Comedian Katt Williams made a name for himself bringing laughter to millions. But there’s a difference between the Katt Williams on stage, and the Katt Williams in real life. And the two personas don’t always agree with each other.

What has attracted many to Williams’ stand-up shows is the honesty behind them. And because of that honesty, it might be easy for audiences to believe they’re seeing the real Katt Williams when he’s performing.
After all, there are some comedians who dial up their real personalities when performing for a crowd. But when Vulture once asked the Emmy winner how much of his real self is on stage, Williams asserted there were no traces of his true persona in his acts.
“Those are extreme opposites,” Williams said of his off and on-screen presence.

Take in the dramatic conflicts and rolling pastures of Yellowstone, and you’ll understand why its visionary creator, Taylor Sheridan, is so intolerant of any criticism that he vehemently maintains is unfounded. How often do we stumble upon a show that ricochets between the resonant truths of culture and the rugged beauty of storytelling, only to find its essence misconstrued?
Sheridan, the maestro behind the curtain, was quick to demolish the notion that his beloved series is merely a “conservative” or “Republican show”—a label he challenged in an eye-opening conversation with The Atlantic in 2022.
Taylor Sheridan in Sons of Anarchy
The narrative landscape of Yellowstone is so firmly anchored in tackling themes like Native American historical displacement that one must ask: Can the interpretation of such a complex production truly be painted with a single color of the political spectrum?
And the Sons of Anarchy actor is here to provide a thorough explanation!

According to Cincinnati, April 27th will now be recognized as Katt Williams day. The city’s vice mayor Jan-Michele Lemon Kearny honored Williams with his own Holiday after meeting the comedian personally. The announcement was made Saturday night backstage at the Heritage Bank Center, where he stopped at during his Dark Matter tour. It was noted that Williams received the honor because of his contributions to comedy and his strong connections with Ohio.
Cincinnati was a frequent stop for Williams whenever he was on tour. He was born and bred in Ohio, although spent most of his formative years in Dayton.

Before Chris Pratt donned the iconic Star-Lord suit in the MCU, he was known as the lovable Andy Dwyer on Parks and Recreation. Pratt’s characters prior to his superhero transformation often embodied a larger physique, evidenced by his deliberate weight gain of 60 pounds for the film Delivery Man, because he believed it suited the character.

Thus, prior to slipping into the sleek Star-Lord suit, Pratt naturally had to undergo a remarkable physical metamorphosis, shedding the extra weight to fully embody the iconic superhero.

Pop quiz: what do Alaskan halibut fishing and Hollywood awards prognostication have in common? Answer: they both require their participants to get up at freakin’ 5:30am on a Tuesday. The former, to barrel deep into the heart of the Kachemak Bay before the Arctic sun drives the delicious whitefish deeper underwater; the latter, to watch attractive Hollywood ingenues Jack Quaid and Zazie Beetz phonetically pronounce the names of film artisans off a teleprompter!

The mixed response to Emerald Fennell’s 00s-set thriller evinces a movie-going conundrum: how do we assess entertainment that is predominantly indexed on vibes?
By now, the buzz around Saltburn, Emerald Fennell’s sweaty, lascivious sophomore feature about a middle-class interloper in a vacuously rich family, has begun to settle into two camps. On one side, viewers and the plurality of critics who find the film, which had one of the most successful limited releases this year in the US before expanding nationwide last weekend, to be a flashy, self-satisfied mess of empty provocations. And on the other, those who see Fennell’s remix of Brideshead Revisited and the The Talented Mr Ripley with a dash of mid-aughts Abercrombie & Fitch as a successfully absorbing erotic thriller with titillating shocks. Depraved, but in a fun way, to summarize the predominant sentiment on TikTok.

Tom Cruise has made a career out of playing action heroes. Jessica Chastain, however, was very new to the role when she was cast in The Debt. Fortunately, she was able to find inspiration from Cruise to feel believable in a very unfamiliar role.

Chastain once starred alongside Sam Worthington in the 2010 thriller The Debt. The feature saw the actor portraying the younger version of Helen Mirren’s character in the film, who was a Mossad agent. Back then, Chastain considered the feature her first official introduction to the action genre.

Any longtime Spider-Man fans would be forgiven for sighing after watching the first trailer for Madame Web. Not because of its PG-13 horror tones or soap opera vibes (both familiar parts of superhero comics).
No, they cringe because of the movie’s big bad, Ezekiel Sims. Throughout the trailer, Dakota Johnson’s Cassandra Webb finds herself hunted by what appears to be a black-suited Spider-Man, whom she eventually recognizes as researcher Ezekiel Sims (Tahar Rahim). For most viewers, the trailer serves as their introduction to Sims. But fans of the Spider-Man comics might recall him from the days long before guys like Paul drove readers nuts.
Ezekiel Sims debuted in The Amazing Spider-Man #30 (2001), written by J. Michael Straczynski and penciled by John Romita Jr.. Straczynski reimagined Spidey’s origin not as a fluke accident when a random radioactive spider bit Pete on the hand, nor even as a larger conspiracy.

Fans are going to have to wait a little while for "The White Lotus" season three. On Nov. 2, HBO and Max executive Casey Bloy revealed that the new season likely won't be here until 2025.
We don't know all that much about what to expect from "The White Lotus" season three, but back in March, after much speculation about where the new season would take place, sources told Variety that it would be set in Thailand. Reps for HBO did not respond to Popsugar's request for comment, but it does seem like we can expect that the new season will be heading eastward.
Back in February, "Reboot" creator Johnny Knoxville dropped a false lead in an interview with Vulture. In the interview, Knoxville shared that he's good friends with "White Lotus" showrunner Mike White and that the pair had recently "been in Tokyo together." "I think that's where the next . . . Oh,...

One of the curious things about "The Twilight Zone's" enduring popularity is that Rod Serling's classic anthology series has been rebooted three separate times, and even spun off into movies, and yet the original series is still considered the gold standard. You'll hear "Star Trek" fans sing the praises of "The Original Series," sure, but you'll also find lots of them who think the franchise peaked with "The Next Generation," "Deep Space Nine," or "Enterprise." But the reboots of the "Twilight Zone" aren't nearly as well remembered or celebrated as the original series, no matter how many great filmmakers or actors appeared in them.
Take the first TV reboot, for example. That version of "The Twilight Zone" aired for three seasons between 1985 and 1989 — peak, influential pop culture years — and featured episodes directed by cinematic luminaries like Wes Craven, Joe Dante, John Milius, Curtis Harrington, Bill Duke, Martha Coolidge,...

Harrison Ford originally didn’t care too much about a Blade Runner sequel. But it didn’t take long for iconic filmmaker Scott to persuade Ford to do the feature.
Ridley Scott once revealed how he persuaded Harrison Ford to return to ‘Blade Runner 2049’

The canceled Sinister Six movie had a crazy scene with Spider-Man that no fan would have ever expected to see.
Long before Sony Pictures decided to share the Spider-Man film rights with Marvel Studios, the company had extensive plans not only for the iconic character but also his cast of colorful villains. The creators of the “Frasier” revival didn’t just have to rewrite the opening jingle about tossed salads and scrambled eggs: They had to toss out the original premise.

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" was once the most progressive show on television, so how is it possible that someone with a long history of mistreating women could create a long-standing feminist masterpiece? Series creator Joss Whedon was once at the top of the world of superhero fans and comic book nerds, many of whom fell in love with his beautiful blonde avatar, Buffy, a demon-fighting highschooler with superhuman strength and agility. The show's heroine was a uniquely powerful depiction of a ditzy Valley girl, turning the then-contemporary damsel-in-distress archetype on its head. But we've since learned that, behind the scenes, Whedon was doing everything he could to make the women of the show feel powerless.

With “Ferrari” fresh off its Fall festival circuit run, Michael Mann is on the press circuit himself to plug his latest feature and talk about previous films. But in a new interview with Vulture, the director spoke about another recent movie that featured legendary automobile mogul Enzo Ferrari: James Mangold‘s “Ford v Ferrari” from 2019. Mann was once attached to direct the racing pic before abandoning the project.

Martin Scorsese has been in the news quite a bit lately now that his new film, Killers of the Flower Moon, is due out soon. Not only is the filmmaker making the promotional rounds so he can talk about his movie, but he’s been giving his opinion on the state of cinema, sometimes to the chagrin of modern movie fans. Scorsese has most notably been vocal about the popularity of comic book movies and what he perceives to be their counter-programming to real cinema. One of his peers in the raw new wave of cinema in the 70s, Francis Ford Coppola, not only agrees with him but would also share his own strong opinions.
Killers of the Flower Moon is already getting amazing buzz, including Academy Award talk for both Leonardo DiCaprio and Lily Gladstone. According to IndieWire, the Godfather director would post to his Instagram a glowing reaction to Scorsese’s upcoming film.

Actor Jason Statham was recruited not too long ago in Vin Diesel’s popular Fast and Furious franchise. But before he signed up, he had reservations about playing the antagonist in the movies.

Statham’s role as Deckard Shaw in the Fast and Furious franchise wasn’t exactly set in stone. His character was initially brought on board on a test run. Based on fan response and excitement, he was written as a permanent part of the series.
“Apparently, they got a really good reaction, so they decided to pursue bringing me back and putting me in a proper role,” he once told Vulture.

John Bonham was an incredible drummer for Led Zeppelin. He was so irreplaceable that after he died in 1980, the band decided to break up instead of continuing with another drummer. His death was a shock to the other members, but they all try to keep his memory alive. Lead singer Robert Plant said one Led Zeppelin song, in particular, reminds him of John Bonham.
Robert Plant says John Bonham’s drumming on Led Zeppelin’s ‘Achilles Last Stand’ overpowered his vocal performance
Led Zeppelin was one of the first bands from the U.K. to introduce heavy rock to a mainstream audience. Bands like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones popularized rock ‘n’ roll, but Led Zeppelin pushed the boundaries of what bands could do with instruments. Bonham was an intense drummer and played many impressive solos that added a hardcore beat to each track.

“The White Lotus” was undeniably the hot show of last year’s Emmy Awards. Winning 10 trophies including Best Limited Series, the juggernaut fascinated the television academy and audiences alike with its unique style, sharp wit, and biting social criticism. Surprisingly, its second outing, “The White Lotus: Sicily,” garnered even better reviews, improving upon season one’s 90% Rotten Tomatoes score and earning 93%. With that success, it’s surprising that only four performers from the show are currently expected to receive bids according to Gold Derby odds, down from the eight it received last year.
As Emmy nomination voting comes to a close, Jennifer Coolidge is expected to win a bookend trophy for playing Tanya McQuoid, this time in the Best Drama Supporting Actress category. Aubry Plaza and Meghann Fahy are in position to join her as nominees. The fourth player predicted to reap a bid is F. Murray Abraham for Best Drama Supporting Actor.

It was only last month when Rivers Cuomo admitted that, yeah, Weezer have maybe put out a little “too much” music in recent years. But the man isn’t regretting all of his band’s later discography, telling Vulture that he thinks their best album is — not The Blue Album, not Pinkerton — but their four collective Sznz EPs.
“Like many artists, I’m usually most excited about the thing I just made,” Cuomo said in a new feature with Vulture, while also noting that he “doesn’t do favorites.” But he did try to pick a favorite Weezer album: “I love Summer, Autumn, and Winter all for different reasons. They all came out last year. It would be very hard to choose, so I’ll just say Sznz.”
Proving his case even more, Cuomo cited a Sznz cut when asked about what Weezer song he wishes more people liked: “We...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been in a chaotic state since “Avengers: Endgame” cleared out a huge number of its heaviest hitters. Since then, thanks in part to Covid, the MCU hasn’t coalesced as clearly as the retroactively named “Infinity Saga.” So if you’re here, it’s probably because you’re wondering the same thing we are — who are the current most powerful characters?
That’s a big question but one we’re happy to answer, definitively. Is it Doctor Strange? Thor? Kang the Conqueror? Wanda? Read on to find out for yourself. But note: All answers are final… at least until more movies come out.
Of course, the MCU’s backstory stretches back billions of years and even ignoring the blip, that includes an awful lot of dead bodies. To keep things as manageable as possible, we’re limiting this count to characters who are currently alive,...

White Men Can’t Jump (2023) star Laura Harrier knows what it’s like to be the newcomer on set. After all, it wasn’t too long ago that she made what she considers to be her feature film debut opposite Michael Keaton in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017). So, in Calmatic’s new take on Ron Shelton’s 1992 classic, White Men Can’t Jump, Harrier found herself welcoming rapper Jack Harlow to his first movie set and serving as the more experienced scene partner.
Harrier plays Tatiana, a dancer and choreographer who begins to lose her patience with her longtime boyfriend, Jeremy (Harlow), as the former college basketball player just can’t let go of his hoop dreams. Fortunately, unlike their characters, Harrier and Harlow didn’t take long to get on the same page.

One of the most memorable faces in horror history, Robert Englund remains a rare example of a genre actor that no director would dare to hide under a mask. However, one of the actor’s many talents is rarely acknowledged when looking back on his decades of contributions to genre media, and that would be his penchant for villainous voice-acting. Jeopardy! fans might have been disappointed that former champ Brad Rutter wasn’t a part of the recent Masters tournament, but they may finally see the show’s highest-earning contestant again next year. Rutter, who won the 2001 Tournament of Champions and is Jeopardy‘s highest-earning contestant ever, is back in the limelight due to The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel series finale, which featured a clip of Rutter on 2005’s Ultimate Tournament of Champions. The scene clearly got Rutter in the mood for more Jeopardy, as he told Vulture he’s “always down” to compete on the show again. On the latest episode of the Inside Jeopardy! podcast, the show’s producer Sarah Whitcomb Foss reacted to Rutter’s statement, hinting that he could return to the show for next year’s Masters. “I know our listeners know we got this little thing called the Jit, the Jeopardy Invitational Tournament,” Foss said,...

They say that two heads are better than one, but when it comes to 2024’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse sequel, it could be a case of six heads are better than one. A wild theory has emerged that the infamous Sinister Six will be the big bads of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, and if you were watching Across the Spider-Verse closely, the lineup could’ve been hiding in plain sight.
Across the Spider-Verse cast Jason Schwartzman’s Spot as the main villain, but alongside a smorgasbord of Spider-People, you might’ve spotted Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus, Donald Glover’s live-action debut as Prowler, and more obscure foes like Mooseterio from Earth-8311. Away from equally ominous theories that Miguel O’Hara/Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac) will emerge as a vampiric villain in Beyond the Spider-Verse, the Sinister Six get an actual nod in the movie’s jaw-dropping finale.

Drew Barrymore wants to make herself crystal clear. On Monday, after she was featured in a Vulture profile, the actress and TV host shared an impassioned video where she called out tabloids for taking some of her quotes out of context and implying that she “wished her mother was dead” in headlines.

The best thing about "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" is the way it handles the multiverse concept itself. The film's surprisingly culturally-aware and thoughtful storyline, the performances, and that excellent cliffhanger ending all combine to make it one of the best Spider-Man movies — and perhaps just movies, in general — ever made. But for me, the multiverse as a concept is so compelling because of the parallels with our own cultural moment. Right now, you can easily immerse yourself in any subculture you like via the internet. All of history is accessible. And "Across the Spider-Verse" manages to convey that sense of grand concatenation entirely through its visuals — which, it's not an exaggeration to say, are genuinely astonishing.
The movie combines a multitude of artistic styles from throughout the entirety of human history, from the Italian Renaissance-inspired Vulture at the film's start, to the watercolor mood ring backgrounds of Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld)'s world.

Drew Barrymore was just 6 years old when she first met director Steven Spielberg during a casting for 1982's blockbuster hit "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial." Little did she know, the audition would not only lead to her breakout role as an actor but a long-lasting friendship with Spielberg. In an interview with Vulture published on June 5, the 48-year-old actor said Spielberg was "the only person in my life to this day that ever was a parental figure."
Barrymore, who's been open about growing up with uninvolved and abusive parents, apparently asked Spielberg if he could be her dad while they were working on "E.T." together, but he declined. So then she asked if he could be her godfather, and he said yes. Spielberg also went to great lengths to conceal the realities of a film set for Barrymore after she noticed men operating the alien behind a wall and she asked him to kick them out.

Drew Barrymore has been in the spotlight for over four decades, but there are probably still some things you may not know about her, including her dating history. While Barrymore has remained single since ending her marriage to Will Kopelman in April 2016, the 48-year-old actor and mom of two has been vocal about her fondness for falling in love; over the years, Barrymore has dated fellow Hollywood stars like Justin Long, Luke Wilson, and director Spike Jonze, as well as musicians Fabrizio Moretti and Eric Erlandson - and she's even guilty of "ghosting" on Christian Bale after one date back in the '80s!
In a June 2023 interview with Vulture, Barrymore gave an update on her dating life, revealing she's been swiping on the Raya dating app but hasn't been interested. "I was such a love junkie," she recalled. "I was almost never not single."

There was an audible gasp during my press screening of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. As has become common practice when watching a superhero movie, the entire audience sat glued to their seats throughout the long rolling credits for producer Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s follow-up to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018). Obviously, we were waiting for a post-credits stinger, as is the genre’s wont ever since Samuel L. Jackson first showed up rocking an eyepatch in Iron Man 15 years ago.
And yet, when the credits finished scrolling, there remained only darkness—and a promise that this story would not end until next year’s now eagerly anticipated Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. The lack of post-credits scenes was thus further evidence that Lord and Miller, as well as directors Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson, had little interest in...

As fans make their way to theaters to see "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," we're going to be hearing a lot about the film's animation. With multiple distinctive animation styles, images that pop and evolve shot to shot, and a colorful creative energy that feels more like a real comic book than any movie has before, the film's visuals are certainly worth celebrating. Part of what makes them so fantastic, though, is how well they work in tandem with the film's pulsing, dynamic score, which was composed by returning franchise composer Daniel Pemberton. Pemberton spoke with Rolling Stone ahead of the film's release about the sequel's most intriguing challenge: creating stylistically distinct themes for each universe featured in the film.
Pemberton told the outlet that he worked on themes for eight different characters' worlds, all of which you can listen to now via the original score album. Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld...

The ever-looming battle between the indomitable human spirit and its inescapable nemesis has been the central theme of many great superhero-oriented stories, and the prospect of a fictional costumed champion going against all odds and choosing to persist against the inevitable has always fascinated us. As Miles Morales and Co. swing into the theaters with the release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the much-anticipated sequel to the masterpiece of a comic-book flick, Into the Spider-Verse, we are reminded of the never-ending struggle, brilliantly put together with an emotional, vibrant, and absolutely spider-filled spectacle.

"Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" had big shoes and expectations to fill. The sequel is coming after an Oscar win and a revolution in Hollywood studio animation that has inspired experimentation in every major studio. And yet, the movie not only exceeded expectations but also crushes them. This is a grand achievement in myth building and deconstruction, with the film pulling not an "Empire Strikes Back" but a "Matrix Reloaded," interrogating the idea and tropes of the hero, while continuing Miles' poignant coming-of-age story.
Unsurprisingly, the film is gorgeous. It is easy to take that for granted but to see it with your own eyes defies description and expectations. Like the first film, it breaks apart the rules of animation to challenge the entire medium, but "Across the Spider-Verse" goes beyond, breaking film itself like it's the second coming of Chuck Jones and Michael Maltese's "Duck Amuck." After nearly five years of waiting, "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" is finally in theaters. The story was simply too big to be contained in a single film, though, so audiences have much more to look forward to as this is just the first part of a two-part story that was cooked up by producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller, alongside co-writer Dave Callaham. This means we now await the release of "Beyond the Spider-Verse" next year. Not only will that movie resolve the big cliffhanger we were left with this time around, but it will seemingly bring one of the most notorious supervillain groups to the big screen for the first time. That's right! It looks like we're finally getting the Sinister Six.

Spider-Man isn’t exactly the first character that comes to mind when one thinks of comic-book horror, but the iconic wall-crawler has actually dealt with his fair share of terror since his debut back in 1962. From his tragic part in the Marvel Zombies crossover to being forced to battle against monstrous villains like Carnage and The Lizard, there’s no shortage of horror-inspired stories starring our favorite web-head.
That’s why it makes sense that one of the most famous Spider-Man yarns centers around an extraterrestrial parasite that feeds off of aggression, with the aptly named “Alien Costume Saga” touching on elements of body horror and introducing a new monstrous antagonist in the form of Venom (who would later be rebranded as an anti-hero due to the character’s overwhelming popularity). 35 years later, this story is still influencing Spider-Man adaptations, with the most recent example being Insomniac’s upcoming Spider-Man 2,...

So it’s come to this: Spider-Man 10, technically. The future prophesied by many Hollywood alarmists, but now with more madness in the multi-verse (I cringe every time I hear it). Our prologue sees a super-powered Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) battling the iconic comic villain The Vulture, only to be interrupted by new variants like Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac) and his pregnant wife Spider-Woman (Issa Rae) emerging from another universe to assist her. Come there be something a little nefarious with them?

And in case you had any doubts, praise for the animated film, the first sequel to 2018’s “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” is effusive. Just shy, in fact, of universally acclaimed by the people who saw it.
“One step above Masterpiece. It’s an actual work of art,” writes Sean O’Connell of Cinemablend.
Reel Blend co-host Jame Hamilton says it’s “darker, more powerful and better in every way” than its predecessor.
TheWrap’s Drew Taylor calls it “a stunning achievement”. Yes, it’s” that is “visually dazzling,” but adds that “the movie’s real superpower is its emotional depth and its beautiful, melancholic tone.”

Little Women was a 1994 film adaptation of the Louisa May Alcott novel of the same name. The movie featured an ensemble cast that included the film’s star Winona Ryder, Kirsten Dunst, and Susan Sarandon. Bale was soon cast as Ryder’s neighbor and potential love interest in the feature.

In an interview with Vulture, Balfour debriefed on last week's break-up and the road ahead for Jack and Keeley. While the latest episode of the show...
