- David Begelman was born on August 26, 1921 in The Bronx, New York, USA. He was a producer, known for Wholly Moses! (1980), The Judy Garland Show (1962) and Keep in Step (1959). He was married to Ann Weston Begelman and Gladys. He died on August 7, 1995 in Los Angeles County, California, USA.

- The one-time head of Columbia Pictures lost his job after he was accused of forging a check in the name of actor Cliff Robertson in the mid 1970s. The affair was chronicled in the 1982 book "Indecent Exposure" by David McClintick.
- In the summer of 1995, he completely vanished. His friends and associates tried to in vain to find him. He had suffered some business reversals and many felt he was depressed. On August 7 he was found dead, the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, in a Century City, CA hotel room. His death was ruled a suicide.
