The cause of death has now been revealed for Dax Tejera and, contrary to what ABC News president Kim Godwin said last month, the ABC News producer did not die from a heart attack on Dec. 23.
Et has confirmed that Dax choked to death because he was drunk while out at dinner with his wife and friends at Bobby Van’s Steakhouse. A spokesperson for the New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner tells Et that Dax’s official cause of death was “asphyxia due to obstruction of airway by food bolus complicating acute alcohol intoxication.”
The New York Post was first to report the news.
Just last month, Godwin released a statement addressing Dax’s death, which read, “It’s with a heavy heart and great sadness that we share that our friend and colleague, Dax Tejera passed away suddenly of a heart attack last night. As executive...

Over the course of its original 10-season run, "Murphy Brown" was consistently considered one of the best sitcoms on television and made a star out of its leading lady Candice Bergen. One of its key ingredients for success was the character of Jim Dial, the lead news anchor for "Fyi," played by Charles Kimbrough. With his overly articulated speech and rich baritone, he made what should be the face of trustworthiness and intelligence into a delightful straight-laced buffoon, earning the actor an Emmy nomination in 1990.
Sadly, Charles Kimbrough has passed away at the age of 86. Appearing on stage and screens big and small, the Tony-nominated actor had a robust career going all the way back to the late 1960s that ranged from Shakespeare on Broadway to voicing Victor the gargoyle in Disney's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" to a supporting role in the romantic comedy "The Wedding Planner." Charles Kimbrough, an Emmy-nominated star of Murphy Brown, has died. He was 86 years old. The actor passed away on January 11 in Culver City, CA, as his son, John, confirmed to The New York Times. Kimbrough is best known for playing dignified anchor Jim Dial on Murphy Brown for the CBS sitcom’s original 10-season run between 1988 and 1998. His performance earned him an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 1990. And when CBS revived the sitcom for another season in 2018, Kimbrough brought Jim back for a multi-episode arc. “Charlie Kimbrough … wrote a whole biography for [Jim Dial] before he started to play him,” Murphy Brown creator Diane English said in a 2007 interview with the Archive of American Television. “His was different than mine, but, you know, his wins because he’s got to actually be that guy.” She added: “Charlie is the most lovable, lanky, rubbery, sweet, adorable man.

Night Court will remain in session. NBC announced today that they have renewed Night Court for season 2.
The new Night Court series revolves around “unapologetic optimist judge Abby Stone (Melissa Rauch), the daughter of the late Harry Stone, who follows in her father’s footsteps as she presides over the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court and tries to bring order to its crew of oddballs and cynics, most notably former night court prosecutor Dan Fielding (John Larroquette).” The launch of the series gave NBC their best comedy premiere since Will & Grace in 2017, so it’s no surprise that they’re game for more. The network said that the revival has reached an audience of 25.7 million in delayed viewing since it debuted last month.

Even if you didn’t know the name Leslie Jordan, there’s a good chance you’ve seen him show up in a movie or TV show at some point – because over the last thirty-six years, he was able to rack up over 130 screen acting credits. When Jordan did show up on screen, he always made an impression due to his 4’11” stature and distinctive voice. Sadly, Variety reports that Jordan passed away today at the age of 67.
The full details haven’t been revealed, but Variety hears that “Jordan was driving in Hollywood this morning and crashed into the side of a building at Cahuenga Blvd. and Romaine St. It was suspected he suffered some sort of medical emergency.”
Born in Memphis, Tennessee on April 29, 1955, Jordan grew up riding horses and considered pursuing a career as a jockey before he took an Intro to Theater class at college when he was in his twenties.

Leslie Jordan, the goofy comic actor perhaps best known for his Emmy-winning turn as Beverley Leslie, the cynical foil to Megan Mullally’s Karen Walker, on Will & Grace, has died. He was 67.
Jordan was at the wheel of a BMW when he crashed into the side of a building at Cahuenga Boulevard and Romaine Street in Hollywood on Monday morning. He was declared dead at the scene and could have suffered a medical emergency beforehand.
Jordan recurs as Phil, the gay baker at the café owned by Mayim Bialik’s character, on the Fox sitcom Call Me Kat, which returned for its third season last month. He appeared in all five of the new season’s episodes so far.
His other recent work includes turns on FX’s American Horror Story — playing different characters over three seasons — and the 2018-19 Fox sitcom The Cool Kids.

The majority of Steven Soderbergh’s delicious new comedy “Let Them All Talk” occurs on a cruise ship crossing from New York to London. Amidst the mass of passengers onboard, we’re focused on four women: Alice Hughes (Meryl Streep), a fictional Pulitzer-Prize winning novelist, her two oldest friends, Roberta (Candice Bergen) and Susan (Dianne Wiest), and Alice’s zealous new literary agent (Gemma Chan). Simmering among these four women are countless secrets, resentments, and regrets — and somewhere across the Atlantic, all of them are bound to come to a boil.
In directing the film, Soderbergh took a guerrilla approach. He eschewed the usual trove of lights and equipment, favoring natural lighting and a wheelchair for dolly shots. Much of the dialogue was unscripted, too — Streep has said that Soderbergh provided the actors with outlines of each scene and directed them to improvise their lines. The result is an organic,...
