Clairo has returned to announce her new album, Charm, and shared the record’s first single, “Sexy to Someone.” Stream it below.
Set for release on July 12th, Charm is Clairo’s third album, and will arrive via her new label, Clairo Records. The album was produced by Leon Michels of the Dap-Kings and El Michels Affair, and it sees Clairo advancing on the ornate, jazz-and-folk-inspired work found in Sling. Recorded live to tape with an extensive ensemble of musicians, Clairo was inspired by the ambitious arrangements, songwriting, and recording technqiues of Harry Nilsson and Blossom Dearie.
After hopping on remixes of tracks from Phoenix and Beabadoobee and releasing a pair of singles on Bandcamp benefitting Doctors Without Borders last year, “Sexy to Someone” is Clairo’s first piece of new music since 2021’s Sling. beabadoobee has announced her new album, This Is How Tomorrow Moves, set for release on August 16th via Dirty Hit. Along with the announcement, the indie star has dropped the first single, “Take a Bite.”
Arriving as the artist’s third full-length album, This Is How Tomorrow Moves sees beabadoobee teaming up with legendary record producer Rick Rubin. As such, instead of recording in beabadoobee’s bedroom, the songs were cut at Rubin’s famed Shangri-La studio in Malibu. Despite the shift in setting, the record is billed as an introspective effort, showcasing both artistic and personal growth. “I love this album,” beabadoobee said in a statement. “I feel like it’s helped me so much more than anything else has in navigating this new era, this new understanding of where I’m at. I guess it’s about becoming a woman.”

Bleachers take on the classic show tune “Almost Like Being in Love” for the final track in the Jack Antonoff-curated The New Look soundtrack.

When the Apple TV+ series The New Look premiered in February, it brought with it the true stories of Paris-based fashion designers — from Christian Dior to Coco Chanel — navigating the hardships of World War II. But the show also offered a new sound by way of its Jack Antonoff-produced soundtrack. The latest release from the record finds Bartees Strange reimagining the 1940s classic “You Always Hurt the One You Love.”

Lana Del Rey has reunited with frequent collaborator Jack Antonoff for her new cover of Irving Berlin’s 1926 song “Blue Skies.” The track appears on the Antonoff-produced official soundtrack for the new Apple TV+ series The New Look. Stream it below.
The cover follows Florence + The Machine’s version of “White Cliffs of Dover” and The 1975’s rendition of “Now Is the Hour.” The soundtrack also features contributions from Nick Cave, Bartees Strange, Joy Oladokun, beabadoobee, and Antonoff’s own band, Bleachers.
Del Rey and Antonoff have a long collaborative relationship, with the latter just winning a Grammy for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical — due in part to his work on Del Rey’s most recent album, Did you know that there’s a tunnel under Ocean Blvd? Florence + The Machine are back with their rendition of “White Cliffs of Dover,” the first single from Jack Antonoff’s official soundtrack for the forthcoming Apple TV+ series The New Look.
The New Look centers around Christian Dior (Ben Mendelsohn), Coco Chanel (Juliette Binoche), and their contemporaries as they navigate the fashion industry in a post-World War II climate. And so it makes sense for Florence Welch and company to put their own spin on “White Cliffs of Dover,” a 1941 song made famous by Vera Lynn to boost morale amid a war-torn Britain.
Produced by Antonoff, The New Look soundtrack comprises mid-twentieth century songs covered by contemporary artists including Lana Del Rey, The 1975, Nick Cave, Beabadoobee, and, of course, Antonoff’s Bleachers. See the full tracklist and stream Florence + The Machine’s version of “White Cliffs of Dover” below.

beabadoobee is back with “A Night to Remember,” a sensual duet with Laufey. Stream the single below.
Built around a sultry bossa nova beat with a warm acoustic guitar and silky strings to boot, “A Night to Remember” gives space for both singers to lay down smooth, sensual vocals paying homage to a memorable evening “underneath the sheets.” Speaking about the song, both artists stated that they wanted to make something “a bit more sexy” than their usual output.
“I’ve been writing with a lot of different rhythms recently, also with strings and nods to more classical sounds,” beabadoobee said in a statement. “Laufey is a great fit for this sound and we had started hanging out in London, so we got in the studio together to work on music and try ideas with my producer Jacob. We also hung in NY on my tour and started becoming closer friends.

Beabadoobee is a sad ballerina. On Tuesday, the songstress released her emotional, sweet song “The Way Things Go,” her first single since opening for Taylor Swift on the Eras Tour.
The song hears the Filipina-English singer accepting that sometimes the passage of time is the best way to heal from heartbreak. “And there’s too much on my mind/That I don’t even want to try/Guess it’s not far from the ordinary,” she sings. “They do say love is blind/But I guess that’s the way things go.

Just a few months removed from opening a string of dates for Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour,” beabadoobee has returned with a new single. Entitled “the way things go,” the track is a sentimental acoustic tune that captures all the candid magic of beabadoobee’s signature sound. Listen to the song below.
Built around lyrical reflections on a love that has since faded, “the way things go” is a simple tune with beautiful resonance. Looking back on times both good and bad, beabadoobee grounds herself in the way life moves on. With her airy lilt, she sings “I don’t mind that that’s the way things go.” And with a sense of intimacy (something she’s mastered) and its ‘60s-esque melodies, the song almost feels like a classic acoustic ballad — like “Yesterday” or nearly any Paul Simon song — reimagined for the modern world.

Lucy Gaffney returns today with new single ‘Daydream In Tokyo’ and news of a new EP of the same name to arrive on 29th September via Nettwerk.
Gaffney is no newcomer to the power of patience and pure intention. The Belfast native began releasing solo material in 2020, with two well-received lo-fi offerings recorded by The Coral frontman James Skelly. Fast forward to 2023 and ‘Daydream In Tokyo’ luminously marks her arrival. The first single from her upcoming second EP, it’s a pure-cut indie-pop gem every bit as Technicolour as Gaffney’s journey along the way.
Written when she was living in Liverpool, the song is an escapist anthem with a trajectory that takes you on a journey. Across three minutes, it captures how a potent sense of place far beyond can – even in one’s mind’s eye – be an antidote to the mundane. But for Gaffney, dreaming of Tokyo...

Clairo is the latest artist to record a Live at Electric Lady EP for Spotify. Listen to the her contribution to the series below.
Claire Cottrill recorded new versions of songs from both of her albums, 2019’s Immunity and 2021’s Sling, at the famed New York City studio. The tracks have been performed live for several years now, so the recording offers the kind of comfortable, lived-in performance that allows the artist and her band to really let loose. Singles “Bags” and “Amoeba” especially stand out in these jaunty iterations; Clairo’s vocals and melodies on are on full display compared to the studio versions’ meticulously crafted sheen.

beabadoobee has released a new version of her viral hit, “Glue Song,” featuring a verse from Clairo. Listen to the track below.
The 22-year-old Filipino-British artist first debuted “Glue Song” as a Valentine’s Day release earlier this year, and it quickly became a favorite among her dedicated fanbase due to its bubbly, welcoming warmth. A simple love song with a nostalgic chic, the track allows beabadoobee’s signature style to bloom in full force, showing her knack for cutesy aesthetics and uncomplicated, airy melodies.
On the new version, indie pop icon Clairo lends her croon to the song, elevating it to a new height. When both voices come together for the tune’s second half, the harmonies weave together like a tapestry of love song goodness.
When the song was first released, beabadoobee explained that she wrote it at the onset of a new relationship during a tour across Australia and Asia.

slowthai has released his third studio album, Ugly, via Method Records/Interscope Records. Stream it via Apple Music or Spotify below, and get tickets to his upcoming tour dates here.
The title of the album is an acronym for U Gotta Love Yourself, the sentiment of which is reflected in slowthai’s description of the album as “completely me — about how I feel and what I want to be… it’s everything I’ve been leading up to.” The sound of Ugly taps back into slowthai’s love of artists like Nirvana, Radiohead, and Daniel Johnston.
“This album was me trying to emulate the spirit of the brotherhood ethos that bands have. Music is about the feeling and emotion that goes into it,” the British artist said in a statement. “Like an artist making a painting, it’s the expression of that moment in time. Taylor Swift is, without question, one of the most popular entertainers of her generation. Take the frenzy over tickets for her upcoming The Eras Tour, for instance. But in a lot of ways, the singer/songwriter has grown up in the spotlight, with her first album releasing when she was just 16.
While fame can make adolescence even more difficult, Swift’s longtime friend Hayley Williams claims Swift seemingly had it all figured out very early on.

Origins is our recurring series that gives artists a space to break down everything that went into their latest release. Today, Canadian duo Babygirl breaks down what inspired their new single, “Sore Eyes.”
There’s a comforting sweetness to Babygirl’s music, even in the most fraught phrases.
The Toronto duo, comprised of Kiki Frances and Cameron Bright and one of our Rising Artists to Watch for 2023, have a knack for wistful, dreamy indie pop. While their nostalgic sound recalls the warm malaise of ’90s alternative rock, the band’s lyrics strike a contemporary chord, blending sad, solitary images with moments of crystalline clarity and emotional weight.

beabadoobee has shared a bubbly new single called “Glue Song” just in time for Valentine’s Day, along with an accompanying video shot in her hometown in the Philippines. She previously teased the track during her NPR Tiny Desk performance in November.

Taylor Swift has given some lucky fans a second chance to purchase tickets for her 2023 The Eras Tour.
Last month, many fans were left empty-handed after Ticketmaster’s site crashed amidst the presale for the North American leg of the 32-year-old singer’s tour.
The site later went on to cancel the general sale of tickets, due to “extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory”.
Ticketmaster has since apologised to fans for the fiasco, many of whom are pursuing legal action against the company.
However, on Monday (12 December), an unspecified number of Swifties received a Ticketmaster email informing them that they had been “selected to participate in a limited-time opportunity to request two tickets to Taylor Swift The Era Tour”.
“You were selected for this opportunity because you have been identified as a fan who received a boost during the Verified Fan presale but did not purchase tickets,...

The blue-hued video follows Powfu and labelmate Rxseboy through a series of trippy, space-like environments as they perform the moody guitar-driven track.
“This is the biggest project I’ve ever released and I’m really proud of all the months of work that went into it,” says Powfu. “I wanted everything to be as authentic as possible from the music to the videos, so I shot and edited 6 of the visuals myself. I really tried to push myself creatively and stretch into multiple genres so that every song has a different feel and there’s a little something for everyone.”
