Imogen Carpenter(1919-1993)

Songwriter ("If Winter Comes"), composer, pianist and singer, educated
at the Chicago Musical College (on scholarship) and the Boguslawski
School of Music. She began as a concert pianist; then led her own
orchestra, and was a singer and pianist in night clubs, on radio, and
in theatres. She appeared in the Broadway musicals "Ziegfeld Follies of
1941" and "Mexican Hayride". Joining ASCAP in 1954, she collaborated
musically with Lenny Adelson and Kim Gannon, and her other popular-song
compositions include "Say So", "Anytime, Anywhere", "Don't Change Your
Mind About Me" and "Born to Sing the Blues".
