuck it up.”

Top of the mornin’ to you on this St. Patrick’s Day! To celebrate, we here at Arrow in the Head decided to mark the occasion by going back over the Leprechaun movies and ranking them from worst to first. The Leprechaun Movies Ranked list can be seen below – check it out and let us know how you would rank the movies!
Leprechaun: Origins (2014)
This is appalling. Director Zach Lipovsky, writer Harris Wilkinson, and WWE Studios were given the chance to make a new Leprechaun movie, they cast a professional wrestler (Dylan “Hornswoggle” Postl) as the title character, and then they just churned out a dull monster movie. I don’t know how anyone involved thought this was a good idea (“You know what we should do? Take everything people liked about Leprechaun and remove it!”) or how Leprechaun: Origins made it through production. The story follows Americans backpacking through...

After Russell Crowe’s story about his brutal injury on the sets of Robin Hood, Sylvester Stallone has now revealed how he sustained an even brutal spine injury while working in The Expendables. Stallone made this revelation on his reality television show, The Family Stallone, which also stars his wife, Jennifer Flavin, and three daughters. The injury occurred during a botched stunt where he was tackled by none other than WWE legend Stone Cold Steve Austin.

While Crowe and Stallone’s revelations show the extent to which actors were willing to go to entertain their audience, a few feel that bragging about recklessness is not the way to go about it. It was not the first instance where Sylvester Stallone risked a life-threatening injury on a movie set.

This Batman article contains spoilers.
Joker continuity is a bit messy by design. Ever since the Clown Prince of Crime declared that he “preferred multiple choice” in Alan Moore and Brian Bolland’s seminal 1988 comic Batman: The Killing Joke, it’s been very tough to nail down just what is true and what isn’t about the villain’s origin story. Was the Joker once a failed comedian who went mad after criminals murdered his family and he fell into a vat of chemicals? Maybe. Or was he originally a crime boss known as the Red Hood? Is his real name actually Jack?
Multiple choice has mostly worked well for the Joker, who is meant to be Gotham’s embodiment of true evil. The fact that his story is indecipherable and ultimately unknowable makes him that much scarier of a threat for Batman. But things are getting a little too convoluted now.

Death row inmate Kenneth Smith of Alabama was put to death on Thursday. His execution was carried out using a new method involving nitrogen hypoxia.
Alabama’s Attorney General Steve Marshall (R) commented on the new method, claiming, “What occurred last night was textbook,” during a press conference on Friday. “And I now suspect that many states will follow. As of last night, nitrogen hypoxia as a means of execution is no longer an untested method. It is a proven one.”
Smith was sentenced to death in 1988 for his involvement in a murder-for-hire case. The case resulted in the death of Elizabeth Sennett, a preacher’s wife. Execution by lethal injection for Smith was scheduled for November 2022. However, officials could not carry it out successfully, thus delaying the execution.

When Kenneth Smith first reached out to Reverend Jeff Hood to be with him during his January execution, Smith’s first question was: “Are you prepared to die to be my spiritual advisor?”
“Well, of course, that was absolutely shocking,” Hood says on the eve of Smith’s planned death. “He knew that I was intense enough or faithful enough with regard to my work that I would probably sign a waiver. I signed the waiver to show Kenny that I was committed to him.”

Bethesda and MachineGames recently unveiled a long-awaited video game in the form of "Indiana Jones and the Great Circle." The legendary video game studio behind "Fallout" and "Skyrim" has been working on a game set within the action/adventure franchise for several years, with the game originally announced back in 2021. But now, we know much more including when the story takes place, what the player can expect, and, rather crucially, who is voicing Indiana Jones. It won't be Harrison Ford, but another icon has stepped up to fill those very big shoes.
Troy Baker will be the man tasked with bringing Indy to life in the much-anticipated game. Ford, for his part, left the role behind with his final turn as the character in last year's "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny." It’s here, the newest Netflix thriller adapted from one of Harlan Coben’s ludicrously twist-packed, secret-filled crime mystery novels. This one comes adapted by Danny Brocklehurst with the same UK team that made The Five, Safe, The Stranger and Stay Close, and once again stars Richard Armitage in a central role.

Director/producer Brent Ryan Green has optioned the exclusive film and television rights to develop and produce an adaptation of “King Raven,” a trilogy of historical novels by Stephen R. Lawhead. The books set the tale of Robin Hood in the late 11th century amid the Norman invasion of Wales.
Steeped in lore and the political intrigue of medieval Britain, Lawhead presents a historically plausible origin story for Robin Hood. Each title within the series is told from the viewpoint of a member of the Sherwood Forest clan in an entirely new setting.
The trilogy follows the journey of a young Welsh noble, Bran Ap Brychan, as he’s met with the trials and obstacles that craft him into King Raven, better known as Robin Hood.

Starring Oscar winner Ariana DeBose and "Best Chris" Chris Pine, the story follows a young woman who makes a wish on a star with so much passion that the little Star comes down to help her save her kingdom from the evil, magical King Magnifico. To celebrate the release of Disney’s Wish, which comes 100 years after the company was founded in 1923, Walt Disney Animation Studios gave press an inside look at the place where the magic happens at its famous Burbank headquarters (yes, the one with the sorcerer hat).
As a part of the experience, select groups were treated to a private drawing class with Griselda Sastrawinata-Lemay, production and costume designer on Wish, where they learned to draw the film’s character Star.
During the drawing class, Sastrawinata-Lemay explained how years of Disney Animation history went into the designs for every character and environment in Wish. “Star’s face shape is a heart, which is also inspired by the face of Mickey Mouse,” Sastrawinata-Lemay explained. “And you will notice Star does not talk and spreads magic dust, just like Tinker Bell.”

Actors will get a somewhat larger piece of the streaming pie under the tentative agreement they made with studios and streamers — and the deal has a wrinkle that sets it apart from other recent contracts between Hollywood guilds and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.
Under the proposed new contract, which SAG-AFTRA’s national board has approved, members will be entitled to what the union is calling a “streaming participation bonus” for high-performing original streaming series and films. It includes a success formula similar to that in the Writers Guild of America’s Contract, but the actors union differs in how it will pay those residuals to performers than both the WGA and the Directors Guild of America, whose contract doesn’t include success-based payments.

Outside of Sean Durkin’s The Iron Claw and John Woo’s just-added Silent Night, the only other promising film yet to screen publicly is Ridley Scott’s war epic Napoleon. With a release set for this Thanksgiving, it’s now confirmed the 2-hour, 38-minute theatrical cut is not the only version we’ll see of it soon.
In a new issue of Total Film, Scott confirmed rumors of a longer director’s cut, ideal for the film’s post-theatrical Apple TV+ streaming home. “I’m working on it. It was four [hours] 10 [minutes] this morning,” he said. “And so what will happen is, we’ll screen [the theatrical cut] first with Sony, and then it has its run, and then the perfect thing is that [the director’s cut] goes to streaming,...

The song most important to Craig Gillespie’s storytelling in “Dumb Money” is Cardi B’s 2020 hit, “Wap.”
Set in 2021, the film follows a group of common-man stock traders who take on the titans of Wall Street. Music supervisor Susan Jacobs says, “We had a very particular time period where it was really important to the writers because that was the moment of GameStop.”
Paul Dano plays Keith Gill a.k.a Roaring Kitty, the family man who follows stock for a hobby and gains a huge following. Seth Rogen is hedge fund manager Gabe Plotkin, who hears about the inexplicable sudden rise in GameStop shares and aims to get to the bottom of it. Jacobs knew she wanted at least three recognizable songs. She says, “I wanted something that would set us back in Covid and that time.” Her challenge was how to design a soundtrack with a limited budget.

It cannot be that one is not familiar with characters like Cinderella or Little Red Riding Hood. They have a special place in the cultural consciousness as they are characters from world-famous fairy tales. Now, a fairy tale may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but a good murder mystery is something else. Yûichi Fukuda’s Once Upon a Crime, is a whodunit spin on the fairytale universe. It’s quite an intriguing idea, and with Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood as the main characters, it becomes all the more fascinating. The story begins with the story of Little Red Riding Hood, where we see the titular character going on her adventures. This tale is known to everyone, but the twist comes when she meets Cinderella on the way and tries to get her to go to the famous ball where she will meet her ‘prince charming.’ The...

New Canadian Black talent faces many obstacles to making real inroads on film and TV sets, some hidden or barely acknowledged.
But music video-turned-film and TV director Julien Christian Lutz – also known as “Hotline Bling” helmer Director X – sees one barrier in plain sight and easily surmounted: offering support and guidance to emerging Black talent so they can know their way around Canadian film and TV sets.
“You walk onto those sets and into those writing rooms, they’re very white places,” Lutz, co-founder and managing partner of indie banner Fela, told The Hollywood Reporter ahead of a Toronto Film Festival panel on Sept. 11, entitled Empowering Rising Voices: Advocating for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Through Film, and presented by indeed.
Training Black talent is required across the industry, in front and behind the camera. “We have a talent pool that’s been neglected. They haven’t had the experience they need.

Director Gavin Hood's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" was designed to usher in a shiny new era for Fox's "X-Men" films. After the studio's original mutant trilogy came to an ignominious end in 2006 with "X-Men: The Last Stand" (a film that saw alleged sexual harasser Brett Ratner replace alleged sexual predator Bryan Singer at the helm), Fox decided to soft reboot the franchise by making a prequel film about Hugh Jackman's Man With the Adamantium Claws. "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" even teed up potential spinoffs by introducing Ryan Reynolds as a pre-Deadpool Wade Wilson and Taylor Kitsch as the Ragin' Cajun himself, the smooth-talking, card-chucking thief Remy LeBeau, better known as Gambit.
Pulling what we'd now call a "Black Adam," Hood's prequel did indeed change the hierarchy of Fox's X-Men Universe ... just not in the way it intended. The film's negative critical response and middling box office turnout led to...

We all know Mystery Science Theater 3000 as the show in which a human host and a couple of robots make fun of bad movies. According to in-universe lore, the movies come via mad scientist members of the Forrester family, who test the sanity of a human subject by forcing them to watch terrible films. The humans — beginning with Joel Robinson (series creator Joel Hodgson), followed by Mike Nelson (Michael J. Nelson), Jonah Heston (Jonah Ray), and Emily Connor (Emily Marsh) — fight back by riffing on the films, a task made easier not just by the robot sidekicks Crow T. Robot and Tom Servo, but also by the genuine awfulness of the movies.

How did we get from the hot mess that is director Gavin Hood's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" to the soulful elegy that is director James Mangold's "Logan?" The answer is Mangold's second entry in the "Wolverine" trilogy, "The Wolverine." Loosely based on Chris Claremont and Frank Miller's limited 1982 comic book arc about Wolvie's adventures in Japan, "The Wolverine" lies precisely at the nexus between Hood's "Wolverine" flick and "Logan." It's more meditative than the former yet less sophisticated and bloody than the latter. It also has some of the CGI beat-em-up silliness that dilutes Hood's film but is absent from Mangold's final chapter in the saga.
Mangold and his leading man, Hugh Jackman, had hoped to make "The Wolverine" the first R-rated "X-Men" film. "I knew that if Hugh and I could get an R, then we'll have the freedom to make an adult film," Mangold told...

This post contains spoilers for Netflix's "The Witcher" and the source material.
It's been a few weeks since Volume I of "The Witcher" season 3 aired on Netflix, ending with a cliffhanger that anticipates the massacre after the Thanedd Ball. While the first two seasons have been pretty eventful so far, season 3 gets to the meat of the overarching story pretty quickly, making it fairly clear that Geralt (Henry Cavill) is not the sole protagonist of the series. In Andrzej Sapkowski's "The Witcher" novel series, there are many players that assume key roles, but Geralt and Ciri emerge as equally important in a tale about power, betrayal, and political upheaval. While Geralt still plays a crucial part in guiding Ciri (Freya Allan) in the right direction, the series will soon set up Ciri as the main character, as the fate of the Continent hinges on her actions.

San Francisco, April 19 (Ians) The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Chair Lina Khan has warned that modern AI technologies like ChatGPT can be used to “turbocharge” fraud.
In a Congressional hearing to protect consumers from fraud and other deceptive practices, Khan and fellow commissioners warned House representatives of the risks involved with AI technologies.
“AI presents a whole set of opportunities, but also presents a whole set of risks,” Khan told the House representatives.

First Thirst is dedicated to the onscreen moments that awakened our earliest desires.
As culture lovers, we know that our earliest film and television loves often go hand in hand with childhood crushes and other new and (ahem) exciting feelings. Ask someone their favorite childhood movie, and it’s more than likely they also had the hots for one of the main characters, even if it was a cartoon fox.
Most people can easily pinpoint the first time they obsessed over a movie star, or the sex scene they stumbled on a little too soon. You don’t have to be a cinephile to agree that movies shape our beliefs around sex and sexuality, and carry messages about gender and gender roles. Whether positive or negative, awakening or shameful — we all have vivid memories of our first onscreen crush or sex scene.

The Praemium Erasmianum Foundation has awarded the Erasmus Prize 2023 to comedian Trevor Noah.
He receives the prize for his inspired contribution to the theme ‘In Praise of Folly,’ named after Erasmus’s most famous book, which is filled with humour, social criticism and political satire. With his sharp-minded, mocking yet inclusive political comedy, Noah, in the eyes of the jury, upholds the ‘Erasmian Spirit.’
Trevor Noah is a South African comedian of international stature. As a humourist, television presenter, political commentator, philanthropist and author, he has staked his claim in the world of contemporary political satire. Official Secrets, 10.40pm, BBC1, Tuesday, March 21
