Reviving a popular 1980s Hong Kong comedy series, this lightweight supernatural comedy stars Raymond Wong, a survivor from the earlier films, as pawkily humorous Professor Kang of Pegasus University, whose magical powers are accidentally transferred to student volleyball player Macy Cheng. Almost before you can say "Potter" (though somebody does), she's drawn into a conflict between exponents of the dark arts, one of whom plans to unite the powers of fire, wood, water, earth and gold to reverse time and change the past. Impossible to dislike, difficult to remember.

The U.S arm of China Lion Film Distribution have just announced release dates for two great Chinese New Year’s titles, and they’re right at the ends of the spectrum in genre terms; The Viral Factor, starring Jay Chou and Nicolas Tse, and Alls Well That Ends Well (2012), starring Donnie Yen and Louis Koo. The Viral Factor will open on January 20th, 2012, while Alls Well That Ends Well (2012) will release on January 27th, 2012, throughout North America. Comedy and action chaos - seems they have a fair few bases covered there! Trailers below. According to reports from Hong Kong, after having a few months' rest to spend time with his family, two new movies starring Donnie Yen are about to start filming. Both are Chinese films, which means The Expendables 2 will not be one of them (but we do have an update on this - so read on!). The first film is a Chinese New Year comedy to be directed by Chan Hing Ka, who was responsible for All's Well Ends Well 2011 (also starring Yen) and last year's best Hong Kong comedy La Comedie Humaine. The new film will be produced by Raymond Wong Bak Ming, who was involved in many of Donnie's films including IP Man and IP Man 2. The Chinese title suggests...

Wilson Yip? Doing a family-friendly action movie? I’m down for it. The frequent Donnie Yen collaborator tosses his cinematic hat into the family genre with “Magic to Win”, a light and breezy motion picture about a professor and a young woman with superhuman powers. The film was sold in several markets back in May, long before any of the cast members stepped in front of the camera. That’s the power of the Yip, I suppose. Below you’ll find a handful of stills from the flick, which stars Yan Ni , Louis Koo Wu Jing, Raymond Wong, and Wu Chun. Dig that funky lightsaber! “Magic to Win” is tentatively scheduled for release in China later this year. Source: Film Smash...
