Amelie director’s new film: Micmacs trailer

After a five year absence Jean-Pierre Jeunet is to make a return to directing with the film Micmancs A Tire-Larigot. Hoping to expand upon his impressive oeuvre, which also contains Amelie and A Very Long Engagement, Jeunet’s latest tale features a character named Basil who seeks revenge when he is shot in the head. The source of his ire, however, is not a gang, or a lone assassin but rather the weapons manufacturers responsible for making the bullets. The film stars French comedian Dany Boon.
The UK trailer has just been released and can be found here. All the Jeunet trademarks – the yellow and green hues, the whimsical soundtrack and oddball characters – are present and correct suggesting his streak as France’s most universally popular director will go unchallenged.

Hollywood's "Burglar Bunch" Plead Not Guilty

Hollywood's "burglar bunch" have all maintained their innocence. The gang, accused of stealing from some of Hollywood's young stars' homes, pleaded not guilty at the Los Angeles Criminal Court on Wednesday.
Diana Tamayo, Roy Lopez Jr., Courtney Ames, and reputed leader Nicholas Prugo are all accused of entering Hollywood celebrities' houses, including Megan Fox, Rachel Bilson, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and Orlando Bloom, and taking million of dollars worth of jewelry and accessories.
The four suspects are ordered to go back in court on January 21 for their preliminary hearing.
Another named suspect, Jonathan Ajar, was also in court but he has yet to be formally charged in connection to the burglaries.

Revision3 continued is aggressive addition of shows today with the re-launch of LandlineTV, bringing the popular YouTube partners over to its online network. The Brooklyn-based sketch comedy series was one of YouTube's higher quality productions, often hitting topical subjects live blockbusters, TV shows, and sports with their signature satire. The group's most popular video—Transformers 2: CGI Megan Fox Even Hotter This Time—racked up over 5.3 million views on YouTube earlier this summer. Paul Briganti, Saj Pothiawala and Jared Neumark make up the core group of LandlineTV, all of which were able to quit their various day jobs to work on the show full time. With Hollywood scandals seeming to pop up like rabbits (or, you know, Tigers) these days, it's easy for some other alleged trangressors to get lost in the shuffle. But four of the sticky-fingered band affectionately known as the Burglar Bunch made their way to Los Angeles Criminal Court this morning to enter not-guilty pleas for suspected raids on the likes of Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom, Rachel Bilson and Megan Fox. Reputed ringleader Nicholas Prugo, along with Diana Tamayo, Roy Lopez Jr. and Courtney Ames, were accounted for. From Splash Page: As we approach the end of the year, it's nice to know we have a lot to look forward to in 2010 — at least as far as comic book movies go.
From "The Losers" and "Kick-Ass" in April to "Red" and "The Green Hornet" closing out the year, there's quite a bit going on next year with adaptations of comic book properties — including a few projects that don't have release dates yet. While the May arrival of "Iron Man 2" seems like a no-brainer for next year's most anticipated film, I have a sneaking suspicion that some of the other films with significant buzz around them (like "Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World," for example) have fans eagerly anticipating the end of '09 and the beginning of the next movie cycle.

Every year, there are always a few topics that light the Internet on fire and dominate search engines. This year saw a handful of topics taking up plenty of online real estate, including Kanye West's interruption of Taylor Swift at the MTV Video Music Awards, the drama between Jon and Kate Gosselin, and the amazing rise of Susan Boyle. But in a development that should not shock anybody, Yahoo announced today that its top search of the year was Michael Jackson, who passed away suddenly back in June and has since been the subject of tributes, legal disputes and the concert documentary "Michael Jackson's This Is It."

New 'Jonah Hex' Promo Image

Earlier today we posted some new photos from the live-action adaptation of "The Losers," and now we have a new "Jonah Hex" image popping up online, too.
As with the "Losers" pics, the new "Jonah Hex" promo image popped up on Omelete this weekend. It looks to be promotional shot for the film, and features Josh Brolin looking appropriately grim and gritty as the scarred ex-confederate bounty hunter.
The new "Hex" image is certainly a welcome break in the long period of silence surrounding the project, which has provided few details about the film and only a small collection of images — official and otherwise.
Last we heard from the "Jonah Hex" camp, rock band Mastodon had offered a few details about their contribution to the film's score, and DC had announced a new "Jonah Hex" graphic novel timed for release alongside the film. Actress Megan Fox, who co-stars with Brolin in the film, »

The boys at Omelete (via) have landed another look at Josh Brolin as the scarred gunfighter/bounty hunter in the live-action “Jonah Hex”. Also, the film’s official plot synopsis has surfaced. Is there a worse director working in cinema today than Michael Bay? For sheer spectacular cynicism, he really is hard to beat. Sitting through "un film de" Michael Bay is like being struck repeatedly over the head by a hefty accountant's ledger and in the case of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009, Paramount, 12), the skull-pummelling number-crunching is particularly loud… and long. By comparison, the tacky 80s cartoon feature Transformers: The Movie starts to look like a lean, mean arthouse flick, morally worthy of its voice cast which included a fallen Orson Welles.
Things start badly with the unwelcome return of charisma vacuum Shia Labeouf, although Bay seems too busy leering over Megan Fox's arse to notice just how dull his leading man really is.
