Though the many big, small and no-screen adaptations of Jrr Tolkien's Lord Of The Rings and associated tomes, footnotes and apocrypha have offered portrayals of a wide variety of characters for fans to relish/debate, one has been notably absent. Well, fret no more, Tom Bombadil hive, because the all-singing, magic-slinging master of the yellow boots will finally get his due in the form of Rory Kinnear on The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power Season 2.
Bombadil appealed to Rings Of Power executive producers Jd Payne and Patrick McKay, and they have him encountering the Halflings and Gand… Sorry, The Stranger (Daniel Weyman) on their quest.
"He’s whimsical and magical, and almost verging on silly. But also has the wisdom of the ages and the music of the spheres and deep emotional wells of ancient history and myth, and his conception and function are tied to...

8 Comedy Shows To Watch If You Loved Young Sheldon (Photo Credit – IMDb)
Though several TV series have featured intelligent children, not many have attained the same caliber as Young Sheldon. Young Sheldon, which debuted in 2017 on CBS, was a prequel to the hugely successful sitcom Big Bang Theory, focusing on the early years of Sheldon Cooper. It gave fans an explanation for why Sheldon evolved into the character he would play on Tbbt while also battling to maintain his continuity.
Even if the finale of Young Sheldon may have made many people nostalgic, there are still a lot of family comedy shows that have the same happy-go-lucky atmosphere. Nothing could quite take the place of Young Sheldon, but viewers will love these wholesome and endearing programs, from Modern Family to Atypical, which will take place in viewers’ hearts that The Big Bang Theory spin-off is leaving.

Mariah Carey is the quintessential crossover artist, with a catalog of hits that bridges the gap between pop, R&b, hip-hop, and house music. Though the so-called elusive chanteuse has shied away from the latter genre in recent years, she seems headed back into the fold. Just days after hopping on an R&b remix of Muni Long’s “Made for Me,” Mariah has dropped a deep house mix of “Portrait,” the closing track from her underrated 2018 album Caution.
Clocking in at a whopping 16 minutes, “Portrait” is the singer’s longest remix to date, including completely reworked vocals and snippets from her new Audible podcast, detailing how she approaches the remix process. “We usually just let the beat be anything,” she explains. “It didn’t have to be specifically in the same key or the same vibe…as the original. So you can just be free.”

Glen Powell fooled Richard Linklater with his crazy 'Hit Man' personas. The 35-year-old actor stars in the movie as Gary Johnson – an undercover police officer who adopts various alter egos as a fake assassin – and he delved so deeply into some of the characters that he got the director confused.Speaking at a screening of the Netflix movie in New York City on Wednesday (17.04.24), Glen said: "My favourite part was, I was on set one day, when I was playing Tanner, the redneck guy with the missing back teeth, such a fun character."I was talking to Rick, and Rick literally interrupted the conversation, and he goes, 'Where's Glen?' and I go, 'I'm Glen! I'm Glen, man, let's do this.'"I would come out in character. I'm not like a Method guy, but on those days – I promise, I don't take myself that seriously – I would come out,...

Glen Powell and Richard Linklater may be long-time collaborators and friends — and now, with the imminent release of their “Hit Man,” credited co-writers — but these two can still surprise each other.
Case in point: for the fact-based and very fun “Hit Man,” Powell stars as Gary Johnson, a seemingly regular dude who ends up moonlighting for the New Orleans Police Department as a fake assassin, tasked with snagging people who are attempting to employ a hitman to off certain people in their lives. The film, based on a Texas Monthly story, follows Gary as he tries on all sorts of personas — redneck hitman, Russian hitman, the list goes on and on — while also romancing a potential client (Adria Arjona) under the guise of smooth-talking hitman Ron. But all those other personas? Powell-original creations!

‘Tis the season of abundance! Celebrate more being more with director Jenn Wexler’s “The Sacrifice Game,” a campy new Shudder release that imagines what would happen if the cast of “The Holdovers” got a Christmas visit from the Manson Family at an all-girls boarding school with a witchy secret.
Co-written by Wexler and Sean Redlitz, this grab-bag seasonal period flick — shot in snowy Canada and set in 1971 — is more gruesome than scary and takes a handful of decidedly silly turns. Be it fruit cake, stuffed stocking, whatever your holiday metaphor, the fantasy horror adventure of students Samantha (Madison Baines) and Clara (Georgia Acken) gifts audiences steadily stranger fun almost all the way through. It’s a genre blend that’s delightful, baffling, and surprisingly ruthless in its decisive direction with a holiday twist that isn’t necessary for the plot but certainly ties the zany concept together.

Spoiler Alert! This post contains details from the Season 9 finale of Bachelor in Paradise.
It’s the end of the road for Bachelor in Paradise.
The whopping three-hour Season 9 finale picked up right where things left off last week, with five people — Rachel, Taylor, Brayden, Tyler and Blake — having left the shores of Mexico solo. The morning after the rose ceremony is bleak in Paradise, even though at least one couple is supposed to get engaged at the end of this episode.
Mercedes and Jess are unsure what’s left for them after their relationships ended ahead of the rose ceremony the night before. They want to stay and keep hope alive, but with Paradise coming to an end, their prospects are not looking good. Mercedes gave her rose to Jordan, and Jess saw something in Tanner…but can they really start anything solid in the last week of production?...

Spoiler Alert! This post contains details from Thursday’s episode of Bachelor in Paradise.
This week’s episode of Bachelor in Paradise is a short one, since the first hour was co-opted by the finale of The Golden Bachelor. Read that recap here.
But despite only being an hour long, it’s a quite a tumultuous episode.
We pick up right where we left off at the cocktail party before another rose ceremony. The women are handing out the roses, and tensions are high after that comedy roast. Multiple men are unsure where their roses are going to come from.
Perhaps the biggest question mark is, surprisingly, Blake and Jess. Last week’s episode ended with Blake questioning his relationship with Jess after seeing Katie in Paradise. He pulls her aside for a conversation very quickly into the cocktail party, where he says that seeing his ex brought up some “weird” feelings.

On Night 2 of The Voice’s Playoffs, it was Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani’s teams that were whittled down from six apiece to just three. And though Reba struggled mightily as she decided which contestants to cut, she still had an (unfortunate) advantage over Gwen: One of Reba’s contestants, Tom Nitti, had dropped out of the sing-off for personal reasons, we learned. Who else wouldn’t be performing on the show again? Read on…

Spoiler Alert! This post contains details from Thursday’s episode of Bachelor in Paradise.
It’s coming down to the wire on Bachelor in Paradise.
With just a few weeks left, the beach is practically split into steady couples and lost souls. One of those lost souls is Olivia, who has now had her man stolen from her twice. Most recently, the culprit was Kat, who caught the attention of John Henry after Tanner broke things off with her.
But, last week ended on a hopeful note for Olivia after Michael Barbour appeared in Paradise. This week’s episode begins with the answer we’ve all been waiting for. Michael does, indeed, ask Olivia to join him on the date. And it looks like everyone is happy for her, including Kat. At this point, she deserves it!

When 27-year-old BookTok creator Sat posted a TikTok criticizing a dark romance book for what she called “romanticizing” the Ku Klux Klan, she thought the video would spark a conversation about racism in book publishing. But even after the author, Tillie Cole, removed the book, Sat and at least two other BookTok creators tell Rolling Stone that after publicly criticizing the book, they were targets of a coordinated harassment campaign on TikTok.
“I wanted to bring it to folks’ attention because I thought maybe other people don’t know,” Sat tells Rolling Stone.

The shakeups never truly end on Bachelor in Paradise.
Last week’s episode ended on a cliffhanger with Charity about to give Eliza the tea on Aaron and his ex (or exes?). Eliza is eager to hear Charity’s side of the story after Kat told her that she’d been warned to stay away from Aaron before heading to Paradise.
Well, turns out that Charity doesn’t really have anything bad to say about Aaron. She doesn’t think highly of his ex-girlfriend though. According to the former Bachelorette, she returned home from the show to find that she had gotten several messages from Aaron’s ex saying that they were still dating when he went on the show. You might recognize Taylor Sheridan from his role as David Hale on "Sons of Anarchy" or Travis Wheatley in Paramount+'s "Yellowstone," but the actor's work on screen is arguably not as impressive as the stacked résumé of films and television shows that he has written.
Sheridan began acting in the 1990s and took on a number of small roles in various TV shows and movies throughout the remainder of the decade into the 2000s. But his career as an actor never quite took off, which is when he discovered his talent and passion for screenwriting. After writing the pilot for "Mayor of Kingstown" in 2011, he knew that's exactly what he was meant to do. "I was a fair actor, but that's all I was ever going to be," Sheridan told The Hollywood Reporter in a June 2023 interview. "Hollywood will tell you what you're supposed to do if you listen.

Everybody better brace for impact, because things are only getting more tense on Bachelor in Paradise.
Thursday’s episode picks up right where we left off, which in case you forgot entailed Kat having a breakdown about Tanner’s date with Davia. It’s the next morning, and everyone is waiting (impatiently) for Tanner to wake up and let Kat know where his head is at, one way or another.
Finally, Tanner graces everyone with his presence and, thankfully, he pulls Kat aside right away. She doesn’t even let him get a word in, though, and dives right into telling him about how she’s disappointed and hurt that he went on that date on her birthday. Buckle up, folks. We finally have another rose ceremony in Paradise.
Five weeks in, and this is only the second rose exchange. The men are on pins and needles, since it looks like five of them are going home. As some of them make last ditch efforts to form a connection, I can’t help but wonder why Aaron S. didn’t leave with Sam when he had the chance. But, just as he and Sean are praying to the Bachelor in Paradise gods, the producers throw them a lifeline.
Sam Picco, from Canada’s edition of Bachelor in Paradise, is here on the beach and she’s going to be handing out a rose tonight.
Her entrance is met with some excitement and a lot of confusion, since no one has any clue who she is.

Season 24 of The Voice has entered the Battles stages, but it’s not just the contestants facing off, as the coaches are also fighting it out for their teams, particularly now that Steals are in play. Coaches John Legend, Gwen Stefani, Niall Horan, and Reba McEntire each have two Steals available this season, allowing them to swipe another team’s contestant if their own coach doesn’t pick them to win their Battle. Legend and Stefani wasted no time putting their Steals into action on Tuesday’s (October 17) episode, hoping to grab one of Horan’s team members. Horan pitted his two folky singer-songwriters, Lennon Vanderdoes and Tanner Massey, against each other in the Battles, meaning that a top talent was about to become available either way. The pair sang Billy Joel’s “She’s Always A Woman,” with Horan telling them his pick would come down to who told the best story on stage.
