At the start of this week, I ran the first part of my interview with Mei Melancon, who stars in new sci-fi thriller Shockwave, Darkside.
It's set 100 years in the future and centres on five people stranded on the moon when their spaceship crashes.
Mei's previous roles include comic book favourite Psylocke in X-Men: The Last Stand (often abbreviated to X3), which was released in 2006.
In the first part of the interview, the La-based model-turned-actress spoke about her role in Shockwave, Darkside, how she chooses her projects and her favourite films in general.
Today, we turn the spotlight on to comic book adaptations, particularly the X-Men series, to see what interesting facts she could share from her time filming on X3 five years ago. I also asked what she thinks of previous and subsequent X-Men projects including the upcoming prequel X-Men: First Class.

The world is coming to an end. There are warning sirens, rain of ashes, bomb/missile attacks, news of nuclear explosions in Iran and Moscow. The rumor has it, the Us is shooting down any trans-Atlantic planes. Dead bodies pile up on the streets: caused by viruses, diseases and just total mayhem.
Robinson (Mathieu Amalric) is having a sort of mid-life crisis in the middle of all the chaos. He fell in love with an exotic siren Laetitia (androgynous Omahyra Mota, a Dominican fashion model) while staying in picturesque seaside town of Biarritz. As this chaotic film even more unravels with flashbacks, we get to learn how the tumultuous relationship has been as they travel from Spain, Taiwan, Canada to Paris. On the way to find Lae in a long winded road trip through Pamplona to finally emptied out Paris, Robinson gets plenty of sex and some more. I mean,...

- #22. Les Derniers Jours Du Monde Director: Jean-Marie Larrieu and Arnaud Larrieu Cast:Mathieu Amalric, Catherine Frot, Karin Viard, Sergi Lopez, Omahyra MotaDistributor: Rights Available. Buzz: A preem at Locarno hasn't brought about glowing reviews for this dystopian flick with the two plus hour run time. I'm not sure if this is an overly ambitious project or just a difficult sell, but I'll rally behind this one because I need something less grim to work with my appreciation of Children of Men. The Gist: A global apocalypse is about to destroy all mankind. In a final quest, Robinson (Mathieu Amalric) sets out on a journey from France to Spain, searching for Laetitia, the woman he once loved, even if it means heading back to the centre of the danger zone. But as the world is turning upside down, most people – through their blind panic – have decided to simply enjoy their

Serena Williams powered her way to her third Wimbledon title on Saturday, beating her older sister Venus in the women's singles final.
But the tennis-playing twosome nearly had another set of abilities altogether when they were in line for an X-Men movie role.
Brett Ratner, who directed X-Men: The Last Stand and was dating 27-year-old Serena back in 2005, was apparently interested in casting either of the sisters in the role of a mutant who was a bisexual hooker.
The Sun newspaper reported: "Brett feels either of the girls would be fantastic for the role, which is a superhero who oozes sex appeal. Her great power is the ability to seduce anyone."
The character was Stacy X (earlier called X-Stacy), whose real name is Miranda Leevald.
She is mutant with fighting skills, scaly snake-skin and the power to emit pheromones that, through skin-to-skin contact, can control the emotional and physical responses of anyone she touches,...
