Dario Franchitti -- full name George Dario Marino Franchitti, a Scottish-born racer of Italian descent -- took home the flag from the 2010 Indianapolis 500 Sunday, May 30. He won at the Indy 500 back in 2007 as well. Dario's victory lets car owner Chip Ganassi become the first owner to win at Indy and the Daytona 500 in the same year.
Franchitti's win kept racer Helio Castroneves from becoming the fourth driver in history to win a record four times at Indy. Castroneves was in the top 3 until he stalled after a pit stop during the 145th lap (there are 200 laps in total). Helio finished ninth.
Franchitti's previous Indy 500 win came in 2007, when he became the first winner in race history to win with a car powered by bioethanol. Over his seven years racing at the Brickyards, Dario has finished sixth, seventh twice, 14th and 19th.
