On the first Monday of May, fashion lovers tune into the Met Gala red carpet to see what each of their favorite celebrities are wearing. The Met Gala is a huge topic of conversation each year, while audiences analyze each fashion choice, each guest, and whether or not these celebrities fit the theme of the gala. This year, the Met Gala featured two themes of sorts. The Met Gala’s 2024 theme was ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’, inspired by the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's latest exhibition. However, the dress code was ‘The Garden of Time’, nodding its head to the visuals of the briar woods of ‘Sleeping Beauty’. With this dress code, we were bound to see plenty of florals and nature-inspired looks this evening. In case you missed it, here are some of the most memorable looks from Monday evening.

Cardi B addressed the backlash she has been receiving on social media since the Met Gala on Monday.
During an interview with Emma Chamberlain for Vogue at fashion’s biggest night, the rapper was asked who designed her massive black gown, which took up the entire landing of the carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Sensen Lii for Windowsen spent two months working on the gown, so when she couldn’t remember his name, people felt she was disrespecting the designer.
“I feel amazing,” Cardi said on the Met Gala carpet, before pausing for a moment and adding, “It’s this amazing designer. They’re Asian and everything.”
In response to the backlash, the “Up” artist posted a video on Instagram, per Entertainment Tonight, that has now expired and is circulating on Twitter (formerly X).
“I want to make this very clear, right, first thing’s first,” she began the two-minute-plus video.

In 2006, UTA presciently launched a group dedicated to the field of then-emerging digital creators, at a time when other major agencies’ online efforts were primarily focused on finding supplemental opportunities for existing film and TV clients. Now, as its portfolio of creator clients has ballooned to include heavyweights like Emma Chamberlain, the D’Amelio family and Call Her Daddy‘s Alex Cooper, the 33-year-old company is debuting an umbrella division that is “tailor-made for their needs and success across the creator economy,” in the words of agency CEO Jeremy Zimmer.
Called UTA Creators, the just-launched division brings together four previously separate agency groups — digital talent, gaming and esports, audio, and the influencer management company Dba — under one shingle, with the goal of super-serving a pool of talent that is increasingly firing on all cylinders and working on multiple platforms. (Dba continues to operate as a separate management company that has...

The theme of the 2024 Met Gala was “The Garden of Time” — based on a story by J.G. Ballard – but, really, the theme of all Met Galas always has been: Go big or stay home!
While there have been myriad gorgeous gowns, jewels and natty tuxes over many Met Gala years, what do the most dress-obsessed actually remember? Cher half-naked. Lady Gaga’s change of dress performance art. Billy Porter’s royal entrance in Egyptian armor and entourage. Katy Perry as a chandelier. They all proved: It doesn’t pay to stay staid — even if staid means gorgeous.
So the question comes down to: Does one do good outrageous? Or outrageously bad? Both the bad and the beautiful always get the most ink — sometimes, you can’t tell the difference. With such risky looks, it’s a toss of the coin. If you’re Cher, you can pull off anything. Everyone...

The first Monday of May brings the burning question: What will Rihanna, the co-hosts and other stars wear to fashion’s biggest night?
The Met Gala takes place May 6 to celebrate the Costume Institute’s new exhibit, Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art — and Hollywood stylists will be tasked with interpreting the dress code, “The Garden of Time,” inspired by the 1962 short story by J.G. Ballard. Vogue editor and gala overseer Anna Winter has said that guests should arrive in ensembles inspired by “the fleeting nature of time.”
Though Vogue will be livestreaming from the star-studded fundraiser, those who want to catch more high-fashion action can watch E!’s Met Gala complete coverage with interviews and commentary. Live from E!: Met Gala will feature celebrity interviews by Ross Mathews, who will be stationed at the museum’s steps. Although arrivals begin at 5:30 p.m.

Joe Rogan is widely regarded as the most popular podcaster on Spotify. Now, there’s public data that backs up that assertion. A new feature launched by Spotify allows users to track the follower counts of specific podcasts, and The Joe Rogan Experience has nearly three times more followers than the next show on the list.
Bloomberg located the follower counts of top podcasts by relying on a feature Spotify has been testing over the past month. The unnamed tool lets users swipe through episode previews and follow podcasts that pique their interests. Each show’s total follower count is listed as part of that display.
According to that public count, The Joe Rogan Experience has 14.5 million followers on Spotify. No other podcast listed in Bloomberg‘s report has more than five million followers. The list of shows with seven-digit follower counts includes several creator-led programs, such as Alex Cooper...

Most people can’t wear a sheer dress to work or diaper-inspired shorts to a social outing. But celebrities can get away with a lot. They are exposed to the latest fashion trends. And they often do their best to stand out from the rest. This can lead to some wild style choices, especially during Fashion Month. Here are the wackiest looks spotted at Paris Fashion Week 2024.

Joe Rogan has struck a new multiyear deal with Spotify, but will no longer see his podcast distributed exclusively by the platform.
As part of the deal for The Joe Rogan Experience, which had been the top podcast of the year globally at Spotify for the past four years, the show will soon be distributed across several podcast platforms, as well as on YouTube, rather than remaining exclusive to Spotify, as it has been for the past several years. In addition to distribution, Spotify will also handle ad sales for the podcast.
Rogan’s podcast was one of the last major titles that remained exclusive to Spotify for distribution, as the platform moves away from exclusivity in favor of ad-sharing deals and broader distribution.
Earlier this week, Spotify also ceded exclusivity of Alex Cooper’s Call Her Daddy podcast, another chart-topping title, while retaining exclusivity to the video form of the podcast.

Alex Cooper’s popular Call Her Daddy podcast is no longer exclusive to Spotify.
As of Jan. 30, the back catalog of the podcast is available on all audio platforms, with the first new episode released on all platforms Wednesday. Video will remain exclusive to Spotify.
Cooper’s podcast had been airing exclusively on Spotify since July 2021 and had been one of the most popular podcasts on the platform. In July 2021, Spotify signed a multiyear deal with Cooper, which gave it exclusive rights to future episodes of Call Her Daddy, as well as the back catalog of the podcast and future projects from Cooper.
The move to broaden distribution of the podcast comes as Spotify moves further away from the exclusive distribution model. The Joe Rogan Experience, which is consistently among the top charting podcasts on the platform, remains exclusive to Spotify.

The rise of platforms like TikTok has brought rapid growth to the influencer marketing industry since the start of the pandemic, and insiders are projecting more expansion in 2024. The Interactive Advertising Bureau (Iab) and Talk Shoppe conducted a survey that shared advertisers’ positive attitudes related to creator content.
Findings from the study were published via Think With Google, where Google often presents insights related to market research. Through interviews with ad industry figures, the Iab and Talk Shoppe found that 92% of advertisers consider creator posts to be “premium” content. 89% of that group expressed positivity about the idea of putting their ads next to creator content.
Those fond feelings are leading brands toward increased investments in the creator economy. The report found that nearly half of advertisers “constantly” allocate budgets toward creator content, and 44% of those respondents said they plan to increase their spend on creator content in 2024. That shift will...

Taylor Swift is celebrating her newfound status as Spotify’s Global Top Artist with a surprise of her own: The massively popular singer-songwriter has just officially released the previously hard-to-find fan favorite song “You’re Losing Me.”
The song, now widely available on streaming services, is the latest of Swift’s “from the vault” releases – tracks that didn’t make her official studio albums. “You’re Losing Me,” which Swift co-wrote with producer Jack Antonoff, was initially released last May only on the “Late Night Edition” CD of Swift’s 2022 album Midnights and in a digital version exclusively at her web store.
This morning, Swift posted on X/Twitter, “Um ok this is unreal?? I just wanted to say to anyone who listened to my music this year, anywhere in the world, thank you. Getting named Spotify’s Global Top Artist in 2023 is truly the best birthday/holiday gift you could’ve given me.

On her first solo Rolling Stone cover, Olivia Rodrigo appears deeply poised, leaning into a world that’s all her own. Wearing a classic black 1998 Versace bodysuit with beaded rhinestones, the young superstar shimmers as she leans forward and applies lipstick with a deadpan expression. A tiny version of Rodrigo is printed just below the rouge tip, and larger-than-life replicas of lipstick tubes, adorned with different images of the singer, tower behind Rodrigo. We’ve entered a world full of Olivias — and it feels like the best kind of déjà vu.

Rub a little Vaseline on your teeth, fire up a hot latte, do a few mouth stretches and whisper, “It’s showtime!” That’s how the most powerful people in the podcasting business — a mix of hosts, executives and reps featured on THR‘s annual power list — ready themselves before recording their widely-heard shows. As part of this year’s survey, the group, which also includes Call Her Daddy‘s Alex Cooper, Bill Simmons, Ben Shapiro and My Favorite Murder co-hosts Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark, reveals its dream guests and guilty pleasure listens as well.

It is the best of times and the worst of times for podcasting. In 2023, the industry put the brakes on a period of lavish spending and nine-digit megadeals and — much as its streaming counterparts did last year — followed largesse with austerity. Facing challenges surrounding the advertising model, macroeconomic concerns and a post-pandemic slowdown, some of the biggest players, including Spotify, Vox Media and NPR, announced mass layoffs. Spotify’s relationship with the Sussexes was, in the end, a mess.
The two parties formally ended their exclusive podcast deal on June 15 in the press after The Wall Street Journal reported that Spotify was not renewing Meghan Markle’s Archetypes show for a second season and the duchess was “continuing to develop more content for the Archetypes audience on another platform, according to a statement shared with the paper that was first attributed to a spokesperson for Archewell Productions before being changed to WME, which signed Markle and Archewell in April.
The Journal story is believed to have ultimately fast-tracked the end of the Spotify-Archewell relationship, which had still been in place prior to the story’s publication but concluded with a carefully worded joint statement released that evening announcing the two parties had “mutually agreed to part ways.” But Spotify’s Bill Simmons, who leads podcast monetization for the audio company,...

Comic artiste Trevor Noah, who left as host of ‘The Daily Show’ in late 2022, is bringing his comedic voice to an original Spotify weekly podcast set to debut later this year. The weekly podcast will blend Noah’s “signature humour and razor-sharp wit with his global perspective to deliver a unique take on the hottest and most captivating topics of the moment,” according to Spotify.
The series will also feature in-depth interviews between Noah and “some of the most influential and interesting figures around the world,” reports Variety.
While Noah’s podcast will be a “Spotify original,” it will not be exclusive to the streamer: The show will be available to listen to across numerous platforms. By contrast, Spotify has secured exclusive distribution for shows from several popular podcasters, including Joe Rogan, Alex Cooper, Emma Chamberlain and Dax Shepard.

As Trevor Noah builds out his post–Daily Show career, the comedian is adding a new job to his resume: Spotify podcaster.
Debuting later this year, the currently unnamed podcast will release weekly and feature Noah’s commentary on timely topics and in-depth conversations with influential figures from around the world, the company said on Tuesday at Cannes Lions.
The series will be a Spotify Original podcast, produced under the recently combined Spotify Studios umbrella that now includes podcast shops Gimlet and Parcast. But unlike Spotify’s major exclusive talent deals of the past, Noah’s podcast will be available on all major platforms.
“It’s really exciting to be joining Spotify on a fun new adventure where we’ll engage in interesting and meaningful conversations with some of the world’s most fascinating people,” Noah said.

Updated with statement: The Sussexes have separated from Spotify, Deadline has confirmed.
As part of their reported $20 million deal with Spotify inked back in 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had the podcast Archetypes, which the latter hosted. The show, which explored labels that held women back and touted such guests as Trevor Noah, Mariah Carey, Mindy Kaling and Serena Williams, won’t be getting a second season despite talks.
“Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together,” Spotify and the couple’s Archewell Audio said Thursday in a joint statement.
We hear the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are rethinking their deals to find better homes and partnerships for content. There’s also a chance that Archetypes could wind up elsewhere.
At the end of April, Markle signed with WME with the agency also repping Archewell, the couple’s content creation label.

This post contains spoilers for the entire third season of Dave, including tonight’s season finale, “Looking for Love.”
Season Three of Dave was all about the show’s title character — rapper Dave Burd, aka Lil Dicky, aka the star, co-creator, and one of the executive producers of the Fxx comedy (which streams the day after on Hulu) — finally achieving his goal of international fame. After faking his own death — or, rather, allowing people to mistakenly believe he was dead for a day without telling anyone otherwise — he became a...

Spoiler Alert: This story contains spoilers from “Looking for Love,” the season finale of FX’s “Dave,” now streaming on Hulu.
Brad Pitt was held hostage, rapped in autotune, shot with an arrow and revealed his “real name” is Luke — all during Wednesday night’s season finale of FX’s “Dave.” In fact, the Hollywood A-lister might bring the underrated dark comedy its first series nom after three seasons.
Playing himself, Pitt will be among the guest acting submissions for the dark comedy, Variety has learned exclusively.
Taking place on a night full of twists and turns, the 46-minute “Looking for Love” episode — directed by Kitao Sakurai and written by Dave Burd and Vanessa McGee — shows Dave being held hostage by a superfan who just wants to “hang out” with Pitt, an actor and aspiring rap star.
