[Editors’ note: The following post contains spoilers for “Game of Thrones.”]
Gwendoline Christie had one of the best moments in the final season of “Game of Thrones” when her character, Brienne of Tarth, was officially knighted on the eve before the Battle of Winterfell. Now the character is at the center of one of the season’s most polarizing decisions when in episode four, “The Last of the Starks,” Brienne lost her virginity to Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau). Many “Thrones” fans have never seen the friendship between Jaime and Brienne as sexual, and Christie reacted to the surprise love scene by telling Entertainment Weekly it somehow made sense in its own way given the characters’ circumstance.
“She’s never had a relationship before and he’s only had a relationship with his sister. So you’re dealing with two people who are not terribly functional in the emotional world,” Christie said. “I think going through sharing the experience...

The second episode of “Game of Thrones” Season 8 ended with the Army of the Dead ready to attack Winterfell, but the only thing most fans were left talking about was Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) losing her virginity to Gendry (Joe Dempsey). The moment was the 22-year-old Williams’ first sex scene on the show and many fans were left shocked since Arya is the youngest of the main characters. Arya was introduced on “Thrones” as a child, so watching the character come of age in a sexual manner proved divisive for some viewers. Many “Thrones” fans even took to social media during the episode to question Arya’s age.
Whether or not HBO knew Arya’s sex scene would cause a stir online remains to be seen, but the network did get ahead of any potential controversy by confirming Arya is 18 years old in a social media post published hours before the episode aired.

Duncan Jones, the director behind Moon, Warcraft, and Mute, is set to direct his first TV series, which will be an adaptation of the novel thriller Killer Intent. As a fan of Jones and his work, it's good to see him jump on another project, which I'm sure he'll end up directing before he gets to his recently announced film Rogue Trooper. Just in case you're not familiar with Killer Intent, here's some information:
Killer Intent is the first in a series of thrillers about a Jack Reacher-type intelligence agent Joe Dempsey. In the novel, when an attempted assassination sparks a chain reaction of dangerous events across London, Britain’s elite security forces are powerless to stop the chaos threatening to overwhelm the Government. As a dark conspiracy unfolds, three strangers find their fates entwined: Dempsey; Sarah Truman, a CNN reporter determined to get her headline; and Michael Devlin, a...

Duncan Jones, who won a BAFTA for his debut feature “Moon,” is to direct a television adaptation of Tony Kent’s thriller “Killer Intent.” The series will be produced by Liberty Films, the London- and L.A.-based production company of Stuart Fenegan and Jones, who is David Bowie’s son.
Kent will adapt his novel alongside an “American-style writers’ room of established TV talent,” according to a statement. Jones will executive produce alongside Fenegan, who acquired the screen rights for “Killer Intent” in advance of the hardback release earlier this year.
It will be Liberty’s first foray into television. Jones and Fenegan have previously worked exclusively in feature films with credits such as “Moon,” “Source Code,” “Warcraft” and “Mute.”
Jones said: “Tony’s writing style is already so cinematic, working with him and a room of writers to adapt his first book will be a thrill. I’m...

After the ho-hum reception that his latest film, “Mute,” received after its debut on Netflix, all eyes have been on filmmaker Duncan Jones’ next project. Last month, we assumed that the film project he was teasing on Twitter would be the director’s next gig. However, according to a new press release, it looks like Jones is going to take a quick detour on the TV side of things for the upcoming thriller series, “Killer Intent.”
