Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is coming soon to Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Ahead of the new version of the Splash Mountain attraction, Disney has released some information on the adorable animal friends that will be introduced to guests on the attraction.
If you have been following along with news on the attraction, you’ve likely seen the image of the animal band. These are the animals we will be introduced to first in the attraction.
They will be playing a version of “Gonna Take You There” from “The Princess and the Frog” on their cute little “handmade” instruments and found objects.
Now let’s meet our band members (they are so cute!)
Byhalia the Beaver –
“Byhalia doesn’t just build dams; she helps build musical instruments using natural materials from the bayou. As a strong-willed percussionist, it’s safe to say Byhalia is the heartbeat of the band, as...

Comcast hosted about 300 at its Philadelphia headquarters Tuesday to highlight the technology side of its business, one that’s less covered than entertainment but sets it apart from media rivals, and gives its content an attractive home.
The vibe at the first Comcast Converge was a bit upfront-ish, hosted by SNL’s Keenan Thompson for a New York contingent that’s not part of Comcast’s footprint including financial analysts, press and partners. “Technology has definitely changed how people watch [SNL],” said Thompson. “Fans will still come up to me and say they saw me on TV last night. But just as many folks say, ‘I saw you on YouTube,’ or ‘I loved you on Instagram.’ Or ‘You were very funny on Black-ish. I tell them that it’s not me, it’s Anthony Anderson, and at least they can Google ‘Who is Anthony Anderson’.”

CBS gave its new late night series “After Midnight” a bit of a soft launch on Tuesday night, premiering the show with minimal fanfare in its 12:37 a.m. timeslot behind “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Comedian Taylor Tomlinson hosts the series, which tapes on the Paramount lot in Hollywood.
The decision to keep the “After Midnight” premiere lowkey is by design: Allow the new show to find its voice over the next few weeks, prior to the Super Bowl and return of first-run scripted series in February, when more eyeballs will be back at the broadcast networks.
“I’m Taylor Tomlinson and this is ‘After Midnight, where three comedians enter, one wins and two will regret participating,” she said in opening the first episode. “We’re taking the internet and desperately trying to make it fun. It’s gonna be fun, right? Comedians, you’ll be competing for...

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" isn't really the kind of series known for making dreams come true, but in 2019, series' creator Rob McElhenney got to make his character Mac's dream come true... in the real world! The series has crossed into the real world before when the gang featured in an online video game that they then played in the episode "Charlie Rules the World," but things got taken up a notch when McElhenney was invited to help Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Chase Utley throw the ceremonial first pitch at Utley's final Phillies game. The two reunited in the season 16 episode "The Gang Gets Cursed," and things didn't go as well for Mac in the "Sunny" universe as they did in the real one.
McElhenney is a pretty big sports fan, co-owning the Wrexham A.F.C. soccer club with Ryan Reynolds and creating several episodes of "It's Always Sunny...

The gang from "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" are all Philadelphia natives who have spent their entire lives residing in the City of Brotherly Love, but only one of the actors is actually from Philly. Charlie Day (Charlie) grew up in Rhode Island, Kaitlin Olson (Dee) is from Oregon, Danny DeVito (Frank) is from New Jersey, and Glenn Howerton (Dennis) is from an Air Force family who traveled all over but eventually settled in Alabama. That leaves only Rob McElhenney (Mac), the series creator, who was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. That's right, McElhenney is the only true Philly person, and much of the Philadelphia-related humor comes from his personal experiences.
Over the years, Philadelphia has become a character in the series as much as the gang, Rickety Cricket, Artemis, or any of the other kooky characters that interact with Philly's foul five. Whether the gang is trying out...

If you thought “The Simpsons” was scarily prescient in predicting the future, “Abbott Elementary” made a remarkable prediction just last night about a Baltimore Orioles rookie that has already come true.
On Wednesday’s “Abbott,” Gregory Eddie (Tyler James Williams), a vocal Baltimore Orioles and Ravens fan — much to the chagrin of his Philly colleagues — is talking and bonding with lunch lady Shanae about the score of the day’s Orioles game. He says, “Adley Rutschman hit an opposite-field walk-off homer and Cedric Mullins was a single shy of the cycle.”
Less than 24 hours after the episode aired, the Baltimore Orioles did just that. The team won their early game Thursday with a walk-off home run courtesy of Rutschman.
Strictly speaking, it wasn’t opposite-field (he rocketed one 405 feet to center), all Mullins did was go 1-4 with a single, and the score as Gregory called it wasn’t the...

Is it too soon to pick the best episodes of “Abbott Elementary,” which has been on the air for just over a year? It wasn’t too soon to put it on every end of year list IndieWire put together, so we say no.
On December 7, 2021, ABC premiered the pilot of Quinta Brunson’s elementary school mockumentary, about a spirited and underfunded Philadelphia public school. Brunson stars as second-grade teacher Janine Teagues, a second-year teacher yet to be worn down by the administration. Her optimism clashes with but endears her to senior teachers Barbara Howard (Sheryl Lee Ralph) and Melissa Schemmenti (Lisa Ann Walter) as they band with fellow newbie Jacob Hill (Chris Perfetti) and aspiring principal but current substitute Gregory Eddie (Tyler James Williams) against the incompetence of principal Ava Coleman (Janelle James). Rajkot, Oct 10 (Ians) Gritty Uttar Pradesh got the better of Maharashtra in the tie-breaker to sneak into the men’s hockey final of the 36th National Games at the Dhyan Chand Stadium here on Monday.
After a keen battle, the teams were locked 3-3 at the end of regulation time, with Sumit, Sunil Yadav and Manish Yadav scoring for Uttar Pradesh and Aniket Gurav (2) and Sayyad Niyaz Rahim for Maharashtra.
Darshan Gawkar and Yuvraj Walmiki scored for Maharashtra in the shootout while Rajkumar Pal and Rahul Kumar Rajbhar for Up to make 2-2 after the tie-breaker too.

Late last week, Ryan Murphy’s latest project Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story (catchy name) premiered on Netflix. Of course the serial-killer saga came with a large amount of controversy, specifically from one of the victims’ families, who said that the felt being re-traumatized by the show.
But another ugly product of Hollywood’s serial-killer fetish has reared its ugly head. The show has created another wave of thirst for Dahmer, who brutally murdered 17 men and boys then engaged in acts of necrophilia and cannibalism with their corpses.

Netflix was the most talked about streaming service for the week of Sept. 19 to 25 thanks to the debut of “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.” The Ryan Murphy-created series rose to the top of Variety’s Trending TV chart following its full season debut on Sept. 23 with more than 918,000 engagements on Twitter.
Over the weekend, the show shot to No. 1 on the streamer’s most-watched list in countries around the world. As some learned more about the story of the real-life serial killer through Evan Peters’ portrayal, others pleaded with viewers not to fantasize about him or romanticize the killer simply because of the actor portraying the figure. Many more urged people to remember the victims: the 17 men and boys that Dahmer was convicted of killing in 1992.
#DahmerNetflix is out, let’s not romanticize Jeffrey Dahmer just because he is played by Evan Peters.

School is back in session at “Abbott Elementary,” this time with high-profile guest stars such Leslie Odom Jr. and … Gritty, the famous mascot of the Philadelphia Flyers.
The fuzzy orange hockey supporter plays himself in the Season 2 premiere, titled “Development Day.” Janine, the second grade teacher played by series creator and recent Emmy winner Quinta Brunson, invites Gritty to Abbott Elementary to surprise the students on their first day of school, though things inevitably go wrong.
“Gritty, to me, is such a beautiful representation of Philadelphia,” Brunson says in a behind-the-scenes video Variety can exclusively unveil. “The way he is joyful, the way he looks, the way he feels, the way he is.” Adds Sheryl Lee Ralph, who also just won an Emmy for her “Abbott Elementary” work: “There are a lot of people who might be iconic in Philadelphia. There are a lot of people that might be loved in Philadelphia.

"Maybe it's best for you to see the world as it really is: us, them." BBC has revealed the first official trailer for a new mini-series titled The English, which is co-produced by both Amazon and BBC for distribution in both the US and the UK. Which is right in line with the story, involving an Englishwoman who travels to the American west in the 1800s. This trailer comes right after the announcement that it will first premiere at the London Film Festival (even though it's not actually a film). The series follows a woman as she seeks revenge on the man she sees as responsible for the death of her son. There she connects with an ex-cavalry scout and member of the Pawnee Nation named Eli Whipp, played by Chaske Spencer. The series stars Emily Blunt as the Englishwoman, with an ensemble cast featuring Rafe Spall, Toby Jones, Tom Hughes,...

If you’ve spent any time on social media over the past decade, you’re likely familiar with the Minions, the adorable, rotund yellow henchmen figures popularized by Illumination Entertainment’s hugely successful Despicable Me franchise. In the movies, with the latest entry Minions: The Rise of Gru opening July 1, the Minions serve as sidekicks to the archvillain Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) and exist solely to do his bidding. Yet on the internet, particularly Facebook, they’re frequently used in boomer memes and have become shorthand for a certain type of cringe content,...
